Post-moving sale! (DVDs, games, controllers, etc)
Gredler replied to GarrettCRW's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Welcome to SD sir! What brings you to town? I might pick some stuff up off you since you're local and shipping would be cheap - or free if you're down to meet up. Do you still have the Capcom Fight Stick? Are you looking for any trades? -
The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Gredler replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Absolutely incredible. I've been looking for that game since shortly after its release. Congrats -
I've been testing a lot of games I've been picking up, and a few really hooked me to play a lot longer than needed for testing Flash Gordon - what? this game is a ton of fun, why haven't I heard more talk about it? Pitfall II - Great music, graphics, and gameplay. Super impressive, and will be coming back for more soon. and the most impressive game I've played, Ikari Warriors. I love the NES version, but this 2600 one I picked up recently off the marketplace is an amazingly impressive programming feat. I also really enjoyed Fathom, but I couldn't figure out the game too well. The control and graphics are awesome, but I don't understand the goal clearly. Ghostbusters took me a minute to understand the goal, but once I figured it out I had a lot of fun trying to capture ghosts Another game I had a bunch of fun with was No Escape, the combination of space invaders and breakout was a blast - I wish it used the paddle controller though. Overall, 2600 has been very enjoyable for me the past few days

Mario Kart 8 (free game with purchase, WindWaker etc)
Gredler replied to cimerians's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
I traded Scribblenauts Unlimited in box (like brand new) for Metal Ghost's download code, and got Zelda Wind Waker with it. I later last weekend ended up getting Mario Kart 8, and holy cow it's a lot of fun - last one I really played was Double Dash - I wasn't a huge fan of MKWii, but this one is hooking me. It might be a combination of my new TV (60" 1080p plasma) combined with the gorgeous graphics - this is the first game I've put time into on the new screen and wow it's mesmerizing. I used the code that came with my mario kart to pick up pikmen 3, which I haven't booted up yet. Overall, the past couple weeks have been very eventful for my lonely little launch wii u -
Another A+ Purchase from MTilly, he hit me up when he got some spare 72 pin connectors that I had mentioned I needed. He also let me know he got some SNES spares in, so I offered on them as well, and here are the results - I picked up these games and 72 Pin connectors from mtilly. The original purchase that I sent him pay pal for was for Donkey Kong Country 3, Rival turf, Thunder Spirits, Wing Commander, Super Tennis, NHL Stanley cup, Madden 96, all for SNES. I also ordered 10 yard fight for NES, and two 72 pin connectors. The price on everything was more than fair, and he shipped everything out the following morning after we made the agreement in chat, and confirmed over PM. The box arrived a few short days later, and to my surprise he included Madden 94 and 95, as well as the manual for all 3 maddens, and three posters that show various teams plays. He also threw in an extra 72 pin connector. The icing on the cake was the Ford license plate. He had helped me in my research of what car to get, which I ended up deciding would be a 2013. It was my first relatively new car purchase, and a huge decision as it was my first Ford as well, but he brought me into the fold and hooked me up with the sweet swag item that was just awesome. Mtilly is A+ guy with great business sense, I'd be happy to purchase from him again, and hope to do so soon. Awesome!

Metal Ghosts traded a E-Shop download code from Mario Kart 8 (Zelda: Wind Waker) in exchange for Scribblenauts Unlimited. He was super cool about the trade, giving me the code before Scribblenauts arrived to him, so I was able to start playing the game before he received his. Awesome experience, A+ for Metal Ghost!

Rare but not-so expensive games.

Maybe the time is coming to make a new friend But still this proves me point to the lengths needed to go to play some of these rare games. -
Rare but not-so expensive games.
Gredler replied to VIDEOGAMEREPAIRS's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I would think that the idea behind supply and demand would come into play here. A rare game that people don't want or care about is still going to demand a high price by nature that it's rare. I think the issue at hand is the sad fact that so many wonderfully enjoyable games are rare and expensive. For years I've sought Tactics Ogre and Sukioden II for PS1 simply because I love the prior or later games in those series, but the cost of the games are an impediment to playing them. Lucky for me Tactics Ogre was ported to PSP, I have still yet to find a way to transfer my saves between suikoden 1 to 3 because I've never played 2... Rare games suck, if I were a billionaire I would invest in a repro company in china. -
I am waiting until the end to bid too sir, I can't spend a whole lot but I'd love to have a 32X If you want to work out a deal and take it off ebay, I'd be happy to chat with you about it. Knuckles Chaotix and Kalibri are calling my name

I just received my box of games from his recent marketplace 2600 sale, and I am floored by the condition of the games, easily some of the best condition 2600 games I've been able to get so far. I am incredibly happy with what he sent me, and the price was amazing. Wrapped well and shipped fast has made this transaction set a standard too high! His friendly note and itemized list in the package was the cherry on top. Thanks so much CVGA, pleasure to work with.

I'm interested in UK Master System and Mega Drive releases, if you can ship to the US - 92119. Thanks!

Mtilly was a pleasure to do business with. Shipped quickly, packed well, and quick to respond to questions, all on top of giving me a good deal. Hope to do business with him again. A+

How do you clean/maintain your collection?
Gredler replied to TaskenLander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
For instance if you use toilet paper fibers would be left behind, so don't do that. Also, some paper towels will also leave behind fragments of the paper. I would say not to worry about it, but just make sure that there isn't stuff left behind on any of the electronic bits. -

Microfibers will be less likely to scratch, but honestly I've used Mr. Clean erasers (very abrasive like very fine sand paper), terry cloth towels, paper towels, and have no issues. I've gotten to where I just always use paper towels for easy to remove stuff, and mr clean erasers for hard to remove stuff. These things were built almost as toys back then, for kids in mind I'd imagine, not like today's consoles which scratch if you look at them wrong. I'd imagine as long as you're not using steel wool you're fine. I'd be more worried with the fibers/debris that are left behind by what you're using. -

The most annoying enemies in classic games
Gredler replied to mbd30's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Trapped chests. I hate having the excitement of opening a chest ruined by the likelyhood of the chest sprouting arms and legs and opening up to a maw of teeth. Thanks, buzzkillington.
