Heya, everyone - Just wanted to let everyone know I posted a bunch of little updates for ECGE over on the official website, www.ecge.com All ya' have to do is click on the Forums button. Don't even need to be a member to read the posts. We're expecting around 500 people for just our first year, make sure you're there too! You asked for it - you got it! We have secured an additional *2,100* square feet at the Inn at Reading. Bringing the total amount of convention space to 4,640 sqft! What does this mean? It means that we have more room for TABLES! If anyone is interested in booking tables yet, by all means, please contact us. We currently have space for 30 more tables, so if you want to book a table or two, please make sure you contact us as soon as possible so they don't run out again! We have made some additions to the Events section of the official ECGE website. Check out the info for the Pac-Man Musical Chairs Challenge and the Puzzle Bobble tournament! Have any suggestions for the show? Want to openly discuss the event with other attendees? Be sure to sign up for our Discussion Forums! Just click on the Forums button on the left side of the webpage and talk away! Even with the almost doubled floor space the show is STILL FREE! Free tables, free entrance, free food, free drinks, free parking! We've also booked a block of room at the Inn at Reading for anyone who will be spending the night. 10 rooms are reserved at a special $89 price tag, $10 less than the usual rate. You have to mention that you'll be attending the East Coast Gaming Expo to get the discount. We're looking forward to seeing everyone's smiling faces at the show! Game on! - The East Coast Gaming Expo Crew

Depends, how do you look in a black mini-dress??? Take a look at my avatar and you decide. 8*)

Ooh, ooh! Can I be the blonde slut that gets the guy's hopes up then dumps them for their friend?

Please excuse my poor choice of words. Directly? Not exactly. I do take the capitlization of words as a strong show of emotion tho'. Your use of words that I would normally read without the need of emphasizing show that you have an attitude about what you're posting. Straight as an arrow.
-
Your comment "Over on Atari Age I posted info about the con, stone cold silence... Guess that should be expected"---that was pretty offensive. And PC is NOT AGE's sister convention. You might want to get facts straight before you make assumptions. They are totally different shows. Talk to the organizers if you think otherwise. And if you didn't get responses on AA, why are you seeming to blame AA and AGE? If the members of the site don't care to post, it's not the site's fault, sorry. Just b/c people aren't posting YIPPEEEEES! doesn't mean that no one isn't looking forward to the show, either. Yeesh. In case you don't know I am one of the two founders of PhillyClassic. David Newman and myself organized and hosted the first show together (and I also organized/ran the 2nd show along with David, Jeff, and Marc, and began organization of the 3rd with David and Marc), so please don't talk to me about getting my facts straight, I know a lot about the show. I also know that the two shows are very supportive of each other, while they are not directly connected, there is a strong bond between the two. Was I expecting " YIPPEEEEES!", as you put it? No. I would have even taken "sounds pretty lame, I won't be there." I appriciate people's input, whether it's for the positive or the negative. Sounds to me like you're one of the negatives. Sounds like you need to get your facts straight. Smiles. 8*)

Nice attitude, man. What part of what I said was offensive? I mentioned that I always get good replies from DP and that I got no response here. And is it not true that AA/AGE/PC are very much so affiliated (AA/AGE is the same, PC is their sister convention). Thou dost protest too much. 8*)

*chirp chirp* Anyone out there? I know that AA and PC are friends, but I expected some kind of response to my post...

East Coast Gaming Expo - February 14th & 15th 2004

Two new Intellivision games will be available for demo at the ECGX. Arnauld Chevallier is considered to be one of the best modern day Intellivision programmers. His newest masterpieces, Stonix and Castle will be on full display durning the East Coast Gaming Expo. Stonix, a Breakout/Arkanoid style game, places the player in control of the paddle at the bottom of the screen. The objective is to distroy all the blocks on the screen while not losing your ball. Power-ups will fall from random blocks to help you complete your task with ease. Castle, a 3rd person adventure game, places you in a medieval castle, searching for your lost girlfriend. Search the castle for the pieces of the puzzle to find your lost love. A playable demo of Stonix is currently available online to download, and a non-playable demo of Castle is also available. Be sure to check them out! These are just a small selection of games available to play at the first East Coast Gaming Expo. Be there, or be the hero from Adventure! -
East Coast Gaming Expo - February 14th & 15th 2004
ECGXChuck replied to ECGXChuck's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah, I felt the same way with this year's AGE/CGE date-collision snafu. But, just as we were all assured that it was merely the only dates available to the new show, I'm certain that this new Philly show is also merely a victim of "what was available" as well. You are correct sir. 8*) It's a matter of having our attendees pay $15 for weekend tickets and $35 for tables in February, or making the attendees pay $30 for weekend tickets and $70 for tables in the summer. Not to mention hotel room rates are cheaper this time of year. We'd rather save you guys some bucks. -
Do you spend more than 20 hours a week cruising through flea markets "Chasing the Chuckwagon?" Do you think that Ms Pac-Man has got it all over Lara Croft? Can you get to level 8-1 in Super Mario Brothers without losing a life? Think that Final Fantasy died after the 16-bit era? Do you know what a Yar is? If so, then you need to be in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for the East Coast Gaming Expo! Spanning two days in February 2004 is the East Coast Gaming Expo (www.ecgx.com), bringing collectors from all over the United States and abroad together at the beautiful Adam's Mark Hotel for a weekend of celebrating our video game heritage! Video game playing and collecting veterans Chuck Whitby and Adam Harvey have come together to make February 13th and 14th THE weekend to be in the city of brotherly love, showing off everyone's love of gaming. ECGX will feature 16,000 square feet of events such as tournaments, game sales, trading, contests, and of course plenty of game systems set up to play your favorite games of yore! Check out all the latest info at www.ecgx.com, and be sure to talk with your fellow gamers in our discussion forums! Be there or be the hero from Adventure!

Good article, but who does he think is inside of each plane, tank, and car? A violent game is a violent game, no matter how much gore you see. Some people believe the best games for humans to play are ones without villains and victims. Co-operative, non-competitive games are supposed to be the best. And no, all games like that don't have to be lame, wimpy puzzle games, they can be full of action and excitement, but they don't have to be violent and antagonistic. A few related links: http://www.familypastimes.com/together.html http://homepage.ntlworld.com/oxfordtours/games/ http://www.abundantearth.com/store/games1.html http://www.coopsports.com/purefun.shtml http://www.playfair.com/ Those are some wimpy ass games. 8*) Don't get me wrong, I'm not all about all these war sims and GTA and such, but damn... those are weak games.
-
Heh, I'll keep that in mind. 8*) Hop on over to the Game On discussion board at Yahoo (again, that URL is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gameon) and voice what you want to see at the show, more vendors, more guests, less guests and more of a swap meet, etc... At this stage everything is in the attendee's hands. You say make it so and I make it so. 8*)

Hey everyone. I opened up a Yahoo Groups board to get some talk going on a gaming convention located in or around Reading, Pennsylvania (or possibly elsewhere in the northeast, depending who else hops on board to help run the show). It's tentatively slated for fall (late October/early November) of 2004. I want to hear everyone's input, I run shows for the people in attendence, not my own personal gain, so every opinion counts. Don't be afraid to state exactly what you want to find in a gaming convention, computers networked together for gaming, classic gaming, modern gaming, console museum, arcade games, auctions, tournaments, etc... This is a show for the gamers ran by the gamers with the focus on gaming. The group/convention name is Game On, the direct URL is http://groups.yahoo.com/group/gameon
