  2. Race | Sears Distribution! ================= I'm sharing images of the newly added version of the Race game (C012189), with standard lid opening and printed number 6-99809 on the side of the box. I hope you enjoy it, good weekend everyone.
  3. Advancing in box validations! =================== The month of March brought us a large number of validations and also new box additions. In total there were 5 new insertions, 12 Atari version validations and 21 Sears distribution validations. Highlighting the additions of the Chase and Race games from the Sears distribution, both versions C012189 (06-99 | SF), now the list contains 19 related games. A very special thanks to @TomBrazil, the biggest collector of CIB Atari games (authorized versions) that I know in Brazil, for the enormous contribution of validations in the Sears distribution. See the full list below: Added versions: =========== C014060-06 Slot Racers ( SF | © Outside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-06 V2 Slot Racers ( GF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-35 V3 Maze Craze ( TF | © Ninety Warranty Box | INC) C012189-11 Race (Sears 06-99 | SF) C012189-41 Chase (Sears 06-99 | SF) by Tom Brazil Validated versions: ============= C014060-06 Slot Racers ( SF | © Outside Warranty Box | INC) C016972-04 Space War (SF | International 5L | INC) By Clint C016972-17 NO PSN Backgammon (SF | International 5L | INC) By Clint C016972-36 NO PSN Video Checkers (SF | International 5L | INC) By Clint C017039-11 V2 Indy 500 Olympics ( GF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-21 V2 Video Olympics ( GF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-23 V2 Home Run ( GF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-35 V2 Maze Craze ( SF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-20 V3 Basic Programming ( GF | © Ninety Warranty Box | INC) C017039-35 V3 Maze Craze ( GF | © Ninety Warranty Box | INC) C017039-64 V3 Brain Games ( GF | © Ninety Warranty Box | INC) CA019739-136 Solaris (SF | Red Box | 1L | ©1987 | CORP) By Clint Validated Distribuitions: ================ Sears 06-99 | SF C012189-02 - Target Fun C012189-41 - Chase (by TomBrazil) Sears 06-99 | SF C014070-53 - Slots C014070-27 - Cannon Man (by TomBrazil) C014070-29 - Dare Diver (by TomBrazil) Sears 49-75 | SF C015741-45 - Video Chess C015741-07 - Canyon Bomber(by TomBrazil) C015741-12 - Speedway II (by TomBrazil) C015741-24 - Basketball (by Tom Brazil) C015741-38 - Missile Command (by TomBrazil) Sears 49-75 | GF C017141-04 - Space Combat (by TomBrazil) C017141-08 - Super Breakout (by TomBrazil) C017141-12 - Speedway II (by TomBrazil) C017141-31 - Superman (by TomBrazil) C017141-32 - Space Invaders (by TomBrazil) C017141-33 - Night Driver (by TomBrazil) C017141-34 - Golf (by TomBrazil) C017141-49 - Asteroids (by TomBrazil) C017141-51 - Black Jack (by TomBrazil) C017141-54 - Haunted House (by TomBrazil) C019003-50 - Berzerk (by TomBrazil)
  4. Yes you are correct, the characteristics are from version C016972. Your versions are very interesting, it also happened that some international boxes in the silver series did not contain the catalog number on the internal flaps. All boxes in standard lid opening format.
  5. It's an unbeatable version, simply the best! Thanks for sharing Clint.
  6. Yes, an excellent version to acquire and we still haven't found the box indicating the NTSC video format (sticker N).
  7. Atari's international version of the multi-language color series is fantastic to collect: It's very diverse, has at least 50 titles and offers exclusive versions. I would definitely invest a lot in this version.
  8. It's been a while since I went through everything so I'm a bit rusty on the details. If it's greyed out are you still looking for it? When we talk about versions, the recognition techniques we use are extremely hard! For example I have this Space War with 5 languages on the back. The manual is the 01697.... version but the bottom of the box is still glued. Space War multiple languages I haven't validated it yet, if you could send the information I would like it!
  9. To complete the validation of version C014060 - C011822 (With the guarantee certificate's background color in the same color as the box) the only thing missing is Basketball PSN:C014060-24.
  10. Yes mine is also PAL it has the sticker on the box. Cool, a very difficult version to find (as incredible as it may seem) Mine has thick tape across the front of the box so it looks like it was taped to another game. Shops did this sometimes to bundle pairs of games together for a deal. I understand that it was a way of negotiating batches of games. I currently have it listed on eBay, is it worth keeping this box variant? There are several ways to collect series and versions of games published by Atari. You can collect by versions as well as game titles. And of course there are versions that are much rarer than others. In this case (from the Slot Racers game version) I had never encountered it, it was on my radar. The version of my collection that I kept is the one without warranty and with the game program in large letters on the back. It is the most common version along with the latest picture label version of the color series! Clint, thank you very much for your feedback.
  11. Yes, excellent. Is your version PAL video format? Could you add a photo of the printing industry information? And if possible, also a photo of the back of the box? If you look at my version you will see that it is damaged at the copyright location.
  12. NEW VERSION FOUND OF SLOT RACERS GAME IN PAL FORMAT (C014060) ================================================= I added a new version of the game Slot Racers, the box version C014060 - C011822 (© outside the warranty box, printed in the USA) contains P sticker on the side indicating the video format. I have already included the new version in the search and provide detailed images below.
  13. SEARS DISTRIBUTION UPDATE ==================== I identified a new PSN number in Sears distribution. In the boxes containing the Sears catalog number 6-998 and standard flap style, 08 games with PSN registration C014070-C012189 were identified, see the list: Poker Plus, Slots, Football, Canyon Bomber, Arcade Golf, Cannon Man, Bowling and Dare Diver. There are now 5 versions in total identified: - 03 with Sears catalog number 6-998, 01 gatefold and 02 standard flap style. - 02 with Sears catalog number 49-75, 01 standard flap style and 01 glued flap style. See the full list: Gatefold (6-998) C012189 (6-998) C014070 (6-998) C015741 (49-75) C017141 (49-75) PROGRESS LINE ON THE WEBSITE ====================== I also inserted a progress line on the website cover showing the percentage of validations made in each version (I use the ASCII character table to build the graph), thus showing the progress of work in the versions. Hope you enjoy!
  14. First validations of 2024 ================ We started the year by updating the information on the atariopenbox project: 32 boxes were validated across Atari versions and distributions, we were able to complete the validation of the C011822 series and we also advanced with distributions. See the full list: Validated versions: ============ C011822-03 Star Ship (SF | Game Program | INC) C011822-61 Basic Math (SF | Game Program | INC) C016972-15 Demons to Diamonds (GF | Box Color | 5L | INC) C016972-16 Pele´s Soccer (SF | Box Color | 5L | INC) C016972-22 Breakout (SF | Box Color | 5L | ©1978 | INC) C017039-16 V2 Pele´s Soccer (GF | © Inside Warranty Box | INC) C017039-24 V3 Basketball ( GF | © Ninety Warrantly Box | INC) C017039-50 V4 Berzerk (New Picture | INC) C019743-81 Battlezone (TF | Silver Box | 1L | INC) CA019739-80 RS Tennis (SF | Silver Box | 1L | ©1987 | CORP) CA019744-89 Kangaroo (SF | Silver Box | 6L | ©1987 | CORP) CA019744-97 Mario Bros. PS: I made a relocation of the late version (INC period) of the Star Ship game, initially listed in version C017039 V4 and now in version C017039 V3.
  15. Sears versions on Atariopenbox's search radar! =============================== After the inclusion of distributions from Japan, Monaco and Polyvox, now it is the turn of the largest distribution produced by Atari. Sears' distribution initially consists of four box versions with a black background as the main feature of the series (with the exception of the Superman game). I published the lists in preliminary form on the website. I found and included some versions of games that were not yet cataloged and others I listed despite not having captured them. The versions are: Gatefold (6-998) C012189 (6-998) C015741 (49-75) C017141 (49-75) I believe that with this insertion we close the cycle of Atari series, versions and distributions. Once again, I would like to thank all the collaborators of this research project.
  16. Atariopenbox project is listed on Atarimania. ============================= The Atariopenbox.com Research Project was listed on the best Atari content page in the world, the Atarimania.com website. In the recently redesigned links section, the authors recommend 10 sites for those interested in strictly Atari subjects, with emphasis on: Atari Compendium by Scott Stilphen (@Scott Stilphen) which features a lot of content and historical interviews. The Atariage community website, one of the most famous, with great forum activity, managed by Albert Yarusso (@Albert). Matt Reichert's (@Tempest) Atariprotos with the inside scoop on game prototypes. In addition to Atariopenbox, a research project to reconstruct the Atari 2600 game series, among others. The recognition endorses the importance of certifying the series and versions of games released by Atari throughout its history. The need for a methodology was necessary to validate small and large collections. The project also presents Atari-authorized distributions released around the world. In addition to articles and supporting texts, interested parties also have access to complete documentation on the use of the research. The project, which began four years ago, has the ultimate goal of producing a book. Initially the content is organized into three volumes, Atari Industry, large development companies and small development companies. Thanks @Rom Hunter, extending to the entire Atarimania group for recommending and supporting the project. To find out all the indications visit: www.atarimania.com/list-atari-links.html Consume without moderation!
  17. Polyvox list published! =============== The list of games licensed by Atari Inc. and distributed by Polyvox in Brazil is already published, the list contains 26 games in silver boxes and 1 game, Missile Command, in a small white box that accompanied the video game internally. I would like to thank Leandro Sá (@HSW3ET) for sharing the list published on the AtariBrazil Forum of versions and variations of Polyvox games and also thank Hélio Ferraz (@Sr. Ferraz) for sharing the images of the Polyvox boxes for use in the research project. Hope you enjoy! Polyvox Distribution: www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/polyvox-distribution/06-1915
  18. Polyvox distribution, the last frontier! ========================= After a preliminary analysis, I finally understood that I should include games licensed in Brazil by Atari Inc. in the research project, even though the boxes and manuals are not listed in the internal catalog of Atari Inc. (PCBs and ROMs are listed). Probably one of the reasons for the parts not being produced by Atari would be the law at the time in force on imports in Brazil, in addition to the language barrier, which also occurred in Japan and would not have been an impediment. Therefore, in addition to the Japan (JPN) and Monaco (NZL) distribution, I will include the Polyvox (BRA) distribution in the Atari Inc game catalog research project. I will publish the list soon!
  19. Box version "Made in Taiwan" Atari Inc. ========================== I added the boxed version of the color series with registration C017877 printed in Taiwan to the project. I identified four games: Combat, Home Run, Football and Bowling, all boxes with a standard opening flap, copyright 1978 Atari Inc., without graphic information and printing date on the inner side flap of the box. To learn more visit: https://www.atariopenbox.com/atari-2600-box-collection/color-series/c017877 See you soon!
  20. Updates and validations in 2023. ====================== The search work continues, in January and February I validated over 18 versions of game boxes for the research project. See the complete list: C014060-11 Indy 500 (SF | Same Color W. Box | INC) C014060-62 Hangman (SF | Same Color W. 21. Fixes and updates with supporting information! =============================== While I am working on the Atari Corp period timeline, I decided to post supporting content for better understanding of the information in the version tables and also supplemental information on the Atari Inc timeline. Some contents were not consistent enough to make the information understandable and sometimes it was a little confusing. So always scroll the page to the footer to get the most out of the information. I will always remain attentive in search of improvements in the pages as well as inclusions of records. See you soon!
  22. A more organized and condensed timeline! ============================ I updated the timeline session in order of Atari game releases. The new format allows for faster updates, easier searches and a better understanding of the series. Now simultaneously you will be able to see all released versions of a game from the period Inc. or Corp. Still within the improvements I added the Monaco Distributors line. And the period Inc. is now available: 1977, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1981, 1982, 1983 and 1984!
  23. We started November moving forward with additions and validations. ============================================= November with the support of many friends, we validated 28 more box versions and added 02 new versions to the research project.
