When I decided to collect VCS games for my collection, two I immediately went for were Raiders and E.T. It's a great adventure game that's incredibly deep for it's time. Graphics are great too. Even as a kid I was drawn to its completely. I know why people say it's "the worst game of all time", but it more of a symbol of the crash rather than a reflection on its quality. It deserves a spot in every VCS collection.

So cool. I just watched Cloak and Dagger with my son, can't wait to show him these pics. I just bought the movie poster and have it in my game room.

You're right, looks like they must have sold as they got removed from the OP. Sorry!

Atari Vault Collection for $3.99 This Week
SpotAnime replied to Albert's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
The steam controller works very well with this collection. There are separate profiles created for each game. For example, trackball controls for Tempest and Missile Command. I even bought a woodgrain VCS skin for my steam controller to add to the experience, which I bought from here: https://www.decalgirl.com/skins/291087/valve-steam-controller-skin-wooden-gaming-system -
Well I just started, so I only have a few. I'd started out with only US in mind, however, and assuming the ones I was picking up were as such. I wouldn't be surprised if I ended up with a Canadian release unknowingly, however. And, no reason for US-only, just my own personal nostalgia. With all the podcasts that folks have started to document the second and third (8-bit) era of video games, there's a surprising lack of coverage on the history of Parker Brothers video games. I'd love to see someone do a dedicated podcast to go through all those releases one by one, and interview the developers associated. I think it would be a fascinating story, with PB being one of the first huge third-party publishers, and they must have thrown a ton of money around to get those big-name coin-op conversions and pop licenses.

I'm trying to collect as many CIB Parker Brothers releases as I can. They were my favorite publisher back when I was a kid, and to this day I'm still drawn toward the beauty of the box art for their arcade ports and licensed games. I've been seeing a few different variants for the box inserts, however, and I want to know if any are repros. For example, I have seen some which have the game title and info printed on the box insert, as in the picture below: And then I've seen some that have no printing at all. For example, I just picked up this Spider-Man box which has no printing whatsoever. I've even seen one in the Marketplace with Amidar that is a plastic insert. Were variations of these boxes released in the US, or are some of these repros/frankensteins from non-PB releases?

If you lose your glaives you can exit the castle and go back to the spider cave to pick up more glaives along the way. Exit the castle by moving to the bottom right corner of the screen. I recently frankensteined a copy - I got the cart for $10, and the box + manual still with the plastic for $12. Fantastic game.

Tasken Lander's "Gamepocalypse" Sale!
SpotAnime replied to TaskenLander's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
First off, great avatar. Second, beautiful lot. I never had an SG 1000 and only a passing interest due to my interest in both Colecovison and the Master System, so if I had some disposable income I might be motivated to make an offer. Hope this goes to a great home. And eagerly anticipating what you're going to list next. -
Bought seven dust covers for a variety of systems - they look great, fit great, I love them! And they were manufactured fast, shipped fast in great condition. Thank you both!

Kevtris made his own PCB and stuck it in a 7800 case. He called it the 5200 Jr. http://kevtris.org/Projects/5200jr/index.html

I remember listening to a CAGCast in the mid to late 2000s. They used to have this guy who owned the old video game store on St. Marks in the East Village, don't remember what it was called. He had sold his store which I believe is now what is Video Games NY. Anyway, relevant to this story, once he had sold his store he moved to Las Vegas, and on the CAGCast he said he owned the trademark to ColecoVision. That was then, don't know if that's who everyone is dealing with currently.

FS: Odds and Ends (NEW ITEMS ADDED 5/11/2017)

Not familiar with that one, but I had Dark Tower growing up. Bought it new at KB for $40, and it was barely used. Unfortunately, it got thrown in the dumpster along with a lot of other childhood items when my parents moved. Been looking to get one back but they are sooooo expensive on Ebay. Great price, CjamesLV congrats! -

Goddammit I missed out on Dark Tower Sent from my SM-T700 using Tapatalk -
I just got my controllers recycled by Best, so if I was in the market for a second 5200 I don't need the controllers in good working condition. I'd just as well pay for a good console with a couple bad controllers thrown in and I'd just recycle them myself. Which is to say, let me know your price for the unit as is. I may be interested.

Any Intellivision owners in NJ/PA/DE up for repairs?
SpotAnime replied to SpotAnime's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
Yep, I cleaned it all out with 91% isopropyl alcohol. I'm a sticker for clean video games, I can't believe the treatment some of these get. But my next step was to get some contact cleaner and get inside it a little bit. Physically the MC was in great shape, but who knows what it went through the past 30 years. Yes! I love that store. Great folks running it. I was thinking of taking it to them but didn't know if they handle Intellivision. I may try them this weekend if the contact cleaner doesn't solve the problem. -
I recently got into Intellivision collecting, having picked up a lot of systems and games on Ebay and Craigslist, and filling in some gaps via individual trades here. It was my first true console as a child (my very first being the Magnavox Odyssey 300), so now having two working units (a 2609 MC and an Intv III) and all the games I loved as a kid brings back many wonderful memories. Not to mention the great community here of fans and homebrews. Last night I picked up a lot on Craigslist of a 2609 in box with paperwork and a small allotment of titles CIB, as I wanted a spare 2609 as these are prone to issues over time. I was most excited that the box was in great condition, and it also included the original (I think these were original) canvas dust cover. And the MC itself was clean, so I didn't bother to test. My bad... The unit itself is a BSOD. By researching here, it could be a variety of issues (PSU ribbon, cracked solder on the capacitors, bad RAM chips), but they all seem solvable so I'm ready to take the plunge and crack it open. But I'm not very good with a solder iron and a steady hand (although I am pretty good at Bomb Squad lol) and I'm afraid of doing some irreversible harm to an otherwise nice unit, so I'm looking to see if there are any Intellivision owners in the tri-state area experienced in repairs who wouldn't mind spending an afternoon and a few beers helping me out. In the meantime, I do have two working units to keep me busy. Glad to be a proud member of the Intellivision club after a 30 year absence!
