The Intellivision Baseball League is back with a new season starting May 15! Here are details on this season: Games will start at a new time, around 8:30am PDT. A live scoreboard for the game of the day will be on the website. The season will consist of 12 weeks, including two inter-network weeks. Each team will have two bye weeks during the season. The championship series will take place on August 7. Shortly after each game is completed, its video will be posted to the league's YouTube channel. Full league details are at http://intysports.win

Season 9 has been historic! Let's recap: Smash After many years of struggling, they finally put together a super team and dominated the Action Network. They won seven out of their first eight games, a team record, and outscored their opponents 16-4 in that stretch. Being a perfect 5-0 at home also contributed to their success. Their final two games of the season were a return to the Smash days of old: being out scored 9-1 and losing both. However, they had already won enough games to clinch the Action Network by that point in the season. Offense, pitching and defense were some of the best in the league overall. They went on to play in their first league championship series against the 2021 league champions Armada. They won the first game, lost game two, and fought to the end in game three but fell short in the 10th inning. Even without a league championship, it was still the best season in their history. Upmonsters The 2021 Action Network Champions had a slow start this season, only winning two of their first four games and being outscored 9-2. However, they pulled it together around mid-season to win five out of their last six and fell a game short of their second Action Network title. Offense, pitching and defense were around the league averages. Ghosts They got off to a decent 3-2 start, but hit a three game losing streak after that which basically killed their season. Their offense was inconsistent until the end of the season when they scored 10 runs in their last two games! Pitching and defense were strong except for a few games where they struggled. Beamriders Very inconsistent this season, scoring one run or less in most of their games, then scoring at least four runs in a few others. Pitching and defense had four shutouts, but also had a few bad games. They were also a perfect 4-0 at home, but a dismal 0-6 in road games. The last team who was winless on the road was the Mutants in 2017. Mutants They also had a good 4-2 start with some high scoring games, but then ended the season with a four game losing streak and was outscored 9-1. They scored only one run or less in most of their games. Pitching and defense were solid except for a couple of bad games near the end of the season. Armada The defending league champs had a decent 3-2 start, then blasted off in the second half winning four of their last five games and scoring at least two runs per game. They ended the season with one of the best offenses and the 2nd best defense in the league. Their explosive 2nd half offense was just what they needed to win their second straight Battle Network title on a tiebreaker. They battled the Smash in a tight league championship series, winning their second straight league title on a walk off single in the 10th inning of game 3. They are the first back-to-back league champions since the Beamriders in 2015-2016. We could see a new dynasty starting here. River Raiders They also had a solid season, starting 4-1 and finishing in a first place tie only a few runs short of winning their first Battle Network title since 2019. They managed to stay in first place most of the season despite having an average offense and defense. Except for a couple of bad losses, they kept their games close. They were a perfect 5-0 at home but struggled on the road. Bombers They had the best pitching and defense in the league, which is their strength, but lacked firepower offensively. They only scored two runs or less during most of the season and were shut out four times. Spartans They were great offensively but pitching and defense were one of the worst. They hit a four game losing streak starting in week 3, which killed their hopes for a championship early. They also could not win on the road. Deadly Dogs These weenies have gone ice cold since being in the 2020 championship series. Five runs scored in 10 games. That's the worst offensive performance since 2017 when runs were tracked, and they had the worst season record since the 2-8 Beamriders in 2018. This season, the league had three teams undefeated at home, and three teams winless on the road. A first for the league. Thank you for your support, fans! ❤️

After a tough defensive 9 innings, the Armada hit four straight singles in the 10th and win 1-0! Back to back league champions! That's only the second time in postseason history a game went scoreless into extra innings. The last time was when the Mutants beat the River Raiders 1-0 in 15 innings in 2018.

The Armada beat the Smash 2-1 and tie the series at 1! Winner take all game tomorrow!

Live from the Armada Arena, it's the 2022 Intellivision Baseball League championship series between the Armada and the Smash! The Armada are entering their second consecutive league championship series, again with a 7-3 record. This is their best team since 2016-2017, when they went 6-4 twice and were Battle Network champions in 2016. They started this year going 3-2, then exploded in the second half winning four in a row before falling short in their last game. They have one of the highest scoring offenses in the league, and their defense is also one of the best. After years of struggling, the Smash have won their first Action Network title with their best season ever. They started the season winning their first seven out of eight games and outscoring their opponents by a tremendous 16-4! They have a history of struggling in the second half of seasons, and this year they have gone 1-2 in their last three games with a run differential of -7. Thankfully, their dominant start put them in position to secure the division title before their struggles began. We'll see if they can get back to their winning ways in this series. The Smash scored a run on a fielder's choice in the 3rd inning and win game one 1-0!

The Upmonsters shot down the Armada today 4-3. Armada win the Battle Network on a tiebreaker and are back-to-back champions! That's the end of the regular season! The Bombers hit two RBI singles and walk in a run in the 2nd inning today as part of their 4-1 win today over the Smash. After a whopping +13 run differential in their first 8 games, the Smash end the season with a run differential of +5.

After a tough defensive 9 innings, the Deadly Dogs beat the Mutants today 1-0 with a walk off single in the 10th inning! That breaks the Dogs' 6 game losing streak. The Mutants end the season with a 4 game losing streak.

The Ghosts have a slugfest today, shooting down the Spartans 5-2!

Good game today! The Beamriders scored a run in the 2nd inning. The River Raiders scored THREE RUNS in the 5th to lead 3-1. The Beamriders walked in a run in the 8th but still lose 3-2. River Raiders are a perfect 5-0 at home this season. Beamriders remain winless on the road. The River Raiders are a half game out of first place and are still alive for the Battle Network title! The Armada plays for the network title on Friday.

The Bombers beat the Spartans 2-1 in 19 innings today. The longest game since 4/8/2019. The Spartans are also 0-5 in road games this season.

The Ghosts hit four RBI singles with two outs and scored FOUR RUNS in the 4th inning! They destroyed the Smash today 5-0.

The Armada score THREE RUNS in the 3rd inning as part of their 5-0 win over the Deadly Dogs. They are 1 game ahead of the River Raiders heading into the final week. That's 4 wins in a row for the Armada.

Two weeks left in the season! The Upmonsters hit three RBI singles and scored another run on a walk and beat the Beamriders today 4-1. Beamriders are 0-5 on the road this season.

It was a hard fought 10 innings, then the Smash got a walk off single in the 11th and beat the Upmonsters 1-0! They clinch their first Action Network title. It's also their first season finishing over .500 since 2017. Up to now they were the only team in the league to not have made it to the championship series. They will play either the Armada or River Raiders starting June 27.

The Armada beat the River Raiders 2-1 in 12 innings and take over first place in the Battle Network! This division race is going to the last game of the season!

The Beamriders blast off for two runs in the 1st inning and a home run in the 5th and shot down the Mutants today 4-0! Beamriders move to 3rd place, 2.5 games out of first place.

The Spartans beat the Deadly Dogs today 1-0. That's the 5th loss in a row for the Dogs.

Great game today! The Armada scored a run in the 1st inning, the Bombers tied it in the bottom of the 1st. The Armada took a 2-1 lead in the 2nd inning, the Bombers scored on an error in the 6th to tie the game at 2. Both teams fought hard until the 10th inning when the Armada scored on a fielder's choice. They win 3-2. The Armada are now a half game back of the River Raiders for first place. Both teams play each other next week!

The Upmonsters beat the Ghosts today 2-1 and jump into 2nd place, 2 games back of the Smash. 3rd win in a row for the Upmonsters. Early game tomorrow, around 8:30PT.

The River Raiders burn the Deadly Dogs today 3-1 and stay one game ahead of the Armada in the Battle Network.
