  1. Does this mean flash it every time I want to switch back and forth, or just the first time I use it for each controller?
  2. Just my 2 cents on this since the OP already picked the replacement set. I've had my Yamaha YST-MS50 speakers for nearly 20 years and they sound as good as when they were new. The sub under the desk is a bit of a hassle, but I'll live with that. That being said, I purchased the Amazon basics AC powered pair for $20 when I was building my arcade cab and I am pretty impressed by the sound for what I paid for them.
  3. I also went with the Kinovo, but made sure I got the model that all the connections are in the back. I paid the $30 for the 4k version with 5 inputs (XBox 360, XBox One, PS3, PS4, Video Jukebox). It works absolutely great, except the auto switching is touchy when I first turn everything on. This might be due to my using a smart power strip so it gets power after the TV is started. The little remote is a nice touch, too. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YNM4HNW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 No longer available, but I'm sure that's because the new version is out.
  4. Stop, just stop. How many times are people going to put their hand on this hot stove before they realize they are going to get burned?
  5. We love the Dimension series. My 6 year old daughter and I play together in 2 player co-op and get hours of enjoyment out of each set. We wait until they are over 6 moths old and the pick up the packs with my Best Buy Rewards for less than half original price. The build instructions are part of the game (online isn't necessary), there are 3 levels of upgrades for each vehicle. As the game progresses and you level up, you modify each vehicle, basically getting to build it 3 separate times. Each set opens up a different world, and many of these are larger with more content than some AAA games if have played. In between our gaming sessions, she can use the LEGO sets to play with her other LEGOs. When you look at the prices of regular LEGO sets, we pay about the same price and get the video game content as well.
  6. Bringing this thread back to life. Does anyone have real world experience with these adapters? They seem to be the answer to all of my Retropi needs as far as using Intellivision, Colecovision, Atari Paddles, and Atari driving controllers. I'd just like to get some recent feedback on the product and the seller. Thanks http://www.retronicdesign.com/en/
  7. You'd be surprised. The Trinitrons that can handle component are already being sold as retro gaming TVs and are in the $20-$50 range. Goodwill no longer accepts CRT's, so places where one can find a GOOD CRT are already drying up. I'm surprised you paid someone to take yours away. Curbside bulk trash is monthly around here and a Craigslist ad for a free CRT brings people around within hours.
  8. I think we will see a specialty manufacturer of CRTs in a few years when the supply finally dries up. Many are dumped into landfills, left on the curb for bulk trash, or finally die. Demand will eventually overcome supply and someone will step in to fill the void. That being said, I'm sure the prices will easily be higher than most will be willing to shell out. If a no lag converter priced under $100 comes available, then ignore everything I just typed above.
  9. I have a 36" Trinitron and we love it for retro gaming. It only cost me $10 and a hernia to get it into place. If you have room for one, go for it. As far as a comparison, here is my shameless plug for a video we made on the subject:
  10. This gives me another opportunity to shamelessly plug my YouTube video... I like it, do you mind if I reference it and give it a plug on my channel?
  11. We plan on moving to another state in the Fall, so I need to curtail any major additions to my collection. I may sell off my Arcade pedestal, and I have 2 extra Electronic Talking Battleships to unload. That being said, I would like to get my hands on a 7800 with S-Video mod, 2 newer Vectrex and Colecovision controllers, and any 2600 and Colecovision carts I don't have.
  12. I understand the humor, but am I the only one going to call out this pic? That's a game cleaner in the middle, not for playing, a Master System converter for a Genesis game, there is a Game Genie inserted, 2 Sonic & Knuckles simply stacked on top of each other (they even peeled the label off one), and the CD drive is open. Any system could be made to look worse if you stage it correctly, leave it dirty as can be, and lean it up against your leg in green cargo pants.
  13. LEGO Dimensions Batman Movie - XBox One Mortal Kombat - Genesis Bowling - 2600
  14. With the proliferation of RetroPi, anyone has the ability to make hideous gaming consoles. As much as I love my Vectrex, it is an ungainly, awkward and unattractive beast.
  15. I remember computer class in my freshman year of high school. If you were finished with your work for the week, you could play games. We had TRS-80s back then, and Star Trek was my favorite.
  16. People in the past didn't have electricity to begin with. Now our society is based upon it. Lights, information, banking, refrigeration, etc.
  17. How do I embed instead of attaching thumb?
  18. The Road may be the single most depressing movie I have ever seen. All animals are dead, all plants are dead, there is no hope whatsoever. I love playing Fallout. Maybe it's the campy 1950's feel, but at least there is food and society has carried on in some form. Back to the OP, as others have stated, if it's not running (plugged in, batteries, engine, etc), EMP should not effect it. Once the wave has passed, it will be safe to turn everything back on.
  19. Star Castle and Space Wars were great in the arcade. But the best memories come from the 2 player Atari football in the arcade with trackballs. It was just Xs and Os, but I would love to find one to play today (and find room for it in my house).
  20. LEGO Dimensions Beetlejuice and PowerPuff Girls - XBox One Gauntlet Legends - Dreamcast Pong - Magnavox Odyssey 300
  21. Any idea when those are actually going to be back in stock? I'm curious how much better it would look than the S-Video mod I'm using through the 32X
  22. This makes sense. I don't have an Everdrive, yet, so I haven't encountered this issue. I always run the complete setup, especially since I am using the extender plate on the CD to secure the mixer cable and my S-Video mod is located on the 32X.
