Will they have boxes and manuals?
-
Thanks Zerosquare, download links were going to be my next request, as most of the downloads I have been able to find don't indicate what version they are.
-
Thanks for the info about the gotchas using a larger EPROM. I decided to go with the 128k EPROM (ordered a few just in case).
-
Thanks again madman. I am feeling confident about this now based on your comments and a little bit more info I was able to dig up. Time to for a bit of feline necromancy

And just to clarify, a 27c020 will work fine? I am an amateur when it comes to this stuff. The Jag bios is 128k, and this EPROM Console 5 is using seems to be bigger according to the datasheet, 256k (I could be reading it wrong). I just want to make sure this is a non-issue before ordering. Here is the datasheet I am looking at http://www.futurlec.com/Memory/27C020-10PLCC.shtml

Thanks for the quick reply. So, if I replace the existing CD BIOS with the base console BIOS, on the EPROM that comes in this kit, it should be a usable replacement? In an ideal world of course
-
Probably a simple question, but I am having a hard time verifying my assumptions. I was wondering if this kit from Console 5 could be used to replace the bios chip in the base console, if the CD bios is replaced with base console bios? http://console5.com/store/atari-jaguar-cd-encryption-bypass-bios-kit.html Here is the link to the Console 5 wiki where they list the part number for the chip in the kit http://console5.com/wiki/Atari_Jaguar_CD I am trying to resurrect a console, and my technician (40+ years as a electronics technician and still practicing) says that the usual problems that Jaguar consoles run into aren't the issue in this case, after testing the usual suspects that are listed online. he suspects the bios may have been corrupted somehow at some point, after monitoring the boot process on an oscilloscope (this is all voodoo magic to me). Each time he boots the system with a game, the boot process is inconsistent. He has asked me to the purchase the parts necessary to test a working bios in the system (He is troubleshooting this as a favor to me, because he hasn't worked on any Atari product since the 90's, and is mentoring me at the same time. He expects me to do a bit of the leg work for the free work and instruction he is providing). First he just wants to add the socket so he doesn't have to keep soldering/unsoldering things, then he wants to try pulling the bios out of one of my working consoles, and test it in the non-working one first, to determine if the bios is really the problem. I assume that the socket in the kit will work fine, because of the same pin count and package design. But I want to make sure that the chip that comes in the kit can be used with the Jaguar bios image. Also, are there any other things I should be aware of when it comes to the bios? It seems like I have read something while meandering on the webs that there are different versions of the jaguar bios for the base console. Is this something to consider? Just for fun, here is the Console 5 wiki for the base jaguar console. Unfortunately they don't list an equivalent part to replace the bios. http://console5.com/wiki/Atari_Jaguar Thanks in advance for any advice that is given.

Great song! Tingles all over when the overlay effects appeared with the icosahedron. Great watch.

Jaguar CD Unleashed: the CD BIOS emulation project

Sir if you are ever in town, remind me to buy you lunch. This is incredible. -
It might be worth doing g some research on the content of the email (search thespecific email address of the sender, search specific parts of the email to find out if it is a template, etc...), and see if people on redbubble have received similar emails with similar wording. This will help confirm if it is a bot or not. Then you could try some kind of rebuttal through the bot's system (If it exists). I am with Shamus on this one, this doesn't seem like something a human being would do.

Xenon II - Megablast! (Bitmap Brothers) - Jaguar Port
BitJag replied to CyranoJ's topic in Atari Jaguar
Sweet! I am starting to think that I should wait on releasing Flappy McFur. Nobody is going to have money to spend on it It definitely takes a back seat to everything that is going to be released when it comes to depth. McFur can wait another year right? (Now going on 3 years in development, and yes, I am quite embarrassed by how long this is taking me to do a Flappy Bird inspired clone... ) -

Rebooteroids and Megablast! YES! -
It could be one of those "Strike it Big" moments for the lucky buyer. 35 copies of Battlesphere, all with replacement Cybermorph labels

Rebooteroids - Public Testing Phase (And user created level submission)
BitJag replied to CyranoJ's topic in Atari Jaguar
Brought it into the office this morning, and have spent a few minutes going through the different multiplayer modes. We like the drive & turret setup for co-op, a ton of fun, especially on harder levels. May have found a couple bugs in Kombateroids. Rom Name: Rebooteroids - 20160417-1114.ROM Console Model: K (dumped to EPROM- M27c160 - with 2k EEPROM- M93C86-WBN6P - on OEM board) #1 When "Time-Enabled" is selected, as opposed to "Anti-Camping" mode, and then you start a round of Kombateroids with default options, each wave begins and then ends after ~1 second, instead of the default 30 seconds. (Tested with the other Kombateroids time options with the same results). #2 In Kombateroids, second player can continue to thrust and shoot after the wave is complete, while player 1 cannot. (More of a minor cosmetic thing...) Let me know if you need me to test anything out to help find the source of these problems. There will be people in and out of the office all day today, so for the next ~8 hours, if you want us to test anything specific with multiplayer, with the current version, let us know. People here are giving this game nothing but high marks, and this is with an original Asteroids machine in the same room -

Going to drop this to a real board this evening and give it a whirl for an hour or two. I have played it on VJ on and off over the last few days, and it is a blast. -
Almost 60-minutes of LiveWire gameplay footage...

So, there is a binary still floating around? The old threads posted above make it sound like the game was gone for good. -
You might be second in line.
-
No problem. PM sent.

I could send you one. Do you need a game that takes advantage of the eeprom (an official release), or would a hombrew cart with a demo on it work (something that actually doesn't use the eeprom)?

Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?

I hope that Albert is actually getting the tooling. Ever since this began with the Retro VGS, the only thing I could think about was the tooling being used to make Jag stuff again. -

Here is a list of prices of previous limited run releases (as far as I know they are limited anyways...), some may or may not be homebrew. If I had to make a guess probably between $70 - $90 for Xenon II. But I have no direct affiliation with this project, so don't take my word for it, I am just looking at the trends. Recent Releases Alice's Mom's Rescue ~$70 Another World ~$70 Downfall+ ~$65 Older Releases Mad Bodies ~$80 Blackout! ~$80 Most of Songbird Productions Releases ~$85 -
