  1. That's Michael Current's site - he's the guy behind the Atari 8-bit FAQ.
  2. Here are more dumps for comfirmation: Matterhorn, Hamsoft/Amtor and Gateway to Apshai. Matterhorn was not dumped from the same cart used to produce the Atarimania dump. gateway_to_apshai.bin hamsoft_amtor.bin matterhorn.bin
  3. In addition to BBSB, the software now includes support for dumping The Writer's Tool by OSS and the very rare Microcalc XE. Microcalc is now also supported in a beta-version of Altirra.
  4. Rubbing alcohol is generally either ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, although it sometimes contains additives depending on the brand and formulation. As long as the product is mostly isopropyl alcohol (also known as isopropanol) it should be fine.
  5. The data is only recorded on one stereo channel, so it's normal for the sound to be heard on only one speaker. Cleaning the heads is definitely step one. I use isopropyl alcohol and a Q-tip, and it seems to work pretty well.
  6. That's it. I used to use Omnimon for dumping carts, but the "Atarimax Maxflash USB Programmer" from atarimax.com is the device to get. It makes dumping carts much easier and less time-consuming. Highly recommended. Steven Tucker's customer service is deservedly legendary, and he's already updated the software that operates the device several times in the last few weeks to cater for unorthodox bankswitching methods.
  7. Here are Speedway Blast, Squish 'Em and Zone Ranger. All are identical to existing dumps. 10042012_carts_3.zip
  8. A couple more dumps. Orc Attack - dumped 3 different carts, all with the same result - same as the image at Atarimania. Picnic Paranoia (confirms a previous dump). U-Boot Commander (dump identical to known dump of Submarine Commander - no surprise, since the cart labels are the same too). 09042012_2.zip
  9. Antiks is the same as the released version, but there are multiple differences in DK Jr.
  10. Here are some more carts, all dumped from originals today. Mostly these are just verifying known dumps, although Mr Do's Castle appears to be different from the one at Atarimania. In addition to that, there are The Activision Decathlon, Math Mileage, The Monkey Wrench II (A800 right-cart) and Mr TNT. 07042012_2.zip
  11. The 1200XL's cart connector design was changed, and some carts don't fit in easily. Some 1200XL owners shaved a little plastic from the front of their carts to make them fit, although you can build a cart port extender. If you have any pass-through carts, like R-Time 8, that's a very good solution. There are also a few carts that have compatibility issues with the 1200XL OS.
  12. It would be great if this device could be used to archive software in VAPI and PASTI formats; the USB interface is a big plus when compared with the Catweasel and Discovery Cartridge.
  13. Google is your friend... It seems to be quite similar to the Catweasel. Sounds very interesting.
  14. From the OP, I didn't think that it was necessary to distinguish between them, just to return $FF if one bit was set. It's more complicated if differentiation between the set bits is needed. Ah, OK, thanks. It would need to be done bitwise to work.
  15. NRV's (X AND (X-1)) looks like an elegant solution to the problem, but would VBXE's blt_zoom, with the x-zoom nibble set to 8 (decimal) achieve something similar? I can't tell from the docs whether it would work in this way or not.
  16. One never knows if Emkay is posting something... Too late for an April fool, surely...
  17. I think that might be the wrong PDF file...
  18. Here's another one for comfirmation: Gold Mine. The dump at Atarimania was produced (by CPUWIZ) from the ROM chips of the first cart to surface. This is a fresh dump from another cart, and has the same checksum. gold_mine.bin
  19. Another dump for confirmation: Boulder Dash. This is identical to the file at Atarimania. bd1.zip
  20. The Action cart is legit. In fact, a scan of a similar cart was recently added at Atarimania: http://www.atarimani...tion_12510.html
  21. Another three for verification. These are identical to the dumps at Atarimania, but were all independently dumped today: Bristles, Flip and Flop and Hypnotic Land. carts_3_27032012.zip
  22. Here is Letter-Go-Round. Again it matches a known dump from this thread, so can now be verified. letter_go_round.zip
