  1. Tim!! I'll get back to you on photographing this painting shortly. I've been super crazy busy with my 10-day-old little girl! I agree with you that I need to take this offer, so I'm working on completeing the deal. There should be some time before the hand off. Quick question - are you planning on noting whose collection each item is from inthe book? It won;t make a difference to me in getting you the image, but I thought it would just be cool!
  2. Thanks so much guys. I appreciate all of the input. I have been offered $20,000 at this point so perhaps the $50,000 was a bit of a reach. I'm happy with that number and thanks so much for all the comments and msg's! A special shout out to By Popular Demad. Aprreciate you steering me in the right direction!
  3. I'm thinking that between Star Wars collectors, Atari collectors, Bob Peak collectors & pop culture collectors, there could be a lot of interest out there. Again, in terms of the $50,000, I don't have a lot to base that on, but I'm certainly willing to listen to offers.
  4. Would $50,000 be crazy? Some of his limited edition signed and numbered prints sell for $10,000+ Here's his bio American artist Robert Peak has been honored with over 100 awards from the New York Society of Illustrators, including the Hamilton King Award, 1968; the prestigious Illustrators Hall of Fame, 1977; gold medals, 1971, 1972, 1975,1977,1981,1982; silver medals, 1962, 1964, 1966, 1969, 1971, 1972, 1974 through 1979; named Artist of the Year, 1961, by the Artist Guild of New York; over 150 awards from various organizations, including Art Directors Clubs of New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, Denver, and New Jersey; Mead Library of Design; Advertising Club of New York; Artist Guild of Chicago.nHe is represented in the permanent collections of American Express, Special Olympics, Playboy, Philip Morris, 20 Century Fox, Oklahoma Christian College, the National Portrait Gallery Smithsonian Institution, Lafayette College, Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, South Street Seaport Museum, Wichita State University, Sports Illustrated, Time-Life Inc., TWA, Clint Eastwood, Audrey Hepburn, Sidney Poitier, Lucille Ball and others.
  5. Hey all! Some folks over on the Star Wars forum I frequent recommended I sign up here to get some help on pricing this recent aquisition of mine. This is the original artwork used for the front of the box of the Atari 2600 "Star Wars The Arcade Game" which was released back in 1983. The game was done by Parker Brothers and the artwork was commissioned to Bob Peak - The legendary movie poster artist. If you aren;t familiar with bob, please google him. He's a big time artist and considered to be the father of the modern movie poster. While Bob never did any of the Star Wars posters, he did most of the Star Trek ones and a slew of other recognizable titles. This piece is huge - Approximately 31" x 42" and had been thought to be long lost. I have a lot of provinance on this and there is zero doubt that it is the one and only real deal! I do want to sell this painting. I've spoken with the gentleman who's galary represents Bob Peak's estate and he gave me an amount that he thought he could sell it for pretty quickly, but I wanted to do my homework before committing in case it turns out to be worth considerably more. I'm thinking about submitting to Christies for a free appraisal as well. Would love to get your thoughts and offers. Maybe I can just sell it here!
