I am an Intellivision fan, AND I think this is a poor idea, and I am not excited about it. Maybe you should work on properly editing your podcast to something a little more listenable rather than working on your passive aggression.

Exactly. People love Astrosmash and these other games because they can play them on their Intellivision (original or Flashback). I don't want to play Astrosmash, Night Stalker, or Shark Shark on my computer (except maybe in emulation of the original hardware). Is anyone clamoring for these old games with "Gen2" graphics and sound? These homebrews are fun because they are on the original hardware. You can find Ms. Pac Man in "better" versions (graphics/sound-wide), but there's something special about playing it on the Intellivision. There's something amazing about it that you don't get from playing it on a computer or PS4 or whatever. Intellivision Productions and Realtime Associates, bring on new "Gen1" games because that's what people actually want.

Probably to fund those great Intellivision products like Christmas ornaments and playing cards.

Can the game have an option where you are an Intellivision fan waiting for 6 months in real time for your overlays to show up?

No one "needs" to buy every homebrew. If you feel this way you need to go home and rethink your life.

Shipping from Canada to the US with tracking is expensive. $25 is not unreasonable at all.

Maybe I'm giving sellers the benefit of the doubt, but I don't necessarily agree. I think some sellers have acquired these units and don't know how and/or have the desire to test every button on each controller, know how the games are played to see if they work properly, etc.

Someone needs to create a homebrew game about this whole debacle. Complete in box, but the overlays may or may not show up at a later date.

I think you missed my point. I think everyone is all for finding a deal. What I was saying is that people shouldn't get on the guy's case for selling the overlays at a profit. If people don't do proper research that's their fault.

There's a lot of hypocrisy here too. That one guy buys overlays from Intellivision Productions and resells then for a profit on ebay. People here cry foul because he's taking advantage of people who are clueless about getting them elsewhere for cheaper. These same people scour ebay looking for sellers clueless to the fact that they are selling rare games for cheap so that they can take advantage of them.

Ebay won't do anything other than to tell you to leave "appropriate" feedback for the seller. I know that sucks, but it's true.
