  1. Could you bottle Your ambition, time, and desire? I surely could use it! lol. I am sure this will be the most complete BBs built since the 90s! Look forward to visiting. (When I can find some tim! lol)
  2. I am sure you did but just in case, on the network are you using “host”? I know if I don’t use host as the network adapter on my synology it requires me to set ip addresses and all kinds of other things that are a pain in the but.
  3. I think this is the Validated one.Freesed dried term 220.zip
  4. Dumb question. Was the address for the BBs posted? Or is it just private testing. I was just wondering. If it’s not ready I understand, I just thought I was missing out on something. lol!
  5. Thanks so much. Very cool. Looks like it was a test BBs. There is only 1 password in the pass file and most of the txt files are just stock with a few changes. I have a feeling the BBs list may have been captured from another BBs possibly. thank you so much. Great to have a little peek into history. ps I didn’t look too closely into it but I am thinking it might be a FoReM 26m or xl. I did try to load it up in a stock FoReM xe setup I have but it didn’t load. Being the phone list is from 84 it is at best FoReM xl. I don’t think xe was released until 85. But I could be all wet on this. I don’t have a 26m test system and don’t have any copy of FoReM xl. (Still looking for that one).
  6. Very. Nice. Pre my time but some of the numbers look familiar. Can you make an atr of the data disk?
  7. Yes please make an atr or the disk
  8. I don’t think I ever tried it but I would think so. You would need to set the jumper block on the percom drive mech to ds1 instead of ds0. But I do know percoms like to take over the sio bus and doesn’t play nice with other peripherals sometimes. Rfd models are a little different (I think). There is and dipswitch block on the back of the drive that identifies where ds0 will start. I.e. ds0 on an rfd can be set to d3: But At-88s I think are specified by the jumper straps on the drive.
  9. I had the Supra 1o Meg and after the first crash I turned the drive so it was horizontal and put a little fan over the vent holes. Of course not knowing any better I had the fan blowing in. Man did those vent holes get dirty.
  10. I think that was what mine was doing. Then I took the hub off and couldn’t figure out where to put all the washers (doh!). I did manage to find a service manual but now it clamps down too hard. I have to be in a mood to deal with playing with fixing the floppy drives. I have a teac-fd series (80 track) that worked fine on my at-88 right when I got it but when I got an atr-8000 and the rfd-44/40 it stopped working properly. I am pretty positive it is ok I just can’t figure out what its problem is. Maybe next time I am in the mood I will work on the mpi again.
  11. I really like the look of those two teac drives in the perc case. I could be mistaken but I think one or two of my percoms can with tandon drives. My rfd-44 came with an mpi drive and a qume drive. Neither are working sadly. They were a casualty of my repairing my rfd-44 when I got it. But then again it has been years since I pulled them out. I know the mpi had a spindle issue. (Wouldn’t spin the disk).
  12. I had some issues as well. I have the side3/u1m/mio combo. I needed to change the pbi identifier to number 6. When it was set to default I could get the mio to work but it would start to do weird things with my typing. I have my mio hd set as d1 and d3 and the side3 is d3-dk.
  13. I think for the most part all my percs work with both sio ports the same. However, sometimes not. I think it just depends on what mood the percom is in. Lol.
  14. I just have the plain old at88. It thought all the at88 roms were interchangeable. Maybe not. Can’t remember. It was a real long time since I fooled with my at88.
  15. If you can post your modified rom file. I’d love to see if that works on my at88. I wonder if the double density board is adding the ds fix.
  16. That is great news! Unless something is really wild with your at board, it will format ds but when it goes to write to the second side it will error out. My At-88 did the same thing. Not sure exactly why it would format ds but only write ss. I guess it is one of those mysteries lost to time. Lol. So glad it’s working!
  17. Oh that’s not bad. The only time I have seen them is on usagi electric and curious Marc’s YouTube channels and they looked pretty expensive. Keep us informed.
  18. Lol. That’s quite a jump. Aren’t logic analyzers pretty pricey? All for a lowly percom. Lol. I’m just kidding around.
  19. Ugh. If you have probed to the 6850 and there is something going in but nothing coming out, that could be the culprit(I guess). Just from what you explain that is where all normal functionality ceases. Unicorn electronics has them. At least with them you know you are getting genuine chips and not rebadged. I had issues with some 1797s I got and I just returned them And they shipped me replacements. https://www.unicornelectronics.com/IC/6800.html
  20. That is great news. By the way you explained the drive when it was in the percom, it sounds like the controller board might be working properly. When I got my -s2 drive it was doa. Turned out the 6809 chip was toast. Now, there is a guy on fb that was having a similar issue where the perc would act normally but wouldn’t communicate with the Atari. Fingers crossed you don’t have the same issue. (I think he pretty much replaced almost everything on the board and still couldn’t get it to work. But his was an rfd).
  21. Definitely upload pics of your perc.
  22. Yes the drive setting are all on the drive jumpers. You can do drives 1-4. I could be wrong but I think the latest rom is 1.12 for the at’s. But don’t hold me to that. Check out the huge percom thread.
  23. I did hear that Ed Bachman may have been involved with the business or maybe it was just something else they were involved in and had a falling out. At least I think it was Edba.
  24. It always strikes me funny that percom pretty much used whatever was on the shelf to build their drives. That is the case for the -s2 double drive unit. You could put 4 1/2 height drives in there. Unfortunately only single sided. Does it have the double density board?
  25. No clue what his sister’s name was. I don’t remember if we got a glimpse of her or not when we visited. I am pretty sure at that time he was like me when I started out. 8ooxl, 1o5o, with a 1o3o modem. By 87 I was looking down on 3oo baud, but he managed to get a hold of me and we were pretty good friends for that summer. I don’t know if he has kids but a souder is always popping up in my Facebook friends suggestion. I’ll have to check it out next time it does.
