Batman Returns for da win!

-
I really can't wait to see what they have in store for us! Unlike AtariDave, I keep wanting to buy an AtGames-Atari product, but so far the Flashbacks 3-6 just haven't been appealing enough to make me actually get it. Glad it sounds like that will change this year!
Yeah, me, too. I'm very excited.
-
No. The only new production for 2016 related to Flashback-style hardware (there will be other stuff, which may be revealed soon) are two Atari items and two Sega items. Any remaining Intellivision and ColecoVision Flashbacks in the retail chain will just be leftover inventory.
Two Atari items? Hmm, I keep encouraging myself not to buy an AtGames-Atari product every year... I seem to fail every time... I have an Atari addiction. O_O

Uh, guys? How about some ET? Throw in a Yar from Yar's Revenge as well.

My goodness, it's been so long since I've checked this thread.... It's still going.... HOW!?

Pat the NES Punk did a podcast on this.
They seem interested in this stuff.

I actually find a fond interesting in a portable C64. But as amiman99 has stated, a lot of the games require keyboard play, so I'm curious to see how they will work that out. If somehow it does work out, I have my eyes on that portable.

Also, is this going to be another thread full of over 8,000 replies?

Lastly, do we even need a C64 clone? Wasn't it the best selling computer of all time? I think if anyone wants one they can just buy an old one in great condition for less than $150. I just don't see the point.
Yeah, there has to be some kind of special perk to this. I guess we'll see. If anything, the handheld would be the only thing that would tweak my interest.

Well... it's not really the lack of proof that bothers me. I guess I just don't want to crowd fund things anymore. Ever since Coleco, Retro, whatever the hell the fake thing was called - It's made me feel like a fool. Rather than have to worry about whether or not something is legit... I just don't want to bother anymore.
And I know that scammers, products that don't come through, etc are just a fraction of what appears on Kickstarter or Indiegogo. But I feel, now, that everything's a ripoff. Anyways, maybe that feeling will pass - but for now. I have no interested in crowd-funding. I'll definitely follow ideas and products I'm interested in - but I can't justify just giving people money right now.
I feel you, man. The Coleco Chameleon was a huge disappointment for me, but what makes me frustrated is how awesome the idea is, and how awesome it would be to have cartridge based gaming back. But they shot themselves in the foot.

However, on the subject of the C64, I wouldn't pass it off too soon. It is possible that something can come out of this. We just gotta wait and see. My hopes are not very high, though. :^P

Welp, we shall see how this plays out. No way I'm donating, though. Seriously, I have a feeling this is going to fail just as bad or worse than the Chameleon. The idea sounds awesome, I would love to see this happen, but.... ugh... sounds too good to be true, mate.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-64-computer-and-handheld-console#/
looks like mike has inspired a copycat. lets go down the checklist.
✓ no team info,
✓ no prototype,
✓ no real info on their website
✓ zero hardware spec
✓ no games listed
✓ sketchy CC-esque teaser video that gives no info
✓ high 'none of this accountability is gonna be on us' crowdfunding goal
✓ raspberry-pi based equivalent comparable to retron 5
btw, great vid sd&r!!!! im sharin it around a bit!
Man, you know what sucks? Seeing stuff like this makes you want it... But... sadly it does not seem like it's being done right... MAAAAN why can't people just simply NOT shoot themselves in the foot?

Just read the Kennedy explanation (p.315) again to determine at what point in the timeline he admits to knowing the protos were fake. For the clear shell fake, he says it was why he delayed the kickstarter, so he admits to knowing by that date (at the latest).
Yeah, I just posted that image because I found it interesting. Seriously, if you tried to pick up that 'console' it would feel unusually light.

Where did that picture come from?
Found it on Google Images.
I just randomly searched for some Coleco Chameleon memes, and this image somehow showed up.

Man, I hate hearing more and more excuses. Seriously, he would have made his reputation better if he just admitted his faults after the enormous failure...

Bunch of Dev Boards

Wait a minute? Something is hinky with that dev board setup under the shell. Did they just slap together some boards to look like a system?

-
Come on now, you could at least add another 10 pages of arguing about the fact that I am lying about having nothing but good deals with seanhq.
Sure, why not, aye?

-
Welp, I don't see anything else we're going to need to post on this thread, I guess we shall move on to dank memes until there's a breaking news on Mike Kennedy or the project.

There's no analogy at all. I'm just saying; there's a reason why people put peanut butter in the fridge. When you come out as "anti-PB-in-the-fridge" all I hear you saying is "I've never eaten anything but Skippy." Skippy is was the shit back in the day, but I don't eat it anymore for the same reason that I don't eat Cookie Crisp Cereal or Fun Dip.
Little random O- O. Unless there's something I missed.

Ianoid, while others may disagree with your opinion, don't let others get ya down.
Personally, I really am starting to think Mike was so set on the finished product, and wanted it so bad, that he couldn't see, or even comprehend, what was going on around him. Everything was sacrificed for the end product, and in the end, it cost him everything.
However, as the lead of the product, even if he was scammed, he is still responsible for the actions of everyone on the project. So no matter what, its still all on his head. The fact that poor decisions were made directly by him as leader doesn't help matters. That being said, I hope things get better for him. Hoping he finds a way to turn the mag around, and even if he can't, at a minimum, I hope this experience taught him lessons that will help him down the road.
Also, Al, any idea on pricing for the system and cart shells? Might use them for a raspberry pi project in kicking around.

Yeah, I agree with you. I do wish the best for him, but I hope he will soon do the right thing and tell us the whole truth, and an apology. But hey, I don't hate the man, he made horrible decisions, and screwed up hard, but I don't hate him.

Thanks for the pic AtarinDave!
It has calmed me and made me happy!

Glad to hear, I may want to get myself a Darth Vader model.

I know that this is from a few pages back but I have to say...
I am genuinely sick to fucking death of talking about this nonsense. As people who have been covering this since the announcement of the RVGS we sort of had to follow up here but boy howdy... can this please stay buried? =D
At this point I'm ready for 18 more amiibo segments... =P
Why don't we look at this in awe for a while?

Looks pretty cool, however, I don't need it. I already have an Atari XEGS set up on my desk. But if I didn't, I would probably consider this listing.
