Wow, no kidding! You're the fourth I've run into on these boards. No wonder my thrifting never produces results anymore.

dvdguy replied to Flojomojo's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Hmm, even Radica Games themselves don't seem to know of its existence. -

Commodore Deaded for Mugu "Anus Laptops"
dvdguy replied to Atari Charles's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Whew! Well I just read all 60+ pages of that adventure. I understand it all now. People at work thought I was insane because I kept bursting into fits of laughter. -
If the Nomad didn't go for so much on Ebay, I'd pick up one of 'em and ditch all my Genesis hardware. They're still $70-$100 though every time I look.

The only game I ever used slo-mo on was Star Force for the NES... so yeah, that's not a feature I necessarily need. I have 4-5 of those 6-button controllers in this box... just haven't gotten to them yet. I think there's an Arcade Stick in here too... I seem to recall it working well.

I've been going through a big box of Sega Genesis controllers and I am curious as to which one everyone likes best? Each one I test feels loose and unresponsive... I'm guessing current gaming controllers have spoiled me a bit.

I'm confused... this thread is in English right? I feel like I need to Babelfish it... I don't know what's going on. -
why im gonna get the jap DS over us model
dvdguy replied to ATARIeric's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I believe when I first fired my US model up, I had to choose from 5 or 6 different language options. So I see no difference between the two. -
Are you a snob, when it comes to Sears TeleGames Carts?
dvdguy replied to Kenwood's topic in Atari 2600
My uncle was a regional manager for Sears in Arkansas, and it was during a summer vacation to his home that I was introduced to Atari. He had it set up in his basement (a sweet, very 70s, rec room/bar thing) and he got me so hooked, my parents gave me my own Atari that Christmas. For my birthday two months later, he sent me Arcade Pinball. To this day, Arcade Pinball is the real version to me. I can't play Video Pinball... don't even own it. -
So why did Sears call this Breakaway IV? What were parts I-III?
-
Oh I'm on a mission now. Next up: 2XL.

I'll bet those are HARD to find in such good condiction.

Should you come across your collection, please either post here again or contact me directly. I'd love to get more info on this system out there.

I like the menu system myself... and it's easier than digging through 60+ carts.

Website to Catalog Your Game Collection?
dvdguy replied to dvdguy's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Well I do it so friends and family can borrow what they want, and when I'm away from home I can check the list to see if I own something or not. No one knows me from Adam. -
It was, essentially, an educational toy... but there were some arcade-y aspects to it. Even the educational carts like WORDS had games on it like Hangman. I remember the Music cart specifically. It came with a big book of songs you could program into it. Nadia's Theme, for some reason, comes to mind. You could also use all the sound effects and groove Eddy Grant style. There's a link to all the carts available for the machine up in this thread somewhere. I know I'm going to get this and will have talked it up too much.

YES! YES! YES! I found one! It's all mine! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=5938881596 Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooray meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Website to Catalog Your Game Collection?
dvdguy replied to dvdguy's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
What if... Suppose AA offered this feature? Sorta similar to their own database... we could input the titles we owned, box/manual, label variations, etc. and it could link to thumbnails of the pics already in the existing AA database? That way we could all see each other's collections? I know that's probably a lot of programming/database work... perhaps maybe a small user fee to enroll? I know I wouldn't mind throwing AA a couple of bucks for a slick looking view of my collection. -
USPS Insurance now available online thru Paypal shipping
dvdguy replied to MrRetroGamer's topic in Auction Central
Items must be properly packaged though to qualify? What a drag. -
I don't really think that's keyword spamming... that's someone who just doesn't have a clue about what they're selling. Just look at the brief description (calling joysticks "handles" for example). Just an uninformed seller. Plus, you gotta "hock" it up to a TV.

I seem to make out a joystick...

dvdguy replied to wrenchien's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Oh wait, they're 10 bucks? Oy, keep away! Even though the Intellivision Lives! game for modern consoles wasn't well received... it is better than this thing.
