  1. @arcadeshopper Except the sprite issue during startup (which get solved automatically after the programs goes to the next round) I managed to get it working, so I guess it is to find the right PC (program counter) as start address compu7_8.BIN
  2. Interesting I did not know that. Just played around with it (without knowing what I am doing), but managed to get this far: compu5_8.BIN (prompt Compucar, titlescreen compucar and it returns to the TI titlescreen)
  3. Difficult to make a screenshot of the high-score as once games completes it goes directly to the main screen and high-score is not displayed anymore. 9905 score
  4. @Tursi / @mizapf (and any others). Do you know if it is possible to make a .bin for the @compucar program to load on the FinalGrom ? (I have looked into ModuleCreater 2.0, but not sure how that works with DIS/FIX 80 files). (EA option 3 DSK1.@COMPU-CAR, then enter and COMPO to load it) CAR.dsk
  5. Another thread: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/218727-ti-99-photos-thread-post-your-systems-here/?tab=comments#comment-2868453 And my setup https://atariage.com/forums/topic/218727-ti-99-photos-thread-post-your-systems-here/?do=findComment&comment=4565730
  6. Thank you, I will try the cleaning part first. I still have a 5th 1x drive which I swapped and working directly but afraid it will stop soon. My guess I need to find the problem at the drives first. Was thinking that the magnetic foil on the disks might give problems. But will clean heads again
  7. Tipi with sidecar 32K + Tipi board is straightforward with Raspberry Pi 3B+. For PEB also see thw Gotek floppy emulator option. Arcadeshopper has setup ones. You need to set it up knce then Easy to copy .dsk files to a USB
  8. Thank you, there are several types per chip. Like 10F1, 12F1, A, B, CDIP. Does it matter which one?
  9. Okay will try to open up and reseat it hope that works.
  10. What could suddenly be the problem, do I need to do white lithium grease maybe for the motor control? I tried cleaning the heads already (not sure i do something wrong here). Watched some youtube videos on how to fix it, maybe need to dissassemble the whole drive? (Configuration is TI-99/4A with BWG DSDD controller). Problem with 5.25 diskdrives, they suddenly start to stop working (or reading disks). I copied about 40 floppies recently then i cannot get the drive to read disks (disk are spinning). Also Initializing/formatting seems to give issues (looks like damaging the disk, not sure if that has to do with the quality/old disks of 35-38 years old. But most disks read okay. (Already tried removing PEB cards to have more power. Also removed the 3.5 drive. But only have a gotek still connected. I find it weird that it happened to 4x drives.
  11. Suddenly my Beige TI locksup to the F18A screen and sound has been working for long time. Any clue what it can be? Switched now to my spare one with F18A.
  12. @9640News can I use the TL866 to program the MDOS 2.0 EPROM. And Tipi EPROMs? But which type EPROM exactly is needed to order? https://www.9640news.com/bios/geneve-v0-99-beta-bios-update/ https://www.classic-computers.org.nz/blog/2012-10-21-eproms.htm
  13. Car Wars 28,710 (managed to get to the level with 3 cars wihout crash then it is 12,000 max. Score). The trick is to get the 2 or 3 computer cars/sprites to overlap each other.
  14. I have not looked into gamebase yet but look at js99er.net under more modules. Also the italian uig has thumbnails to choose games directly (based on js99er). And prevideos or images can also be done with retropie. More videos on my channel
  15. Let's do a double game again (similar like Frogger / TI-Toad in May 2017) I cannot believe that we did not do a Car Wars competition before, it was one of my first modules we had as a kid. This time from one war to the other war: 1. Car Wars (PHM 3054) and @Compucar (German clone of Car Wars, but the cars add dots as well) 2. Score. We count the Car Wars score first as highest score and @compu-car as second competition for fun. (Highest on Car Wars was 121,000) 3. Files: Disk version: CAR.dsk (see instructions below how to load the files) Finalgrom Car Wars:phm3054G.BIN Finalgrom: (maybe someone can make a .bin version) 2. Editor/Assembler module 1. TI-BASIC -- OLD DSK1.GROMLOAD (after the 3 files are loaded) enter "CARWARS" then in the menu option 3. 3. Editor/Assembler module option 3 - Load and Run. DSK1.@COMPU-CAR once loaded press enter type "COMPO" to start the game. Historical Car Wars - High Scores: Mar 1983 Nov 1982 Jan 1983 Apr 1983 Jun 1983 Aug 1983 Sep 1983 Nov 1983 Vol1. No6 Mar/Apr82 YN 11/93 Car Wars (5th board with 3 computer cars) (13th level) 97,380 39,270 21,060 26,090 25,610 32,740 48,370 121,000 20,700 6,050 (kid 36,630) Ed McNair (Brandon, FL) Scott Savage Daryl Henry (of Sardis, BA, Canada) Glynn Johnson (Houston, TX) Brian Klamik (Riverside, IL) Janie Reddington (Palatine, IL) David Trost (St. Louis, MO) Ron L. 16. Computer Wars result: 1. Globeron - 29,850 2. jwild - 5,200 3. OLD CS1 - 4,900 4. Count9929A - 3,250 5. roadrunner - 1,800
  17. just came along this post of yours - http://pascal.hansotten.com/uploads/ucsd/ti/SYSMAP.TXT (via this one: http://pascal.hansotten.com/ucsd-p-system/texas-instruments-and-ucsd/) but I am going to "park" the PSYS emulation on the Geneve for a while as I have a real TI with P-code card and did not much with it, but have some disks and no time yet to investigate it.
  18. Finalgrom did also did not work for me (cannot remember) something to do with upper and lowercase which the /4 cannot do. (I also used 32K). Xb2.7 maybe he same upper/lowercase (Needs 32k) Also i remember ksarul mentioning that the module ports are a bit different few mm and that modules do not fit properly? Parsec does not work because of the 9918 VDP Graphic chip and some groms (it is documented somewhere and on youtube there are some videos about /4). I can try it in the weekend.
  19. Here is the thread -- and latest version of the tool
  20. It is Antoon Jansen (how could I forget his name! He shipped me the power adapter for the TI-99/4) I think atariage "Rhodanaj" and he published two articles in Dutch magazine TIjdingen about his tool Snippet out of TIjdingen: Tijdingen 190 - 2018 TIjdingen 191 - 2018
  21. There is an expert with UCSD P-System here in the forum, he wrote also a Windows program to manage programs, files for P-System. (I cannot remember his name here and the link to his tools)
  22. > FYI - if you are in PSYS, to get back to the command prompt type: "CTRL-ALT-DEL" (note that windows want to close, but just cancel and go to the MAME window) and btw the same in GPL to go to a TI Titlescreen FCTN-0 (QUIT) > I think somehow my system has not enough memory in the setup. > (also for GPL loading) what I need to do first is e:\GPL &TIM2 > then I start GPL and start PSYS. @echo off ? cd \mame mame.exe geneve -bios 1.00 -peb:slot5 speech -peb:slot6 tirs232 -peb:slot8 hfdc -peb:slot8:hfdc:h1 generic -hard1 disks\os7.hd -peb:slot8:hfdc:h2 generic -hard2 disks\PSYSNEW2.HD %* pause
