  1. I wish this would work with the Delta DS emulator somehow, now that Delta's available on iOS. Oh well, maybe we'll get something similar as a direct iOS emulator now that it's allowed.
  2. It's not as complicated as it seems, and is really easy once you play a game or two. Game pieces range from 1-7, and can move horizontally, vertically, and diagonally. Higher numbers beat lower numbers (i.e., a 4 is stronger than a 3, so, if you attack a 4 with a 3, 4 wins and you lose your 3). Stronger/Higher pieces move a shorter distance than smaller pieces. Subtract the number from 8 to see how far it can move - ex. a 2 can move 6 spaces, but a 7 can only move 1 space. Since a 7's the strongest piece, there's a way to reduce its strength - attack it with a 1, which reduces the 7 piece to a 6. You can also split pieces into smaller ones, and meld smaller ones into larger ones. Land any piece, even a 1, on your opponents castle, and you win the game.
  3. Thanks for the heads up - I just pre-ordered the ebook version!
  4. My Dad and I loved Mind Strike back in the '80's on my ECS he got me for Christmas one year (83 maybe?). We'd play for hours and hours. We both still occasionally play on the Ultimate Flashback, but this controller version makes it easier to setup and get going. Wish someone would write a modern version for the iPhone or iPad now. Such a great game.
  5. Just saw this thread. I can help with some. I'll scan them in for you at the DPI you want. (I do a TON of scanning of legacy stuff - photos, negatives, old documents, etc. on an Epson V850.) I've got: Jetsons Ways with Words, Mind Strike, Mr. Basic Meets Bits n Bytes, Pinball, Scooby Doo's Maze Chase, and Sewer Sam. Just have to get the out of the basement and scan them in. My Dad bought us an ECS for Christmas 1983 and got all the games got it he could find, which is why I have all those. Played them a LOT as a kid. Let me know if you want me to. My only request would be that you share the results with the community.
  6. Thinking about it some more, besides Mind Strike, I know they're remaking/reimagining AD&D Cloudy Mountain, which is great, but I'd also like to see a remake/reskin using the early mockup artwork that was in the catalogs for a while. Maybe also Swords & Serpents - that's another one I played with my Dad for hours on end. (Until I got this letter back from Imagic, anyway: https://www.flickr.com/photos/jbellanca/28518161411/in/album-72157667192338531/ )
  7. Really hoping for Mind Strike. Played that for hours and hours with my Dad in the '80s, all the time. Still love it.
  8. Do you happen to have a link? I just won Series 1 & 2 from eBay (so wondering if that was Rev's auction?) that closed a couple days ago, and at the time I didn't know there was Series 3-4-5, so I didn't even search for them or I'd have bid on those, too!
  9. I know I’m late to the game, but are these still available to purchase?
  10. I still have mine. My parents got it for me for Christmas 1983. Still works fine, too.
  11. My Dad and I would play Mind Strike all the time. We still talk about it. I gave him an Ultimate Flashback (RaspPi) for Christmas and he was just telling me last night about how much he loved Mind Strike. The Christmas that I got Mind Strike, I remember reading (devouring) the manual in the car on the way to my Aunt's for Christmas, learning how to program Max and Gus, lol. I'd love to see a modern version of this on the iPad where I could post with him remotely on Game Center or something.
  12. Thanks so much - I now have a fully complete Ultimate Flashback now that Triple Challenge is working, so appreciate all the info. As long as we're on this topic, I have a question on one of the Demo carts, #5853 (1982-3). If you let it play, it goes through some demos and gets to basketball... then, it flashes through a bunch of title screens in rapid succession. Do you all think it just isn't finished so is incomplete, or does it need a config file to map it properly?
  13. Hmmm, guess I'll have to try to track down that 32768 byte dump somewhere... I've got the 45058 one stashed around in about 8 different places, but not the "good" one. Thanks for looking into this!
  14. I know this topic's a bit old, and this game's on the bottom of the importance list because it's just a mash-up of existing games, but I think Triple Challenge is mapped wrong. Using Config 4, it won't even load. It makes sense to me to use one with extra ram, and that maps the block switching for the 3 games... so config 2 or 9. (3's like 9 but without the extra RAM.) Funny enough using 2, it adds Reversi to the menu (Quadruple Challenge?), but the game won't load. So looks like 9 is it - BUT, chess isn't playable on 9 (or 3 or 2 for that matter, either). So, I'm guessing it needs a different config file besides these 9.
