  1. Does anyone know of a telnet app for iOS that supports atascii protocols, like syncterm?
  2. This is probably a dumb question but is it possible to have two instances of Altirra running at the same time? I.e one instances you are viewing a text doc and in the other you are entering that data is synfile. Heck I know in the old days 20 instances of I.e. Could run at the same time. (A little different but a similar concept) Just wondering.
  3. Ahhhh. FoReM 26m for the 1030. My first 24hr bbs program. Has anyone ever tracked down Matthew Singer? I would love to hear some of his memories from back in the FoReM days.
  4. I was able to rescue the data off the "hole punched" floppy. I used the pro-system. Best $50 I have spent. The disk contained one of my old message bases and my password (user) file! The other disk is totally unreadable. Like I said I do remember there being an issue with that disk so I doubt there is anything of any substance on that disk. Thanks again for all the suggestions and help on this!!
  5. Guys, I have two disks left from when I had an Atari in the 80s that I cannot read. Both these disks have visable creases and marks on them. Is there any way that these can be temporarily repaired to get the data off or even just see the directory to see what data was on it? I did pull out the media and put it in a new floppy disk envelope but no luck. The disk that has a visable bend in it won't read anything. However, the disk with what looks like a hole was tried to be punched in it, starts to read the directory and stops. I know there is a way to fix warped vinyl records by warning them up and flattening them out but is there a trick like that for floppy disk media? Yes I used gloves when handling these disks. The bend and punch is more visible on the second pics. Any thoughts?
  6. I ordered an sio2pc about a month ago. Didn't get an email til about 10 days later. It indicated a tracking number would follow but I never got that email. The item arrived about 3-4 days after the email. I just ordered the ape disk on Tuesday. Got an email yesterday with the tracking number. It is a little slower than most are used to but it always does come through. I wouldn't hesitate to order again.
  7. Good Ol' Ed Bachman. I certainly don't remember this program. I was in that user group and it was probably right around 87/88 when my monster 10 meg hard drive crashed!!!
  8. I tried to set up the phorem. As it needed all those files to be created. But that failed. I think part of my problem was I was using Spartados and it appears not too many of these bbs's (except express) likes to play nice with Sparta. I know I got to the main screen of mindlink on my real 130xe, but I originally thought it was just a term program and I knew the r: handler didn't load (I have no 850 or p:r: connection) so I didn't go any further. The bbs express files I have did load the the wait screen. But I can't remember if that was on altirra or my 130xe. I would try copying all the files to a dos 2 disk (if it isn't already). If I get a chance I will try it again. Also, I just ordered the APE software for the sio2pc I have, so if you want the raw images (with the directory structure and compressed files) I can do that. I know phorem was in .dsk format. (Disk communicator). Hopefully, I will get the ape software in the next 2 weeks or so. Just let me know.
  9. It survived 25 years in a hot attic. 30 seconds on the carpet won't kill it!! Lol
  10. Aha! I bet that is an early copy of my Rolling Stones bootleg collection. I think I tried using a database program(geez I forgot I did that!) maybe synfile +.
  11. OK, I have tried everything I can remember. (And I don't remember how I fixed my Harddrive when it crashed back in the 80s) Here is the image of TuffHack. It is SpartaDos format. All I get is Error 135 There is information on the disk as I threw it in DiskWiz and it is showing info, but I can't seem to get anything out of it. I will let the geniuses here work on it. Let me know if you guys have any luck, Thanks! Craig TUFFHACK.atr
  12. I actually was referring to the dirbak. But when I got home I was able to run it. Thanks for the info on the hardback.hdr file. I forgot I put that on that image and deleted it. I guess no one. Can figure out what all those music files belong to?
  13. Did you check it out to see what it is? I did copy the hardback.hdr file to the H: drive and it claims to be 83 bytes but there are only two characters In the file.
  14. I'll try to copy labelmaster again and see if it fixes it I couldn't load either of the label files so you got further than I. The last disk has a copy of TuffHacker on it. I am guessing a pretty early version but I can't be sure. I have used disk wizard 2, copy 2000 and copy the individual files (in SpartaDos) and every time I try to load any file off the disk I get an error 135. File/IOCB not open for write. There are 2 or 3 bad sectors on this disk but I get that error on every file I try to run. It seems like I was able to boot the original disk up once a few weeks ago but now it won't do that either. Is there anyway I can get around that error? I can upload the .atr if you think you guys might be able to fix it. Thanks
  15. Glad I could help. Hell, I thought spartados was the defacto dos for atari from 85/86 forward. I had no clue there were so many dos' out for our ol' 8 bit.
  16. Found a few more files. There won't be much more left after this. TeleChess 1 and 3-I guess an early "multiplayer" chess game. I was able to load techess1 but not techess3 BBS Tormentor-I think this is pretty self explainatory, I guess?!?!?! Amodem752-I got it to run, looks like some type of modem handler by Trent Dudley -There also was a file called AmodemXE.com but the disk was bad where that file was located. MindlinkV2-This is some type of MPP terminal software. I actually have the original disk, why, I have no clue as I never had an MPP Modem. Music Files-I am asking for your help. I have absolutely no clue what these files are (besides being Music files). It must have been somewhat important that I actually saved it. There was one file that was on a a part of the disk that went bad. So Music4.idx is missing I have a few files on the disks called Hardback.HDR. I am assuming it was for some type of backup program I may have used. Does anyone know what the program would have been? I tried to upload the one file but it won't let me attach that type of file. They are only 83 bytes so maybe a directory list? Enjoy! TeleChess1and3.atr BBS_Tormentor.atr AModem752.atr MindLinkV2.atr MusicFiles.atr
  17. Here are a few more files I pulled off. There are only 2 or 3 more files I need to look at. One of them is BBS Express Pro 1.0 and I think that is not freeware, so I will not upload that, unless it is needed and it is in fact freeware. SX212-an R: handler for the SX212 by Trent Dudley-Not sure how much use this will be but here it is. RainBow Box-Another Phone Modem Utility.-I have no clue what this would have been used for., Mail List-A Basic Mail listing program Label Master/Label Print-This is a basic program. I was unable to load it, this may in fact be an ST Program. DirBak-No Clue. Could not get this to load. Maybe This is an ST App as well. Let me know if anyone can get the last two programs to run. I can't remember having an ST section, but these disks were dated around 1989 so I probably had an ST uploads section. These are in SpartaDos format, in case you are having issues open the files. Enjoy! Craig SX212_Handler.atr RainbowBox.atr MailList.atr LabelMaster.atr DirBak.atr
  18. Hey guys, Along with that modded copy of FoReM BBS I uploaded to the BBS thread, I found a few other items. I checked google and didn't see these anywhere, where they were available for download. If they are, my bad. If not, Enjoy! SuperDos 4.4 (I found 4.3 and 5.1 but not 4.4) The News Room (It is a cracked version so it isn't the original dump, but I couldn't find it anywhere) The Prowler (I think this was a phone hacking application). I have a few more files, but they look like just basic programs and something called RSX212.EXE. I will upload these when I had a chance to review them. Enjoy, Craig SuperDos44.atr The Prowler.atr TheNewsRoom.atr
  19. Cool! Glad I could actually contribute for a change! Boy how I loved FoReM bbs' they just crashed to damn much! I hated running express but really had no choice at the time. I think Carina had just come out within the last year of my bbs' existence and my buddy started running it and it was a total mess. I'll never forget his email system was public to all users. Yeah I know he set it up wrong but that was all needed to see to stay away from Carina.
  20. I see a bunch of downloads have happened on phorem. Is it anything that wasn't already out there?
  21. With a lot of help from The Doctor, I was able to access my BBS backups (of what I have left). I came across a few items in my downloads directory. Nothing really stood out, and then I saw files name PHOREM3A and 3B. I managed to extract them from their grave for the past 30 or so years, and it appears to be some version of the FoReM bbs modded by Null Cypher. I did a quick google search and didn't get any hits for Phorem so I figured I would upload it here. If it is of any significance pass it around, if not, oh well. I had fun accessing these old files. There were a few other items in the downloads directories, I will work on extracting them and if they are worth while I will upload it. Enjoy craig PHoReM3a.atr PHoReM3b.atr
  22. I did give divisor 5 and 8 a shot neither worked. Neither did turning high speed off. So I just started going through each divisor option. Finally "0A" seemed to work. I still have to test it with writing to a real floppy but copying from the sd to a ram drive seemed to work flawlessly, it stalled doing that prior as well. Thanks for the help!
  23. Wow LeBreak! A UFP "product" right after I left the computer world. Lol. I had to jump through a few hoops but was able to view a bunch of the files with smart terminal. Thanks for the suggestions.
