Percom AT88-S1PD - 3.5"drive install? SD-X read FAT12?
moonlight_mile replied to Xebec's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for the info. Sadly, I don't have a u1mb and I know all my chips are soldered down to my 130xe's board. So I am not confident enough to take on the task of installing it and there isn't anyone close that I know of that can install it or would have any knowledge to repair it if something went wrong. That's why I am really looking for an external solution. The Sio2sd isn't slow by any means. I got it pretty fast. But I still would like to use a cart or a pbi interface solution. No other ideas? -

Can the side2 avoid using sdx? I am looking at one for a bbs and it will not run on sdx but I like the speed I have seen in the demos on YouTube. -
Getting A8 Online with Lantronix and 850 Interface
moonlight_mile replied to Paul Westphal's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yup it is working like a charm. Just gotta figure out how to get the bbs to start as soon as it connects without the user hitting return a few times. Not exactly sure how or what I can do about that. -

I jumpered one of the wires in the db9 end of the cable and it works. I really wonder if my "terminal" cable was wired up as a modem cable. But for now it is working. Now if I could only get Express to start sending the "press return" without the connecting party to hit it first I will be golden. -

I thought it was 9v but don't hold me to that. But one thing I notice is you don't have a western digital drive controller chip/board. Did you remove the board that fits in that chip socket? -

The only ds Percom I know of is the rfd44. So yes just single sided. Sadly it will format ds but won't read/write. I was trying to find an rfd44 rom and get one put it in my at88 and see what happens but haven't come across one yet. And most likely your Percoms voltage regulators took a dump. I had to change mine when I got it. The one literally just fell apart when I removed the board. -

Ah. Yes. Yet another different looking Percom board. Anyway. I can't make out the numbers on that long chip next to the daughter board. I am thinking that is the western digital drive controller chip. Just depends on what number is on it. What numbers are printed on it? -
Is anybody using bbs express Pro 2.x with a lantronix mss10 and an 850 and having hangup issues?

Can we get a pic of the actual board. Like to see if you have the dd board. -
Getting A8 Online with Lantronix and 850 Interface
moonlight_mile replied to Paul Westphal's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Using a cx-88 atari cable It works great but on the bbs I am testing if someone disconnects the mss100 doesn't tell the bbs anyone disconnected. That's where my issue is. -
Getting A8 Online with Lantronix and 850 Interface
moonlight_mile replied to Paul Westphal's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Guys, I am still working on my mss100. It is not passing anything to the serial device after a signal has been dropped. (The telnet user disconnects). I have an mss100->gender changer->atari terminal cable->850 It is a bad mss100 or could it be a bad cable? I traced the pins on my terminal cable and nothing seems to match up to the above pinouts. Here is how my cable is wired up. Db9. Db25 Pin# 1------->pin #5 Pin# 2------->pin#4 Pin# 3------->pin#3 Pin# 4------->pin#2 Pin# 5------->pin#6 Pin# 6------->pin#20 Pin# 7------->pin#7 Pin# 8------->no pin connection Pin# 9------->no pin connection Also inside the cable there are two wires it connected to any pin on the db25 side. Any help appreciated -

Is there a way to change the port number on an mss100 from 3001/2001? I have scoured the net and can't seem to find the way to change 3001 to say 7777 or 9876, etc. -
Many of the late 2000s and early 201x MacBooks all died due to heat problems. (Of course I had two of the models but I just had my current one fixed instead of dropping 3k on an underpowered computer). Now, I baby my laptops and all my other computers. (Not that I didn't before).

Is there a difference between the mss100 models? I have seen -1,-13,-14,-21,and -22. I might get one and want the correct one for the easiest setup. -
Yeah I think it is ok on ice-t. I was trying it with bobterm. Ice tea looks awful on my Atari 130 and the LCD tv I have it plugged into. For the ansi stuff I do just use syncterm. But I am gonna give ice-t a spin on the emulator.
-
Yeah me too. That is what is am doing. Just won't let me use the "-" in the address. I have been using syncterm for these bbs' but wanted to log on with the Atari.

130xe to sio2pc to ape
-
I have finally been bbsing again now that mine is up and running. I am trying to bbs on my real 130xe. But I am having issues with the no-ip addresses. Bobterm (and Express) seems to have trapped out the "-". Is there any workaround for this? Or am I doing something wrong? Sorry if this has been previously covered.

After a few weeks of work and a lot of help from a bunch of AtariAge members the Alcatraz bbs has been resurrected from the dead and is back open for business after a 28 year absence. Telnet to:64.121.86.229 Port:9000 Thanks to the doctor, triad, atarigeezer and Mark LeAir! send me feedback if you find any missing files.

I spent the last hour doing searches for this but can up empty. If I wanted to set up an MIO hard disk in Altirra how can I do that? I added the mio and hard disk under devices. I got an mio rom off the Internet and added it Set the scsi hard disk as D3: in the mio config menu I left all the other scsi options as default But I am unable to access it or format it. Obviously I am missing a step. Any suggestions on what I am missing?
