  1. Would it be possible for Nukey to switch the "smart bomb" button for Defender 2 from the player 2 fire button to one of the difficulty or b&w switch? Please?
  2. Could you post some links to these? I would love to take a look at purchasing one. Thanks!
  3. A site on how to locate newly released homebrew ROM's is a great thing to have for those of us who use the ROM's regularly. Thanks for your work REV!
  4. Thanks for putting this together! It's an invaluable source of info, plus it helps to keep track of games that work on the AFP as they get hacked/changed...
  5. Go to this thread: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/258970-atari-flashback-portable-compatibility-list/page-11 Scroll to the third post on the page where KevinMos3 has a zip of Bankswitch Conversions. Star Wars DSB is in there. It works on the portable!
  6. It's really not as bad as you make it out to be. Most games work so it's not bad for a first version. It will only get better from here!
  7. I've started a thread here on this. Feel free to add to it! http://atariage.com/forums/topic/260514-what-games-would-you-like-to-see-hacked-to-work-on-the-atari-portable/
  8. With all the games that work on the Atari Portable, there are some that don't and was wondering which ones you would like to see hacked by others to get it working? Maybe there are some programmers out there that can do this? Here is my list: Donkey Kong VCS - I don't know if this is possible, but maybe an earlier version can be hacked? Defender 2 - Is there a way the smart bomb button from controller 2 be changed to a difficulty switch so it can work? Frantic - There are glitches in Berzerk and this might be a nice alternative. Galaxian - This is full of glitches. This one might be hopeless? Rally X - Not sure why this one doesn't work. Maybe an earlier version can be hacked? Scramble - Same as Donkey Kong VCS. Space Rocks - Same as Donkey Kong VCS. While this is just a wish list, I know some things won't be possible. However, I am glad we got alternate versions of Star Wars Death Star Battle & Juno 1st to work on the Atari Portable, so there is hope!
  9. There is a thin layer of plastic on the atari portable flashback screen. If you start from a corner of the screen with your fingernail and pull it off, you will notice a much clearer, crisper display. You can also leave it on there, it's your choice...
  10. I seem to recall too many people having issues with downloading and adding the entire list of games to the portable. Why not start with a couple games and see if you can get that to work first. That's how I got mine to work. I am using Windows 7 and have no issues with SD card formatting. If you are using Windows 10, you need to format it using the previously mentioned program (sorry I'm not much help with this part). The only thing that should be on the SD card is a folder called "Game". Put one or two .bin files in the folder naming them with a capital letter first, followed by lower case (i.e. Combat.bin). Plug this into your flashback portable and try it. When you get it to work you can continue adding more games. I think adding a bunch at once is a recipe for problems. I only have 60 games on my SD card because I play those 60 games. None of them are neglected. Why put 100's of games on an SD card if you are not going to ever play them? Besides, it's a pain to scroll through a list like that when you are looking for the ones you WANT to play! Good luck! PS: The pre-production units are the ones with Space Invaders & Jungle Hunt. Just put those on your SD card and you will be good to go!
  11. Glad this game can now be played on the portable. Thanks for your work on this!
  12. Will this include everything including homebrews and hacks? That would be sweet!
  13. Listened to this one around the house while I was wrapping presents and even while using the bathroom. Let's just say it was a Royal Flush!
  14. Thank you! This is definitely an all time top 5 homebrew game in my opinion!
  15. I tried the same thing using the software for adding box art to the genesis roms. Did this with the Atari roms but it did not work for me. Hopefully someone will come up with something..
  16. That's what I love about he podcast. There is plenty of other entertainment during the podcast even when the game being covered is not the most interesting one. It's a true testament to all your hard work!
  17. Did you try it using ear buds? If the sound improves, then it may just be getting used to the tinny sounding speaker...
  18. Is it me or do these graphics look even better than the original Donkey Kong?!
  19. Where can you find these "bankswitching conversions?" I am interested in playing the Star Wars Death Star Battle. I thought about adding spaces after the name to clean it up some. Glad to hear it worked! EDIT: Saw your last post with the conversions. Thank you!
  20. You must have a bad unit. There are no annoying sounds on mine...
