  1. Glad everyone from AA had a great time! I'd love to have Al come and set up at the show! OC Remix was pretty much a last minute surprise. Carlson from Mad-Gear said OCR might be coming, but wouldn't know until closer to the show. He told me that the morning of the show OCR showed up at his front door and told him they were ready to come to the convention! Can't get much closer to the show than that! 8*) We're planning a big ol' hoopla for 2009, similar to the last few PhillyClassic events, probably even at the same venue! It's hard to pack a lot of special events into a small scale show, so we focus a lot on the sales as that's what a lot of people come to these events for, to fill gaps in their collections. In 2009 we're looking into booking guest speakers, discussion panels, live musical performances, more tournaments, more coin-ops, the works! If anyone would like to be on a discussion panel regarding a particular topic they consider them self an expert in, please let me know! We'd be glad to have you at the show!
  2. A couple people have asked for a picture of the cart. I've attached a pic to this message and have a larger pic of it on my server, http://www.toomanygames.com/misc/pics/qblarge.jpg
  3. I've had this stuck in a box for ages. I played the crap out of it when I first picked it up at PhillyClassic 2001 oh so many years ago (back when I was on the organizing staff) but haven't plugged it in for years. It's #4 of... 50 was it? The label's a little beat, I can take a pic if anyone's interested in it. Fantastic game, but I'd rather it go to a dedicated Atari collector rather than I who is mainly a Nintendo & Intellivision collector. No idea if it's really desirable or not. Anywho, if anyone's interested please PM me or shoot me an e-mail at [email protected]
  4. Show's this month so I figured I'd just bump this post up on the forums. 8*)
  5. Heya, AA'ers! We've locked in the date for the next Too Many Games convention! Sunday, August 26th TMG will once again be filling The Inn at Reading in Reading, PA with decades of gaming goodness! We only had a small handful of Atari Agers at our spring show, I'm hoping we'll get a bunch more Atari Age representation at this summer's show! Perhaps Al would like to book a table and maybe a local AA'er would be willing to sell homebrews and other AA goodies at the show! If you folks remember the good old days of PhillyClassic 1-3, Too Many Games provides that exact same casual environment! The Too Many Games website is once again live with preliminary information and more info being added as soon as it becomes available! New to the website is our fancy new chatroom! Those familiar with IRC can find #toomanygames on EFnet, those who aren't familiar with IRC just hop on over to www.toomanygames.com and click on the Chat button! I'm looking forward to another terrific event, and I hope to see you all there!
  6. Heh, it certainly did! I was up front running the Halo and Wii Sports Tennis tournament, and every couple minutes there'd be a shout from the back as someone squeaked out another couple hundred points to take the high score. 8*) Glad you had a great time, hopefully we'll get some more AA'ers at this fall's event! Only a couple people came up to me and said they heard about the show from AA! We need more people! If anyone remembers the good ol' days of CinciClassic and PhillyClassic, TMG has that exact same atmosphere. And since we have the chance to charge the vendors so little for tables, they pass their savings directly onto the attendees who are there to shop! Thanks go out to Matt for producing and releasing Cola Invaders at this weekend's Too Many Games! If anyone else has a homebrew ready by late August, drop me a line, we'd LOVE to do another exclusive release at this fall's show!
  7. The Inn at Reading. 5 minutes from the Berkshire Mall. We have a direct link for directions on the website, www.toomanygames.com just click on the Location link!
  8. For anyone who's interested, I'm pretty sure I have a final floorplan now. You can check it out to see who's going to be where. Print out a copy and bring it with you to know where you favorite vendors will be, or see who's new to this year's event. The floorplan's available at http://www.toomanygames.com/images/floorplanB.jpg
  9. Hey AA readers! I wanted to send out a little update about the show. We've sold out of tables for this April's Too Many Games convention. 23 vendors have purchased 50 tables to be filled up with all sorts of gaming goodies! We have a pile of returning vendors including Video Game Connection, Collector's Cards & Games, Jersey Games, Microplay, Mad-Gear, Pocono Arcade Company and a whole pile more! A complete list of all vendors who will be at the show is available at www.toomanygames.com Matt Gauslin (Snyper) is also going to be releasing Cola Invaders for the 2600 at Too Many Games. Cola Invaders is also known 'Coke Wins' and 'Pepsi Invaders'. Cola Invaders will be produced in cart form with label, box, and manual!. Only 30 copies will be made available at Too Many Games, so be sure to get there early to secure your copy! Matt hopes this release will give more people the opportunity to play this classic mythical Atari game on actual hardware and to learn a little more about its history. To celebrate its release, Too Many Games will also be holding a Cola Invaders tournament, and the prize will be a free copy of the game! I hope to see everyone this April at The Inn at Reading in Reading, PA! For more info on the show check out www.toomanygames.com
  10. Salutations my good video game collectors! I said it would be a while until I did my next convention, but I was wrong! The pang of convention organizing has hit me once more, and this April 15th will be the birth of Too Many Games! Too Many Games gets back to the foundation of gaming conventions. For anyone who came out for the first East Coast Gaming Expo way back in 2004, Too Many Games is going to bring back that atmosphere of casualness. People can just come in, hang out, play some games, shop around in the marketplace, catch up with old friends, and not have to pay a cent to do so. Too Many Games will be free admission! We feel that going with no admission cost opens the doors to a larger amount of people to come in and join the fun and meet others in the game playing and collecting communities! If you have a huge pile of extra gear you'd like to part with, or if you're the artistic type who would like to sell some of your video game themed art, we offer vendor tables at prices that can't be beat! $20 gets you your own little slice of the Too Many Games marketplace! Anyone who does an exclusive homebrew game release (console or handheld) at Too Many Games gets their table for 50% off! Check out the official Too Many Games website, conveniently located at www.toomanygames.com for more info on the show, events planned, pics of prior events, and all sorts of other goodies!
  11. So, we're... well, by the time you read this, 4 days away from the 2006 ECGXpo. The TV commercial's airing all over cable TV ( ), tickets are being given away on the radio, posters and fliers are all over the place, all we're missing is you! Why not waste a weekend with thousands of your fellow gamers at the 2006 ECGXpo. A huge vendor market selling your favorite classic and new games, a bring your own rig PC LAN, video game rock concerts, tons of tournaments (including classics like Combat and NFL Football), free play arcade games, demo stations with classic favorites and new classics like Guitar Hero and Super Smash Bros, tons of give-aways, and all sorts of other stuff! Tickets are only $15 and that gets you into EVERYTHING, no seperate ticket prices for seperate events. Where can you go see a concert for only $15, let alone *5* concerts, PLUS everything else ECGXpo offers? Nowhere, that's where. So put on your favorite Atari t-shirt, throw Pac-Man Fever into your stereo, and drive on down to Reading, PA for this year's East Coast Gaming Expo! You won't be disappointed!
  12. I'm not going to attempt to hijack this thread, or get anyone riled up about anything, but for those who remember what PhillyClassic was for the first 4 shows, that's what we're doing with ECGXpo. We're trying to make it big, but keep the small homegrown show feel. Keep the casual trading and selling enviornment, but bring in some extra entertainment factors. While PhillyClassic was mainly a dedicated classic show, ECGXpo has a broader span, but definately keeping it with a retrogaming feel. Ask people who have attended both ECGXpo and PhillyClassic, they'll be able to draw some similarities between the two (heck, I was one of the original 2 organizers of PhillyClassic, David Newman and myself, the second year was David, Marc Pallente, Jeff Folejewski, and myself). We are most certainly not in any way, shape, or form trying to replace PhillyClassic as a whole, but we're trying to fill the gap which was left when it upgraded (for this year at least) to vgXpo. Many people prefer the smaller homier feel of the casual shows over the somewhat larger and overwhelming feel of consumer shows. To show our support of PhillyClassic and vgXpo, Rob and myself will be attending vgXpo. We hope everyone else does the same. We're a community, and these shows provide us with a unique opportunity to break down the barriers that our computer monitors have put up between us. So come on down to Fort Washington for the weekend, play some games, get some free stuff, meet some of your online friends face to face, that's what these shows are all about! Game on vgXpo, game on PhillyClassic, game on ECGXpo, and game on every other gaming convention!
  13. I'll be keeping an eye out for Intellivision rarities and any Gamecube games not currently in my collection. If anyone's interested in a swap, I have a nice boxed 2600 (no inserts) that I'm looking to trade for a boxed Intellivision 2 or boxed ECS module for the Intellivision. I seem to recall it being a Vader 4-switch, might be a woodgrain tho', haven't had it out in a while. 8*)
  14. *bump* Just a reminder to everyone, Sunday the 18th is East Coast Gaming Expo! If you're not there you're missing a great time! Tons of games, arcade, console, computer, give-aways, tournaments, me randomly throwing t-shirts at people's heads, the works! It's gonna be another great show!
  15. I don't know about the Keg o Rama part, but there is gonna be a Kaboom tournament at ECGXpo. 8*)
  16. We did it last year, and we're going to do it again this year. One lucky attendee of the East Coast Gaming Expo will walk away with their very own VECTREX. Now, last year's prize was a loose one, this year, we're gonna do it up a bit. This year's winner will win a BOXED Vectrex w/ the original owner's manual, Minestorm overlay, and the extra goodies that came with the system. ECGXpo - The Vectrex a Year Convention
  17. I replied to this at DP, I won't do it again at AA. If anyone cares to read the story, please visit the Digital Press forum in their "Events and Gatherings" section.
