  1.

It's always game on, on the Internet.

Just saying, I know Mike personally. I've met him, traded with him, talked with him on the phone, mostly around 2002-2003. If I look at this from the perspective of a person I know, even as a friend, rather than as an Internet person I don't know, I'm willing to say what positive things I can, rather than sharpen the axe with so many others.

I'm not making any judgement about truth or culpability.

I understand showing grace, man. In fact, I respect you for that. This being said, there has to be a line that's drawn. If all of this is true that he was using/scamming peeps for his own gain and REFUSING to apologize, and trying to cop-out, then I can't show him any. It would be one thing if he admitted his faults and apologized and took all the blame(rightfully so). Then I would respect him a bit more.

  2. Set aside a couple hrs on my "day off" today (I'm alone Fridays 'til summer starts) & played Indy 500, Enduro, Pole Positn (& no racing theme was meant), Omega Race, & became a Megamaniac.

Also updated & added scores & games to my High Score notebook. Yep, I keep a Mead notebook with lists of my high scores for my systems. I have to revamp it soon as I acquired a bunch of 2600 carts recently. I'm also now recording the dates of my top scores, because it's fun.

Sounds like fun. I wrote down my high scores for the Atari Lynx game-Batman Returns. Because really, after beating it, it's more fun to get a high score than it is trying to actually beat it. :P

Anyway, I just bought Solaris for the Atari 2600. I think I have found my new favorite game for the VCS. :D

  3. Man... If only he didn't try to use people for his own gain. Seriously, it would've worked out if he just accepted the fact that a team would bring back cartridge based gaming, instead of himself alone. Even if this console was a success, it wouldn't have been nearly as popular as the mainstream gaming today. You learn from your mistakes, I guess. Only he built a reputation to the point in which nobody is going to want to work with him. :P

  4. God I came across this thread by accident. With every post I cringe harder and harder. Is this "Natalie888" person only two months old? Reading all of this is just... embarassing. Not for me, but for natalie888. Ugh... every post just makes me sicker and sicker...

It's almost like he's a government agent trying to distract us from his secret plans on Atariage. What could it be?

    ()

  5. Perhaps River West can work out a deal with AtGames to include some of Coleco's titles for the Atari 2600 in one of the new Atari Flashback consoles. It probably wouldn't be as lucrative as having an entire console with nothing but Coleco properties, but it would still be worth something to them, and it would give AtGames more of a variety of games to choose from.

Coleco did have some fun games on the 2600, not a bad idea.

  6.

The ColecoVision Flashback didn't sell well enough, so I don't expect AtGames to make any more Coleco branded products.

The mini- arcade units with a Raspberry Pi and lcd screen are a great idea. The only problem is that a Raspberry pi is way too expensive for manufacturing and distributing and then making a profit. To get a Raspberry Pi with a power supply costs more than the entire ColecoVision Flashback.

AtGames (or some other company) couldn't use a Raspberry Pi, they would need to make there own board in China for a fraction of the $35 cost of a Pi. And given the lackluster sales of the ColecoVision Flashback, they will probably decide not to make any more Coleco products.

However, for someone on Atariage to sell mini-acrade Raspberry Pi units is a great idea. They could either be finished units, or kits you make yourself. You could print out a Coleco logo, or a Pac Man logo, or whatever you wanted. Its technically copyright infringement to do that, but you would never be sued over such a home made kit.

Well, I think AtGames are using the Atari 2600 waaaay too much. Let's hope that the next FB would not sell well so that they can look for a new system to base their consoles on.

  7. Hey guys and gals, I have a question for ya.

I spent many years at Gamestop/Software Etc. From the exit from bankruptcy to 2003.

So, i really remember how those customers are.

I was re thinking the whole idea of this machine and was wondering if this made some sense.

So, how about a Coleco TV box, an ARM Android box for sure. BUT...

it has a well engineered, maybe over engineered, FLASH Cartridge built for maximal durability.

The cart can be authenticated to the home machine the first time it is plugged in, and it can be authorized by password or NFC on a friend's machine.

If the cart is lost, whooosh, Mom/Dad disables the cart, buys a new cart, and simply runs a restore from the Coleco TV servers.

It can also have access to the Play store i guess.

Give it some decent hardware... 4K capable HDMI for streaming 4K, a quad 64bit or 8 core big little chip, and most importantly Apple A6X class graphics (Power VR whatever).

3-4GB ram makes it last well for a few years. And, ofcourse NFC.

Not sure about the controllers, something much like the XBO/360 PC variants.

The machine has the NFC chip in it.

I see Amazon builds close to this for not so much money, but they are huge ofcourse.

Does anyone have thoughts, for kids use, on the idea of that Flash custom cart. It's durable, it has lots of room to breathe so fast access doesn't heat it up so bad etc... it travels safely, and its large enough to stay on the kids mind, unlike how some DS games go missing.

    Anybody?

Wow... I'd buy that. Good thought, my man.

I actually find this meme troublesome, as most people never bother to use the chat find it funny, when there is a whole different community in your own home being shut down cause some asshats pissed off the universe of AA during hangover week or some nonsense ...

there's actually a lot more interesting things going on in chat every evening than diptards asking the same dumbass google questions and having a teenage drama every second, but please continue your witch hunt like this thread will cease to exist without your petty bickering amongst yourselves ... all the while all it takes is a bad hangover and a pissy day at work for one mod in a foul mood to shut the whole thingn down, ... just like chat... then its the same picture with a different caption

Heyo, I understand if something is important to you, but we're just trying to have a laugh, man. Not trying to attack nor make fun of others. I personally love the chat as well, it's always fun to talk with people who have same (or similar) interests as me. Of course, there's always that one troll or hacker here and there. But it's a great chat room.

  9. its funny because we're finally getting to the point in this saga where the parodies are starting to outweigh the rants. humor is objective, i get that. its the little subtleties in that vid that get me. dropping the console at the end. stuff like that. the parody with the tablet and the tissuebox was also really funny to me because the guy nailed the mike kennedy verbiage and everything.

lets all sit back and enjoy what comes about of the next few days and do some listening instead of talking. lets listen to what these other guys have to say, because they wouldnt be saying it without our discussion. and lets not turn on one another over how we feel. after all, its about making sure people are informed. there will be a difference of opinion in anything. we've said and done a lot of good here. theres no reason anyone needs to be upset with whats happening here. again, remember, we've done a lot of good in the understanding we've all shared here.

I agree with you. That parody video was funny, btw.

  10. There is so much unexplored vintage and classic material - I'm set for a lifetime!

But make no mistake, I do enjoy a modern PC-based simulation from time to time. And I do semi-regularly pay for updates to X-Plane from time to time. Maybe every 2 years? $60? Not bad, not bad at all!

Though I favor vintage gaming, I also love playing on the Xbox 360, 3DS, PC, and PS4.
