I'm not sure if some of the books are available in PDF format yet, I can attempt to scan them in and make them available to everyone.
No but they all will be soon. I sent all the books you posted to ThumpNuggets to scan.
Allan
Cool. Glad to hear that they will be added to the archive.

I should take some up close photos of the books i've never seen. or never heard of. These should be some good material to add to ThumpNuggets 8-bit book archive.
I'll be sure and take my time in scanning. I'd like to keep it neat as possible.

Well 40 mile round trip, and 50 bucks, I picked up the following.

The last couple of images are neat, it looks like a homebrew or something cassette adapter to the SIO port.
Enjoy!

Hello Sloopy,
If you could PM thumpnugget and I, we'll talk about what you have to offer.
i have several issues of BYTE from '85-'92 era (probly like ~30) if you want them for scanning, let me know... also i have some other various computing magazines for that era too if you want them but they are mostly 1/2/3 issues at most... (things like unix review, MIPS, etc...)
sloopy.

OK - you found them... sort of. What are you looking for?
Bob
Downloading now... 700Kb+, will seed practically forever. These are gonna go on my thumb drive for quick reference, or a good read. Thanks ThumpNugget!
BTW, I never got any of those BYTE Magazines. The deal flopped.

I would still like to do something with BYTE, just gotta find the magazines somewhere.
Hi Bob,
ThumpNugget has started scanning in the BYTE issues he has. I was wanting to help out, and scan in ones he didn't have. I am not sure how the best way would be to scan them in. I'm weary to destroying issues to scan them in, and if you wanted them back, I'd have to get with Thump to see how he does it.

I've been scouring craigslist, and ebay for good deals on BYTE magazine issues. I'm waiting to hear back from two possible sources, one states that they use to work for BYTE and have a complete collection, and my other source said that they would get back to me with what they had. Hopefully I can negoitate prices, and shipping. But I have a flatbed scanner warmed up and ready to scan.
As for doing one year at a time, might be worth it. As these are pretty thick, etc.
I'd be willing to help with scanning what you have Thump, we could PM for more detailed information.

Hi all,
I've done some searching, and I am unable to find a Byte Magazine archive.
I really enjoy the work of ThumpNugget and his scans of Antic, Analog, and Softside archives.
Thump, is this something you are planning on working on, or would be interested in doing? I'd be willing to lend my time, scanning in issues, doing corrections, etc...
Would anyone else be interested in an archive of Byte Magazines?
Guess I should toss that out there, so I'm not doing something for nothing.

Hi all,
Sorry to bring up an older subject, but I am going through some of the magazines and disks for Analog, I found a ATR image for Analog Computing 28 1985-03 1 Demon Birds.atr. Not that it's a rush or anything, but a file on the disk is corrupt. MICRODOS.ASM. I'm tinkering around with Assembly, and was looking at the code in the magazine, and thought hey... they usually have the assembly code on the disk. I go to look at it, and it's nothing but garbage.
I go and look on XL search, and find MICRODOS.ASM, but it seems to be corrupt as well. And the ANALOG disk image from the Holmes archive is the same.
So... I'm asking if someone with real disks, or a known good image, could you please PM it to me, or post it here for everyone to replace the bad image in the archive?
Thanks!

I really enjoy the sound of inserting a coin in any of the atari games, like gauntlet, peter pack rat, road blasters, that oh so, familiar bell dong. ah...

I recently opened up a brand new PC case for the wife's computer.. That's a smell I like. Magic Card packs, Rosin Core Tin/Lead solder vapors.

Cool!
Rock Hill is only 45 Mins away. I'll have to go check them out soon!

Hi, Do you have access to a multimeter? I would check all the buttons and the controller to your ground point, and make sure nothing is contacting.
make sure the switches are hooked up normally open (N.O.) not normally closed (N.C.)
Hope that helps.

Hi AtariFrog,
I sent an e-mail a while ago (April 20th), with some missing games (Mr. M, and a version of PacMan from the UK?)
was you able to get this?
Otherwise I'll re-send the atr image.

Nice schematic - thanks. I've always fancied moving the unit select to the front of the drive. Might give it a go now.Wow! I'm glad to see my schematic is still out there.
Hope it helps!

RJ: The disks were located. See olavese post above. They have the disk images.

I have it, & some font disks I made too. Let me know if your other leads dont work out.Hi RJ,
The extra font disks would be a great addition. I'm sure others would appreciate them if they were attached.

[email protected]: Your disks are the full version. Thank You! It looks like someone took them, and re-arranged them a bit, with an updated manual, but it's them!
spookt: the disks I had were Maxell brand, with a white labels, There were two disks.
Sweet! Now I just need to get my system up and running.
Thanks all!

Hi all,
I am looking for the Registered version of Daisy-Dot III by Roy Goldman.
I use to have it, but the disks got damaged from being out in the heat in a Garage for several years. I use to have my copy on my old hard drive, but that died too.
I've scoured the internet for files, images, etc. and all I can find is the shareware version. I did find the manual in PDF format.
Thanks.

Hello all,
I am searching for the Analog Computing Pocket Reference card.
After browsing the many issues of Analog Computing generously scanned in by ThumpNugget, I would like to find one, or one of the others that was advertised in Analog.
There is a Analog Pocket Reference available on eBay right now (Item number: 280204057539). The seller wants 24.99 + shipping, or best offer. I tried a best offer and they countered with a few dollars less than what they want originally.
Does anyone have this or any other type of crib sheet made up scanned in?
There were a few others out there, from Analog issue # 8, pgs 17 & 18, Tom Hudson reviews three of them.
Thanks!

I used Winzip to unzip the files. I 1st tried winrar, but it gave me the same error.

I just joined the torrent for the disks and plan on seeding for a long time. Thanks again!

Just wanted to say I had a very good experience with PsychedelicShaman with a sale a while ago. Great communications and prompt.
Thanks.

I was wondering if anyone can help me with something? I just got hold of a Jag CD. When I put a CD in there, it spins, but the songs don't play. It shows that menu with the number of songs and all that. I press "B" to play the CD, it spins, but no sound comes out. The VLM doesn't even come on
. Can anybody please give me some help? You've been very kind to others around here. I'm not a mean person like Kid_Vidiot up there. I'll respect what you have to say. If anyone has a solution to my problem, I'll be very grateful.
Hey all,
I've brought out my Jag system, and I'm having the same results with audio CD's. They show that they are playing, but no audio, and no visual on the screen. I have cleaned everything with cotton swabs and the old cotton t-shirt with the cut up credit card to clean the contacts inside the connector with alcohol.
Regular cartridges will play fine.
Game CD's will come up as audio CD's as well. I've tried two different Jaguar base units.
I opened up the player, and checked any socket chips being popped out, ie EEPROM, checked all connections, etc.. I did find that the leaf switch for the lid closed is broken (plastic is brittle) so I jumped it with a shunt. Still no audio with music CD's, and Game CD's come up as audio CD's.
Thanks!

When should we be expecting notification of this Estate Sale?
I'm only about 6 to 8 hrs away. And I'm sure I could find a u haul truck inexpensively.
But..... I'd have to get permission from the wife first. haha
