Agreed.

Okay if not a remake then how about a parody? Like make it a funny game! You know Duck Hunt for the NES, right? It's pretty annoying when that dog laughs for every time you miss a bird, so someone online added a new gamemode to it, and what you do is shoot at the dog. Maybe someone can make something like that on E.T. >

Actually I find Donkey Kong on Colecovision to be the most enjoyable, I don't understand how it's a turd, same with DK Jr. Here's a game that shouldn't have existed, Super Mario Bros. 2 for the NES. I rather play E.T. than play that turd game.

Did all games come glued sealed AND shrink wrapped
AtarinDave replied to Buyatari's topic in Atari 5200
It depends on which store you went to shop back in the day. For example, I have a 5200 game sealed, and is had shrink wrap. The store it was originally from was this place called "Scaggs"(it still has the price tag). So I guess it's a yes and no. -
I guess E.T. is not fun when you have no freaking idea what you're doing... But I had no idea about the "Game 2" and "Game 3". Thanks, guys for telling me about it. I might as well play it again!

If someone were to remake E.T. I think they need to put multi-player definitely. That would be sweet, maybe they should allow you to destroy the FBI agents and scientists, kind of like an RPG.
-
Well, At least E.T. is not that bad when you compare it to Grand Theft Auto... That game sucks

Congratulations! I'm looking for a TI-99 as well! I would recommend Donkey Kong for the TI, I've played an emulator for it and it's pretty sweet.

Interesting.

Dig Dug for Atari computers?! That game is awesome!

Also I believe they recovered a copy of Centipede...! I mean, why would they throw away Centipede?!?!?!

Not trying to "force religion" at all, but I believe in Jesus. Anyway, interesting replies. I don't think E.T. is the worst game because someone told me as if it was fact. I really do think it sucks, but I like the graphics !. However, when you list the porn games as well as Indy 500, then E.T. isn't the worst game ever. But it still is really bad in my opinion. But really, I think if someone made a remake of this game it would sell off the internet!

As we all know, E.T. for the Atari 2600 is one, if not the worst game of all time. I'm seeing all these Atari fans making a bunch of oldschool, homebrew Atari games. But someone needs to remake E.T.! Just saying, I would so it but I am working two different Atari homebrews in the works. So yeah, tell me your ideas. -CROSSWAY-GAMES

Well, for me the "non programmer idea peddler" thing isn't an issue. Because even when I didn't know how to code, I wanted to be the one who developed it. That's kind of my thing. Like you know that game I'm working on, "Undergrade"? The idea wasn't mine, it was a friend' idea. I just went with it and started coding. It's a fun hobby!

Homebrew games I made, and ones I'm working on.

I like it when someone appreciates the Atari 800 like I do, but I didn't put it up there because though it is awesome, it doesn't count as a gaming system for me, it's more of a computer in my opinion. However if we cheated the lists I guess computers can count.

So as I understand Atari sold the company and ended the Swordquest series. Therefore the last game of the series, 'Swordquest: Airworld' was cancelled. Now there have been "Sightings" of the prototype cartridge, which turned out to be fake. I've seen many forums and discussions on that topic, no one knows where it is, and in what form the program was saved(disk, cartridge, etc.). So it got me thinking for a bit, once the news spread in the company of Atari, makes you wonder if the game was even saved, or if it was thrown away or burnt. I could very well be wrong, but it's just a thought of mine. Tell me your thoughts.
