Hmm, I guess it could be the contacts in the slot themselves. I'm not sure if there are replacement ones available or not. Did you try cleaning the cartridges as well?
-
I just beat it but when I pasted the image it came out as just a black screen. Is there something else other than print screen you should use in z26?

Sweet pics! I swear in my wrath that I will one day own that many 2600 carts! Of course I have yet to break 200 although I need to buy a second bin now to store all of the games I've purchased lately (I haven't counted my cart collection in a while, so perhaps I should do that sometime ) Congrats on the 500!
-
I'll give it a shot. I have a feeling that after this is released on cart I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time playing it over and over again. It's a lot of fun.
-
I've almost beaten the game. I believe I made it to level 7 and I died. Oh well, I should give it another shot. I forgot about the hidden area while I was playing though. I should keep an eye out for that.

I woulsn't mind seeing more completely original games, like the ones we have on the way. That makes the Jag a more exclusive and cooler system to own in the long run. That's probably one of the things I love about the Jag the most...more original games that you won't find anywhere else. Obviously it still needs more just like the 7800 does.

Tetris hasn't been ported yet, but Klax has. And Klax is a worthy puzzler to have.

I want to get Double Dragon fro the ATARI 7800
Shaggy the Atarian replied to RandomPerson's topic in Atari 7800
Well, at least we have a good idea in the future for a game to clone. If anyone wants to clone something on the 7800, DD would be a good canidate. -
Who is working on what? (homebrews)
Shaggy the Atarian replied to Shaggy the Atarian's topic in Atari 7800
It seems like kenfused has been able to port BeefDrop over from the 5200 with relative ease so perhaps that clone wouldn't be too hard. Speaking of Scrapyard Dog, where is CV at? I've been trying to contact him sbout my copy of the game which I'm still waiting for. -

Shaggy the Atarian replied to RandomPerson's topic in Atari 7800
I've been curious about the screenshots I've seen of DD on the 7800. TO be honest, from the shots here at AA it looks like crap. But on a few other sites I've seen shots where it looks much better. Is that because of the difference between the emulator and the real thing or something else? -
I missed this thread back in the day and when it came up again I thought that it was about Moutain Dew Live Wire. Silly me That sucks that it was lost. It looked like it would have been a great addition to the Jag library. But at least there are other games out there. Good luck on getting those other two games Carl. I'll be sure to purchase a copy of each. But even more so, congratulations on the new addition to your family!

Which atari should i pick up first?
Shaggy the Atarian replied to sega saturn x's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Isn't this vaporware? It's been trotted around as "coming soon" for about 10 years now. I had been thinking the same thing until the programmers showed off a bunch of screenshots somewhat recently and gave K3V the beta version to test out. It looks a lot different now, it's pretty impressive, although I have no idea when they plan on finishing it. I think they've kept it under wraps because it has taken so long but it still is in development. You can see some of the latest screen shots here but you have to register and become a member to check them out. -
Your "Personal hardest" games to get for your coll
Shaggy the Atarian replied to Atari-dj's topic in Atari 2600
I'm still looking for SpiderMan, Infiltrate, Congo Bongo, Quest for Quintana Roo(the non-Telegames one) and Mines of Minos. I played these games a lot as a kid over at my friends house and for some reason them seem a little hard to come by. Spiderman should be easy, I guess I'm not looking hard enough. But I'd really like to get Mines of Minos. -
Man Goes Down Label Contest
Shaggy the Atarian replied to Albert's topic in AtariAge Sponsored Contests
OK, this is my first label ever for a contest. I admit that it's kind of derivitive, but I hope it works. It's not 100% done yet. I've also thought of making the background black, but then it would loose it's Pitfall-ness style to it. What do you guys think? (It's not showing up in the preview, so I'll cross my fingers and post...) -

I would also recommend the 7800 and the Jaguar. The great thing about any Atari system you chose is that there are new games coming out for them so no matter which one you pick, you'll not only be getting a good system with fun games, but you can look forward to future releases. Personally I like the Jaguar a lot even though it's generally frowned upon. It's got some great games like Tempest 2000, AvP, BattleMorph, Iron Soldier, Zero 5, etc. And soon it's going to have some great games like Gorf 2000, Mad Bodies, Clicks and Eerievale. If you're looking for handheld action the Lynx is the way to go. It has a great library and the largest game library after the 2600. ComLynxing on many games is a lot of fun. The 7800 is great not only due to it's backwards compatability with the 2600 but it has some crazy original titles of it's own, like Ninja Golf. It also has some of the best arcade conversions you'll find on an Atari system, like with Joust, Ms. Pac-Man, Centipede and here shortly Burgertime(to be called BeefDrop). Any way you go you'll probably enjoy it a lot. I can't say anything about the CV (never had one) but it's good to own an Atari. -
Now that's dedication. I think it would be great to have a sort of Swordquest-"Enhanced" series. Make it so you don't need the comic book and as LT mentioned, give the game a point. Of course I'd like to see a reiteration of it done on the 7800, but the 2600 would be just as nice to see it on.

I feel like I'm coming in late on this, but I've been playing this and it's a lot of fun. It certainly has improved on concepts you find in Venture and I can hardly wait to play it on the real thing. Awesome work!
-
It would be interesting to see if any of their NUON projects could be found. I doubt they would have many Atari related items, but you never know
-
It was probably something that happened along the lines with Gremlins for the 5200. I bet that the first 7800's were already being shipped and nothing could be done about it, but to prevent any further shipments Jack-o T. proclaims that video games suck and that computers are the only thing Atari will work on. ...at least for two years.

That's a really nice cabinet and for $40 you can't go wrong. That sucks about the fuses though. But this is one I hope to add to the collection one day. -
I think the most complex screen would go to E.T. Best looking would be Centipede.
-
I gave that a shot a few times and I actually made it to level 2 once. Then I died a horrific death. Now I'm thinking that I should get a Redemption controller to take care of my problem

Interesting story. He really, really, really wanted to be a Captain It looks like he got his final wish in Star Trek: Shattered Universe. A whole game based on an adventure where you follow Captain Sulu in the alternate universe. Speaking of that universe, they haven't done one of those on Enterprise yet, have they (I missed out on the first two seasons as I was out of the country at the time)?

Atari 2600 - Universal Prototype Release
Shaggy the Atarian replied to Curt Vendel's topic in Prototypes
I see, I should have remembered to check there. But when I saw that pic it really made me wonder about it. To be honest I had never heard of Turbo before today. I suppose the mystery around this one will never be solved. -
