Atari 2600 chronogaming video project: Atari Archive

On a side note about the game, my only regret is that it's two player only, which is why I never play it. Thankfully Real Sports Football meets this need. -
Atari 2600 chronogaming video project: Atari Archive

Another great job covering Atari 2600 games! I love how you show the comparison to other similar games and talk about those for a sec. It really makes your videos more informational and historic. I appreciate that in a video game podcast. it keeps me coming back for more! Keep up the good work! -

Rumor has it Bed, Bath, and Beyond will be carrying this new PS5, hence they will rename their store "Bed Pans and Beyond!" 🤣🤣🤣 -
Stella version Flashback 9 - upgrade?

That might be good enough for others, but not for me. Apparently Stella cannot be upgraded because of hardware limitations. -

We still need working paddles for the FB9 as promised by ATGames! -
Intellivision Amico - All new Games screen shots

Well the videos don't depict pixel art so if you have watched it, you will see that is not the case. -
I see a Retron 77 joystick in the picture which makes me ask the question, is the person trying to run the game on a Retron 77? That would be my next question because those things are very unreliable with actual cartridges. The real test would be to try it out on actual Atari 2600 hardware. If it's still messed up, then maybe it's the cartridge.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

I enjoyed the video, but want to see more extensive footage of the various games before I commit to anything. I want to be blown away so I know I'm on board 100% with this. It's a good start and look forward to more gaming video footage. I think one approach that would be helpful would be to show a clip of the original game, then another of the re-imagined of that same game, like a side by side comparison. This may help some of us identify with what the Amico is doing to improve upon. Just a thought. Also, any chance the Amico will be on display to the general public to try out before you buy it like Intellivision did back in the day with display kiosks? -
I had a FB2 and yes it was flickery which is why I waited until the FB9 to play it on a modern TV. All is well with that version. It's not flickery in Stella though. This is the second time in this thread you've come in here and had it all backwards. You should probably do some research before you post anymore, or you'll end up looking like a...

Uh, there is still a huge bug left to fix which includes getting the paddles to work! That's one of the reasons I bought a FB9 was for paddle support. Since they have gone to Stella, I can't understand why the paddles still won't work. There is obviously the opportunity for firmware updates to make this happen. I feel like fixing this issue is being avoided all together...

When emulation looks as good as the real thing to you
atarifan88 replied to Flojomojo's topic in Emulation
It makes me very happy because I can have a brand new system of the old games I love to play! Also, I don't have to worry about having to spend money to replace old hardware with other old hardware that will break down again. I prefer a crystal clear screen to play my games on instead of a snowy/grainy mess I was stuck with because of old technology. Yes some use RGB cables, but even that is inferior technology. I say keep it Retro and keep it new! 😎 -

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

It's been really quiet on this thread. I know we are getting close to an update. I just wish we knew exactly when it is going to happen! Hopefully it's no later than the first week of August. I've been telling a lot of family members about the Amico and the younger ones that are hard core gamers are interested about playing a more simplistic system that allows multi player game play from the same room. I keep hearing comparisons to the Wii, but I think the Amico will be even better. Game on! -
The screen shot reminds me of an M-network sports game. Can't wait to try it!

I run an emulator because I want to play games on a modern TV without all the snowy interference that was typical with old systems. Don't get me wrong, I still have my original Atari hooked to a CRT TV, but after either one breaks down, I'm done with trying to search for a used system or TV to keep the thing alive. If they came out with a new Atari console that could play cartridges, I would buy the thing! For me it's all about convenience. I don't have the time or money to put into used equipment anymore.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
atarifan88 replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Ok, my bad. Yes the guys in the video didn't put much thought into reviewing the Amico. On a separate note I'm sure there will be a new version of golf your team is working on, but what about doing something a little different like disc golf? This may help get the younger kids to play the game since it doesn't involve knowledge of golf clubs. Just a thought... -
Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
atarifan88 replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Interesting that you would deduce no thought was put into the system, like they are just putting it out there for the purpose of putting it out there. As you noted, they are targeting a different group of people instead of the "in-crowd" (i.e. those that play the switch, xbox, etc). The fact that they are going for an old-fashioned approach is what's caught my eye because nobody is doing that these days. Most companies just keep feeding the approach that if it's on their cell phone, it's good enough. The problem with certain people is they are on their phones way too much an lack human interaction. What IP is doing is encouraging people to be in the same room to play games and interact with one another. IMO, it's a step in the right direction and is something people need to go back to.
