What Xbox 360 game are you currently playing?
hex65000 replied to moycon's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
Red Faction Guerrilla and Geometry Wars 2 right now. Trying to finish Red Faction so I can return it to the owner. Especially since he hated Eat Lead. If anyone else here is a GWars 2 fan, I'm always down with seeing how I stack up v/s fellow AAers. Zeptari and Lord Helmet have seen some competition (they probably didn't know it though. so it's ninja competition). Of all the modes, Pacifism and Waves are the ones I just suck at. In that Pacifism can be a 20second game. Hex. [ Doesn't know why, but even on the Wii, I was always really competitive at this game. I'm not great per-se -- just competitive. ] -
No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle for Wii is $35 new on Amazon. As usual, the link at the top is most handy. Hex. [ Is currently chasing down the PS2 Sakura Wars game... we'll see how that goes. ]

Batman Arkham Asylum for XBox360 and PS3 is $27 on Amazon today. The link in the first post will take you there. Hex. [ Wonders which "thing to do" he should attack first... ]

While I'm not a fan of DLC, Geometry wars 2 is at 400 as a special. Yes I picked it up. Bask in my hipocracy. Hex. [ _LIKES_ Geometry Wars, and is gunning to beat Lord Helmet right now... ]

Comon folks, this it silly. Kevin, if Ebay gives you grief, just throw the lot up on GameGavel. At least that way you won't be whacked with fees as badly. Not to mention you're supporting a local(ish) business v/s the corporate stupidity that is EBay. My response to the broken English response is simple. " In future have eyes checked. Eyes that not checked leave empty boxes that not fill in." And yes, the attached picture is silly. View it as such. Hex. [ Now that we've derailed stuff, lets get back to the EBay is jumping the shark commentary. ]

Interestingly, after you said that I went and looked at his other auctions. He does have some nice looking Gen1 transformers stuff. (Yes, I'm also quite familiar with Transformers. Why do you ask? ) But his prices are honestly really wacky. A couple of the accessory BINs are high but unsurprising. (TF accessories can sometimes yield more money than a complete toy.) That said, the sticker sheet prices are stupid expensive and he had a loose group of Aerialbots graded and slabbed, @ $900. Yet the Constructicon set, while nice looking, he home-slabed, are not graded, and if you aren't paying attention are actually loose that he mounted in place with paperclips. It looks like the wait for everything to load is a carry-over from his toy auctions. There are typically a lot of pictures in the ones I looked at. Lastly, the "Broken Starscream Fist" auction is incorrect. That's possibly a broken Thundercracker fist he's selling. Starscream's were dark blue, Skywarp's were lavender, Thundercracker, Thrust, Ramjet, and Dirge's were black. I can't tell if it's a cell-phone camera screwing up the picture or what, but this guy sees dollar signs in everything he sells that is certain. I really think this guy should just stick to toys. I don't want this level of fail existing in my other hobbies too. Hex. [ Perhaps drinking will get that crotch shot out of my head. Ewwww... ]

Wow, I didn't even realize he was dumb enough to have that graded. I thought it was pathetic that his logo is some hip-hop car with a crotch shot. That just screams money and class right there. Also while that plastic case is nice and all, wont the box get banged up a bit sloshing around in there? They need a little LCD display to decrement the value of the item every time it's tilted 90degrees. You bought an "80" but it's now a -6 when it arrives in the mail. Oh, and it was a -2 but you just HAD to shake the box before opening it didn't you? Hex. [ VGA: separating prospecting chumps from their money since they made the idea up and pretended they were awesome. ]

Preorder for 7800 Worm! standard edition
hex65000 replied to GroovyBee's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
While I lucked out, and will be receiving a #40 cart eventually. (<grump at the post office>) I'm glad to see that there's another window for folks to pick this up. I hope this gets the demand it deserves. Hex. [ Currently has one missing package -- we are not happy about this... ] -
I bow to your might. This is what this thread was for. Hex. [ Has been known to get things while the getting looked good... ]

I think I will try to do some fixed price sales on my new and sealed items. We'll see if I get any takers on Batman, Kessen, and Hotel Dusk... <shrug> Also, Bump for one of the two Castlevania titles is ending tonight. Everything is (I think) reasonably priced. Hex. Dragon Age: Origins for the Xbox 360 and PS3 are on sale for $40 (PC version is $35) today on Amazon. Again, the link at the top will get you there. Carry on citizens... Hex. [ Played a couple of things last night... not sure how I feel about them at the present... ]

Very likely, or if I do break down and go that route, my buying habits will be much different than they are currently. My current mode is if it's interesting looking and I think I can justify the price, then I'll pick it up. If I don't like it, I'll sell/give it to a friend or auction it off on GGavel. Of course the DLC model is working hard to break that approach. In a way, it's their loss, not mine. If I jump on the DLC wagon I know that I'll be a lot more selective because of DRM being a barrier if a system fails and that I really don't own anything. And to be honest, I don't pay $60 for games. I do purchase legitimate copies (unlike my days as a teenager ;v] ), but my price point is typically not at the MSRP. It rarely is. For a new game $50 is my threshold for pain, and it has to be pretty special or I'm feeling exceptionally weak to shell out at that price. I have concluded that I place my own value on things -- not in the interest of resale, but the item's value to me in my mind. This gets me into trouble with high desirability items since I don't place the same value on it as a typical collector. Conversely at the low end, a good game that's fairly common I might put a higher value on than some people might. For example Tetrisphere for the N64. Is a great puzzle game with a solid techno beat and challenging gameplay. It's also pretty common. I'm prone to price it higher -- if I were selling it because in my mind it's such a good game and has more value to it. But I'm talking about tangible games. Those are soooo out of vogue. I know I'm missing out on some pretty cool games that are download only. I have a handful of DLC that I've bought. Even though I have a ton of 'points in my hand' I'm loathe to spend them. I'm already annoyed at myself for not holding out on the Borderlands DLC. They're releasing two of the three expansions in the near future, and I really don't want to buy them again. And I'm sure they'll do a GOTY edition like they currently are with Fallout 3. Then there are games I'm torn about; the upcoming Transformers: War for Cybertron looks _AWESOME_. If I shell out the preorder cash at Gamestop (not my favorite place -- ever) I can get a "Shockwave" DLC character to play with. First of all, I am a pretty serious TFormers fan -- I've scaled back a lot lately since there's too much to chase with limited funds. The game looks cool, Shockwave is a cool character and also looks neat. To get these things I have to support Gamestop, DLC, and Activision. This does not make me happy, and I'll probably hold out till I find it under $40 and still not grab the DLC. Lastly, one last thing that makes me go "Oh HELL no." to DLC. I was playing Rumble Roses XX this morning. (Don't laugh, it's mean) When I was done playing I decided to just see if there was any free DLC I could add to the game. The one thing they had available was character costumes. About 86 or so of them, at 80 points a pop. No combo pack, definitely nothing free. Now, if I wanted to be a completest and download every costume available I'd spend $86! Which is like rebuying the game new nearly 3 times! I don't need the costumes, and I'm sure there was some work beyond palette swapping involved, that's still a lot of money to just rent costumes that will get lost. I'm thinking... no. And seriously, I feel like a broken record when I say "I will never EVER finish all the games I have if I stopped buying games today and played for 12 hours a day". Hex. [ "Everything spins like a broken record..." They Might be Giants ]

Wake me when there is a physical copy released. Oooh. Bad unintentional pun. I like Hydro Thunder, and this sounds pretty cool. Still no media = no purchase here. Hex. [ Has two drawers of SNES left to inventory... Glee! ]

Oh no... I've been on a rampage the past few months buying stuff up. For example, my XBox 360 collection started at about 15 or so games, and has mushroomed over 50 in the past 4 months. The Wii hasn't seen that level of expansion, but it and the DS collection are both steadily on the rise. All the while up until 3 days ago I've been mostly playing Borderlands. I finally had to take a break when I realized I had hit the proverbial 'wall' in my single player skill. I'm now cycling between Eternal Sonata and Red Faction Guerrilla for XBox 360 and FF3 and a handful of other games on the DS. Then there's the "previous generation" stacks... I'm trying to hunt down the last few XBox 1 and GameCube titles I want. PS2, I'm continuing to be on the lookout for titles I missed out on previously. In terms of numbers, a rough guestimate is GCube: ~100+, XBox: ~150+, PS2: ~300+ My inventory of these are still incomplete. I can stop buying games today and have something to play for the rest of my life. Of course that's the problem with modern games that I run into "Do I have at least two hours to block out and start this game?" In reality, I prefer more like 4-5 hours -- especially if I get sucked into the story. That said, bear in mind at least these games won't self-destruct when some corporate doorknob chooses. That's the best thing ever about the previous generation... Hex. [ Pulled the trigger on 9 more XBox 1 games in under an hour. Scary. ]

I was gonna say, isn't No More Heroes 2 out already? Hex. [ Poor Travis... I always wonder if that is a similar but different incarnation of him in Killer 7... ]
