Thanks for the video. Space Invaders is one of the my top 5 favorite games on the Atari 2600. I don't think you mentioned it but in Space Invaders you do a trick to "acquire" two shots, by holding down the reset key when powering on the console. The Space Invaders two-shots trick - Atari 2600 - AtariAge Forums Any how I enjoyed your stories and have subscribed. Below are some of my notes regarding Space Invaders: (Mostly sourced from Wikipedia and Atariage) • Space Invaders for the 2600 was the first ever 'killer-app' videogame. • Space Invaders for the 2600 was the first home license of a coin-op video game. • Space Invaders for the 2600 was released with four different labels - Picture, Text, Red, and Silver. The only game to be released with all four label variations and three box styles. Original title was space monsters. Inspired by the video game breakout. First Atari game to feature cooperative mutiplaying (My own research) One of the first games where the enemy shoots back at you The first video game to popularize the concept of achieving a high score,[1][34][45] being the first to save the player's score.[45] but no initials The arcade version credited with alleviating the video game crash of 1977 First 2600 game to sell a million copies and it quadrupled the systems sales and became Ataris first Killer-App. People would buy the system just for this game 112 different game variations It was also the first game where players were given multiple lives,[49] had to repel hordes of enemies,[11] could take cover from enemy fire, and use destructible barriers,[50] in addition to being the first game to use a continuous background soundtrack, with four simple diatonic descending bass notes repeating in a loop, which was dynamic and changed pace during stages,[51] like a heartbeat sound that increases pace as enemies approached.[52] From <http://atariage.com/software_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=462> The game has been the inspiration for other video games, re-released on numerous platforms, and led to several sequels. The 1980 Atari 2600 version quadrupled the system's sales and became the first "killer app" for video game consoles. Space Invaders has been referenced and parodied in multiple television shows, and been a part of several video game and cultural exhibitions. The pixelated enemy alien has become a pop culture icon, often used as a synecdoche representing video games as a whole. From <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Invaders> Multiple television series have aired episodes that either reference or parody the game and its elements; for example, Danger Mouse,[101] That '70s Show,[102] Scrubs,[103] Chuck,[104] Robot Chicken.[105] and The Amazing World of Gumball.[106] Elements are prominently featured in the "Raiders of the Lost Arcade" segment of "Anthology of Interest II", an episode of Futurama.[107][108]

I recently picked up the 2600-dapter D9 specifically for it's quadtari support. After playing around with it for a while, I was able to set all the pins to "auto sense" and in Stella, set the "left Joystick" to "Joystick" and right joystick to "joystick". Once I did this I was able to have two joysticks plugged into quadtari and play a two player game was is great... My question was will it work with 4 player games if I purchased another D9? Curious to know if anyone has tried this.

Question about value of my C64 collection
Gray Defender replied to iscariot's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Photos would help to make that determination. I've seen boxed C64's go for anywhere between $150 - $300 ish. 1541 drives range from about $50 unboxed, Monitors depending on the model can go for $300-400... Adding any software, floppies and manuals are all a plus... -
Just purchased an Aquarius bundle from Ben and everything turned out just fine. He's an amazing seller, took pictures of all the items before the deal was finalized. The packaging was terrific. I highly recommend this seller!! Thanks again Ben.
