I own a website hosting and design company, and started a website to try and fill in this void back in 2008, here: www.electronicarchives.org. I managed to get the rights to display Compute! Magazine because it was one of my favorites when it covered the Apple II. I managed to get my hands on some 1985 issues and started putting up the complete magazines in HTML and PDF format. But the project started consuming a LOT of time, mainly with the scanning as I just couldn't make myself cut the spine of these magazines just to scan them one time, so I used a flatbed scanner in order to preserve the magazines. Eventually, I got sidetracked and have not been back to continue the work. I put effort in to making the website easy to navigate, enhancing the yellowed pages and making them look good for viewing, and included the OCR text in the meta of the pages so that the included search engine on the site would find articles based on keywords and would show a snip of the text found (similar to Google's search results view). I haven't found anything better and at some point I will probably circle around to this project again. I've had a couple of offers to help scan but they were too not able to find the time. If I were to receive high quality image scans of additional periodicals, I would publish them on the site. Or, if somebody wanted to donate hardcopies and were OK with us cutting the spines off of them, it would greatly speed up the process as we do have a scanner with a document feeder. The www.electronicarchives.org site has a contact form on it, for any that might be interested in contributing content.

Why are Apple II users "different"?

The PDFs are fixed, thanks. Unfortunately, we only have them for a couple of issues. I will have to see why we do not have PDFs for the other two that have the HTML there. The links that do not work, do not currently have any content as we do not have the rights or materials to publish anything at the moment. We'll have to put up temporary pages there. To obtain rights for each book would be an enormous amount of work. We tried to lay the groundwork for providing the content, now we need help obtaining the content to put out there.
