If a $9 piece of plastic with essentially no moving parts manages to make it through the ravages of the postal system intact, I'd say that common sense dictates that you probably don't need industrial grade shipping to protect it.
We're not talking museum antiques here. I realize some are going to treat them that way, but that's a different story

Maybe they need 2 shipping options: 1) people who use the product, and 2) people who have a heart attack at a crease in the corner of one of their overlays. Charge accordingly.
Firstly, I don't care if it's a $9 or a $100 piece of plastic. If I'm taking the time and money to order something, I want it delivered in one piece! Since when is a simple box considered "industrial grade." You make it sound like I'm asking them to ship it in a steel box. Secondly, you would think a company like Intellivision Productions WOULD offer different shipping options for those who care that their products make it to them free from defects. For those that don't care, they can choose to have their stuff carelessly thrown together with the higher risk that it might get damaged during transit. I don't think it's too much to ask to have different shipping options. Most companies have them.
If you are of the type that don't care if your items arrive damaged, then that's your right. By coming on here and telling everyone who ordered that they are "particular" just because they wanted it shipped in a box with bubble wrap instead loose in a bag, it's their right as well. That's all I'm saying. Pointing out the obvious does nothing but make it look like you are criticizing people for their choices. I'm not sure if that was your intent. It's difficult to gauge one's intent by reading posts on a forum.

Wow, you guys are particular.
Most people would call it common sense. You don't put something in a package that doesn't protect it from being broken. That's not rocket science...
Collecting every game variation MIB...that's particular!

Got my controllers yesterday. It did take longer than the two day priority delivery the USPS promised although I don't know why I'm surprised by that. Also, INTV sent them in a bag instead of a box. This wouldn't have been my first choice for mail packaging. I might expect this from someone who is new to sending hardware in the mail, but not a company like Intellivision Productions. Did anyone else have their controllers sent in a bag? I'll have to plug them in and test them out to make sure nothing was damaged during delivery.

Yeah, I'm not that high tech to record games and put them up on YouTube. I have only so many hours in the day and even now I hardly have time to simulate games. By the way, here are the next match ups:
Night Stalkers vs Ice Trekkers
Dreadnaughts vs Minotaurs
Solar Sailers vs Commandos
Space Hawks vs Blockade Runners
-
Scores from the last set of games:
Ice Trekkers 8 Solar Sailers 7
Minotaurs 10 Space Hawks 7
Blade Runners 9 Dreadnaughts 7
Commandos 8 Night Stalkers 4

They're on backorder last I checked, but can still be found on ebay and a few other places at a markup.
I checked and they are in stock and on sale for $20 so I put in an order. This is probably the best option as of now. Tired of cleaning old paddles to get them to work for such a short time.

Forgot about that. I thought they were individual like the racing controllers.

I have a set of them and they seem just fine, but little cheaper made than the originals. There are used alternatives as well such as Commodore paddles and Gemini. The Gemini paddles are probably the worst, but the dual command versions work well.
Do they work on two player games since they are plugged into one port?
-
Since I found out Best Electronics is no longer selling refurbished paddle controllers, my next option would be to purchase them new from Atgames. I was wondering if anyone have used Atgames paddle controllers on an actual Atari 2600 and if they worked well? Also, since both controllers are wired into one plug, does the system recognize both paddles since they are plugged into only one port? In other words, can you still play two player games using the one plug set of controllers?
-
Where do you get new paddles from?No one makes them any more. I tried buying over a year ago, ended up buying new paddles instead. Which are like mint, BTW.

Yes Al, I would love it if you could sell homebrew ROMs in the Atari Age store. Count me in as a regular customer for purchasing the ROM/PDF manual of a game!
-
I hope I can still order gold plated joysticks for the next Christmas...
I have tried to order the refurbished 2600 paddles with gold contacts and they are sold out until they get more in. They don't even know when that will be!
-
FYI, Best Electronics is currently out of the refurbished paddles.
-
Any idea when a ROM will be made available for sale?

In case I haven't said it enough, I LOVE my Ultimate Intellivision Flashback! (shameless plug over)

Loving this episode so far! I'm glad to hear you guys didn't bash Zaxxon except for the fact that Coleco did the game. I didn't have this game back in the day because the arcade game was tough! Had I picked this one up, it would have been a relief not to have the isometric view during the game play. I didn't get to play this until I got my Ultimate Intellivision Flashback. You guys are correct though, it's not Zaxxon, but as a stand alone game, it's pretty fun and challenging!

They're basically the same game.
Far from it. Better check again...

I'm speechless.
I think we need to make Eric's thread a pinned one. So that everyone knows what happens when you order on day one.
Well for the record, I ordered those overlays on day one and had no problem getting them. Yes there was a delay, but I got an email pretty early telling me they were going to be late. Please don't turn this into one of those threads. The difference here is I was just inquiring, not complaining.

Mine was a controller only order and it hasn't shipped, but I am not worried at this point.
Mine was as well. I figured they must of had a big order so it will just take some time. These are going to be backups for my Ultimate Intellivision Flashback so no worries here either.
-
Did anyone else get their controllers ordered on the first day they became available. I checked the status of mine and it's been in the pre-shipment phase since 2/26...
-
I placed an order for two as you get charged the same shipping if you ordered just one. And to think I was going to buy another flashback off Ebay. I'm glad I held off. These will make nice backups for my Ultimate Flashback! Thanks for putting them in the store!

Believe it or not, I think Turbo is not THAT bad. Of course its not even close to be good, but I really like the steering-mode. When I played it first I just tried to steer the car by pressing left and right on the disc. Try it out, its horrible and you think "what the hell? this must be broken". Later I realized (or maybe someone in the board told me, it was some years ago) how to steer and it worked pretty good. So Turbo actually IS playable and the steering is pretty realistic for a nearly 40 years old console.
So how DO you steer it then?!

I bought two flashbacks and after realizing they look like garbage on the big LCD screens, I decided to have one modded as an ultimate flashback so I could load my own ROMs in it. Now I have the other one to play on my tube TV upstairs or for extra controllers to use on my PC or if the other controllers go bad. Still, I wonder if I need to purchase another set?

Thanks Paul. I was going to send them an email as well. It would probably be good to do both.
