The controllers will be fitted with a centering mod and the fire buttons will have a click sound and better feeling. Thats it so far. 5. We are gonna release an update episode in the near future (Before the Frogger/Gyruss Episode) so that we can talk about the many updates recently announced and declare the winner for our contest giveaway. You still have some time to enter. Send your answer to [email protected] The question is “Why was the Atari 5200 Analogue Controller the most advanced and best controller of its time?” Best answer chosen by our very biased 5200 hosts will win.
  6. The Atari 5200 Podcast : Episode 10: Ballblazer and Rescue on Fractalus. https://theatari5200superpodcast.libsyn.com/episode-10-ballblazer-and-rescue-on-fractalus On this episode of The Atari 5200 Podcast... Fatigue from the holidays and cold and flu season can’t stop the crew of this podcast! But it came pretty close. This episode we cover the two games that were created by Lucasfilm Games, Ballblazer and Rescue on Fractalus. Steve and Capt. Bob compare sniffles, Pete’s inner game geek is let loose upon the world, Glen is off doing other amazing stuff, and David tests out his new recording equipment. Which is why about 10 minutes into the episode he mysteriously disappears. Which strangely works out. Because these are two games that we can talk about all day, but they must be played and experienced to be truly appreciated. And for the first time, Show Notes! Follow the links below to learn more about Lucasfilm Games. Fueled on nothing but enthusiasm, holiday burnout, and NyQuil, is this episode of The Atari 5200 Podcast! https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/kwpd7v/the-rise-fall-and-rebirth-of-lucasarts-adventure-classics-883 https://www.pcgamer.com/10-fascinating-facts-about-the-history-of-lucasarts/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/LucasArts And the article that was the most help: https://www.usgamer.net/articles/i-actually-was-hunting-ewoks-lucasfilm-games-the-early-years And here’s the story from someone who was there! http://www.langston.com/LFGames/
  7. Update from Edladdin Controllers The pieces are finally coming together on the Super 52 arcade controller, with prototype parts and circuits arriving from literally around the world! This bad boy will include: • Hall-Effect analog self-centering joystick • Knob-driven optical encoder that will toggle between paddle and spinner modes • Aux-In DB9 port for Atari 2600 and Sega Genesis controllers (2 buttons) • Digital calibration X-Y functions • Keypad overlay frame • 14in x 8in aluminum enclosure At last, an arcade controller that will allow you to play 5200 games the way they were meant to be played! When will it be ready? SOON!
  8. Episode 10 will be up shortly. We had a major issue with my recording settings so most of my dialog was not recorded. But Capt. Bob, Pete and Steve came through fine.
  9. @smbaker I just wanted to say thank you again for all of the 5200 adapters you have made. To date my favourite is this one. Can people order more of these boards from you? @DrVenkman @MakerMatrix And would Dr Venkman consider selling making these built for sale and would MakerMatrix design and sell a 3D printed case for it. I think in many ways this was smbakers finest product as not only did you have all the functions of his homemade controller but you can play games like Robotron and Space Dungeon with dual analog using the Sony PS2 Controller. Am I the only one interested in this? I also wanted again to thank that anonymous Atari Age member who built mine for me
  10. Excellent news from above average software
  11. Looking for an inexpensive Masterplay clone. Here it is: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-5200-adapter-9pin-DB9-Sega-Genesis-Amiga-Amstrad-Commodore-Joystick-Pad/274188778409?hash=item3fd6ecbba9:g:mBkAAOSw4qNeE18B
  12. Hi, there are many homebrew games I own. One for example was Sams Journey. I could not get it to play on theC64. Also there were some old commercial games that wouldn't load for me and some games the joystick needs to be in another joystick port which I physically could not switch using theC64. I know that you can add certain suffixes to your ROM to tell the emulator what to do, or change the joystick port but I don't have the time nor the inclination to do all that to play a game. All my games work on my Ultimate64 and if I need to switch joystick ports I can do it manually just like on a real C64. In the end it was an impulse buy, but I sold it and got most of the money back
