1. I wonder if any homebrew titles would be one of the hidden games? I've been wondering when Man Goes Down is going to come out?
2. I really like the box design, it keeps the retro feel of the console. I also hope that Curt knows how much we all appreciate his efforts on this, it's perfect. So will we also have some pics of Yars' Return, Return to Haunted House and Adventure 2 here soon as well?
3. I was looking at this picture on the ClassicGaming page and I was noticing how it was different from the box that Albert posted. Instead of Atari Climber they have Climber 5, they have Checkered Flag listed on the box, and Saboteur and Millipede pictured as well. The Pong pictured is just Video Olympics. I wonder how old this box they have pictured is?
4. hehe, that makes two of us. I am going to pick this up the day it is available. I just hope that it is easier to find here than the FB1 was. But the report on classicgaming.com says that there are rave reviews going around about the FB2 is a good thing, perhaps more retailers will carry this.
5. Lets hope so. I imagine they'll try the vector look on that as well. And speaking of vectors, the vector graphics on Lunar Lander (from the picture on the box) are impressive.
6. I'm surprised to see Save Mary on there. I thought there were some difficulties on getting that released, but it looks like they got around them. And of course, all the sequels.
7. Thank you that's the list we've been waiting for. Wait a second? Adventure 2? Interesting development there...I can see where the trouble comes in for the 5200 version by Ron there...and there's a sequel to Haunted House, Asteroids, and yes! Yars Return is legitimate (I was wondering about that). Thrust is there as well. Man this is going to rock!
8. I'm assuming those had to be licensed from Activision. Wonder if they were supportive or charged a pretty penny? That is a pretty fun package of gaming there though. 858403 Yes, it looks like a great combination of games. I've even convinced a few people here at work to get one (they even want me to hack it for them ) While I personally like Pitfall 2 better, Pitfall! still is a great choice as that is the one most people remember playing. Either way, I'm excited about the FB2, I can hardly wait for July to get here.
9. Don't forget: Combat 2 Wizard Polo Video Chess And maybe: Video Pinball Human Cannonball
10. So Pitfall and River Raid made it? That's cool, I know a few people that will like having those along. Is it safe to assume this includes the sequel to Yar's Revenge, or is "Yars Return" just a typo? Lunar Lander looks good and now we know that Space Duel and Climber are included. I can't wait to know the full list of games.
11. Well, after seeing NEON for the 360 as well as more pics of Elder Scrolls 4, Quake 4 and Gears of War, I am starting to lean towards the Xbox 360. I still haven't seen any titles on the Revolution yet, so I still can't decide on it. We'll have to see how it is after the prices are revealed though. The PS3 games look incredible, but another Devil May Cry and MGS? I can see an update to FF7 being a good thing at least.
12. So any news yet on the lineup for the FB2? I hope they reveal it soon...
13. I'm going to get a 360 simply because you can change the face plate! Seriously though, I am going to wait a while on all of them. They all seem offer amazing graphics and there are a few interesting games for the lineup on both the Xbox 360 and PS3, but I don't want to pay about $400 or whatever it is for a system that I may get 3 or 4 games for. Not worth it really, not until the third generation games come out or I suddenly have a lot of disposable cash to spend on these systems. The only reason the Xbox 360 won't fail in M$'s eyes is because Bill wants it to win. As long as the money and the will is there, it's hard to see it going the way of the DC even though they are commiting some mistakes that through video game history we've seen try and fail. It's hard to say what will happen with the 'Revolution' simply because it seems like most developers these days only care about the 360 and PS3. I won't buy a Revolution simply because yet another Zelda/Metroid/Mario/Donkey Kong game will be made for it. So I'll wait, even though the Xbox 360 will have The Elder Scrolls 4 (ok, the PC will as well, but I don't have one that powerful).
14. Sorry, it's off subject but what's your screenname there, Paolo as well? For on topic, I'm glad you won't give up on it Lars. I am still looking forward to Eerievale, even if it takes longer to finish.
15. That's great. At least my brother will get that reference.
16. Figures that they would be more concerned about making some stupid Hollywood like event of it rather than catering to gamers about the whole thing. I guess that's why they went with showing it off on MTV. It's sad that this is what it's come down to really.
17. Yes, any pics of the games yet? I'll puke if I find another site that only has pictures of the celebrities supporting the Xbox 360 and no game pics.
18. So is it all about the games or the celebrities they paid to say how cool it is? Check this link out to see all the "important" pictures from the unveiling and how much they seem to care about the games. Well, it's all about the money and hype anyways, isn't it? http://entertainment.msn.com/tv/xboxunveil...6542&photoidx=1
19. I have a hunch they will be Midway games, like Joust and Defender. 853601 Hmm, I had completely missed that thread. I hope that HSW is still working on YR2. And if it's going to be on the FB2, that would make it even sweeter. So when is Atari slated to reveal all the titles, next Wednesday?
20. At the moment the only games I've heard of that excite me would be Halo 3 (or 2.5 which is just a 'finished' version of Halo 2 and with prettier graphics) and The Elder Scrolls 4. Somehow I doubt that those two games would be reason enough to get one. I honestly cannot imagine the release price of this thing being cheap with the kind of hardware it has in it. Just the 3 CPUs they'll be throwing in it would probably push it into the $300+ range. Of course, they could take a hit on the hardware like is customary and hope that the public will gobble it up. I guess we'll see how that turns out, but I won't be getting one until the price goes below $200.
21. Some people get pretty excited when you start talking about Atari, and a few are like this guy. In terms of the latter category, I always offer to buy any of those "old crappy" games from them. Well, I basically ask anyone who has any recollection of an Atari cart if they still have anything lurking in a basement or attic. Every now and again it pays off. 853098 I've been trying that out at work as well but I haven't had any luck yet. Surprisingly most people are pretty positive about it. In fact, in the class I am training right now I introduced them to AA and talked about the FB2 which excited a few people in my class. But some people do think it's crazy to still collect for the 2600. It's hard to explain why it's fun to play after all these years, it's something you have to experience.
22. That's pretty funny. I've never seen the Atari Falcon microbox before. I just looked it up and I really had no idea.... 852729 For those who haven't seen it, check out this page from AEX where they have info on the Microbox and even the patent for the PS2 where they listed the Microbox as an 'inspiration' for the PS2 design
23. Funny, I was thinking the same thing when I first saw it. Of course, most people don't know about the Indreama...it's kind of like how Sony ripped off the PS2 look from the Atari Falcon Microbox.
24. Well, from looking at that pic it looks like there is an AC port on the bottom of the controller so perhaps you have to charge it up or that could be a headphone jack The controller shape reminds me of the Logitech design for the NUON controllers. As for the system...it's interesting. Smaller
25. The vector version of asteroids is gonna be on the FB2.0 ? SWEEEEEEET! 852236 Well...sort of vector version I should say.
