  1. The 4-6 week shipping time for mail orders in the 80s must have almost killed you. :-)
  2. Check your messages. :-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. The Uno cart can already load an alternative OS for ATR emulation, couldn't this be extended to loading OS-B for certain programs? Maybe use .osb as a file extension so it knows, or use a different boot key instead of RETURN.
  4. I used DOS 3 for several years, even after I bought the US Doubler and SpartaDOS. Never had an issue with it.
  5. If the free shipping from China was really the problem, why didn't Radio Shack open up a distributor there and ship out from China? Use the US distributor when someone is really to get a part quickly, but use China for free shipping.
  6. I need to check my 600xl, but I think I plugged in the UAV and wired an SVideo jack to the terminals on the UAV. I don't remember soldering anything.
  7. A long time ago I bought an MIO and hard drive set up, which came with BBS Express Pro. I was excited to see if I could find out who originally had it, unfortunately, node #404 is blank in your list.
  8. Would this be something current U1M installed machines could use to hang a CF card off of the PBI/ECI, therefore freeing up the cartridge port?
  9. Another option is readthedocs.org or Sphinx. Both use a git repo to hold the website, and changes can be pushed/pulled with the regular git tools. http://firesidefiction.comrecently switched to this workflow, here's their repo. The beauty of this process is that everything can be hosted by Github. I use Pelican to create my https://gtia.comwebsite and host the website and the repo on Github.

  11. I'm just learning assembler, and settled on MADS. I've compiled it under Linux and OS X, and use VIM with syntax highlighting. Right now I use a simple mads SOURCE to compile since I only have source code in one file.
  12. If I have the original batch, how do I get the latest CPLD code? I have a USB blaster to upgrade it.
  13. Tap the top right of the screen and they'll appear.
  14. Same thing happens on the iPhone. After I get the first error, I assume it posted. :-)
  15. You may want to discuss logistics with Jacobus and ask how he handled doing Dungeon Hunt.
  16. With today's technology, there is no need to resort to any tricks. Use an AtariMax cart, STM324 microcontroller, floppy disk, etc. By putting 128KB on the cart, you game can run on lower specced machines (>64K) too. Allows more time to be spent on development and less on deployment, while increasing profit margins. As Jon said, using EPROMs have to be "the most expensive storage medium known to man".
  17. And an even better web client: https://kiwiirc.com/client/chat.freenode.com/##atari
  18. Easiest route is making games for iOS, although people don't like paying more than a buck per game. Apple takes care of everything. For the PC, look at getting your games on Steam. If you still want to do it yourself, PayPal or Gumroad both make it easy to sell digital goods. As for the digital tax, it's not any more work than what is happening now with selling physical goods. Video61 collects sales tax from MN residents (Or they should be, although there is no reference to this on their order page). Customers from other states are responsible for paying their own tax. In Ohio, it's a question on the state income tax form. You only have to worry about sales tax to customers in the state you reside.
  19. This sums up the problem with first version. It's not the individual instruments being out of tune with themselves. It's the fact that each instrument is playing in a different key. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Over time my Pac-Man skills have not been increasing with my age. Under Mame and on the 20th Reunion Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga I've been playing the speed up versions. Is there a speed up version available for the 8-bit versions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. If I was doing a cartridge release I'd be looking at piggybacking off the work of Electrotrains and use the STM32F4 as the cartridge: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/257488-racing-the-atari-bus-with-a-stm32f4-microcontroller/?p=3639094 128K and a cost of ~$13.
  22. Their stance on the subject is why I won't be purchasing it either. I really, really, REALLY want this game, but the lack of a cheaper digital only version is stopping me from buying it. The last time this came up with Venture I ended up buying the ColecoVision version.
