How do you clean/maintain your collection?
Gredler replied to TaskenLander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
^ This Also, it's not classy looking, but I keep hand towels laid over my systems when I am not using them for long time, a cheap alternative to dust covers. -
My brother and I played this a lot back in the day, and when we recently tried to pick it up and go through it again we were both amazed by the slowdown. Almost unplayable at times. I googled #2 and was surprised to hear how expensive it is, so I will likely never get to play it. Does the genesis version run at a better clip with two player co-op?

Awesome video, top notch job Thanks for making it, liked and subscribed!

What Genesis game are you playing right now?
Gredler replied to MagitekAngel's topic in Sega Genesis
Last night I got into some serious Ranger X action, hard but fun and I will likely stick with it and try and get through it. I also tried some Jewel Master, which was a also enjoyable but tough. Ranger X will probably stay in the system for a while, Jewel Master will need some convincing to return -

If You Never Had A Starplex Controller...
Gredler replied to VectorGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I was able to pick one of these from Rob - thanks Rob! Chris if you haven't been able to get a hold of him send him a PM, he was responsive to me throughout. I tried the controller out last night, and with various games, and at first I thought it was really weird. A lot smaller than I was expecting, it's about 20% bigger than a genesis controller, and I ended up holding it like a NES/Genesis controller, though initially I had it on the coffee table and used my fingers instead of thumbs. The buttons are very responsive, and it made space invaders and astroblast a lot easier, new high scores for me in both I noticed a few weird things, and I was curious if anyone else has. The first is that if you press both left and right at the same time while playing astroblast your ship will disappear and then the game will bug out if you're hit causing your life counter to drop past 0 to 99 and keep going in a loop like that. If you're careful and don't hit both buttons, left and right, it works really well. Also, I noticed when I switched to "astroblast mode" it caused the fire button to not work anymore. It was late and I didn't have time to open it up, but on the bottom it notes that a AA is needed, but you need to remove 4 screws to add the battery. I will do that, but I don't want to leave batteries in it long term in fear of leakage. Overall, it's pretty awesome thing to have. Thanks for the recommendation! -

What about a beat-em-up demake? Would take a lot of creativity, but would be funny and fun. Gameplay like Activision Boxing, except instead of pinned into a ring, you scroll to the right. difficulty levels would give you various starting health points. as you move to the right enemies would appear and you would need to beat them before "go -->" appears at the bottom. occasionally a trashcan can appear to give health back if you hit it and eat the delicious food it drops . I think it could be really fun, free game idea! -
Same here, picked up a Starplex and it's in great shape, and so is the box. Super nice to deal with and answered all my questions and held one for me until I committed to ordering. Very nice to deal with and highly recommended. Thanks for the controller Rob, it's awesome!

I bought a few games from him and he was super cool about working with me, shipped the games very quickly, and packed them very well. A+, I hope to do business with him again in the future!

Are these rare, where do you find them? Quick ebay search doesn't show up anything. Looks fun, I've never used one -
This Got a PS4 as a gift, have yet to buy and keep a game for it because nothing is worth its current value. Since getting the ps4 I've gotten a SMS and 2600, both individually have more playtime on them then the PS4

I purchased these games and driving controller from revolutionika at a great price. He shipped everything super fast, packed everything fantastically well, and was very accommodating to answer all of my inexperienced questions. Awesome experience, would love to do business again.

Marc from ClassicGameRoom is from that area and always says how he got games for a couple bucks, then I go try and find it and it's 5-10 on ebay (+shipping) and 10-20 in the stores here in San Diego. The Burgh looks like the spot!

I am in San Diego, and our hipster population also inflates the prices at retro stores. "yes, thay copy of mystic defender with no box or manual is properlly marked at 30, and contra is 60." err.. ok, thanks!

Wongojack was awesome to deal with and made my first forum purchase a breeze. He was awesome answering all of my noob questions and was very patient with my deliberations. Great experience, hope to do business again. The games and controllers were in prime shape, and he gave me a great deal. A+ Here is a pic I took after unpacking everything he sent, great stuff!

Looking for a Sega Saturn battery panel cover
Gredler replied to redtornado's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I ended up buying a "as is" saturn at a swap meet that was beat to heck, missing a button, for 8$. I ended up getting the system working, and putting the battery cover from it onto my original saturn, making my good condition saturn complete, and the beat up one slightly more beat up, and the new daily driver for saturn games so the nice condition one stays that way a bit longer.
