The Official Turbografx 16 Thread!
mickcris replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Because its not a Turbo Booster. The Turbo Booster uses a super cap while tennokoe 2 uses 2 AA batteries. The LED comes on when the batteries are low, but also when system is turned on. -

dead jag, should be fixable, radio shack closing is annoying
mickcris replied to masschamber's topic in Atari Jaguar
Radio Shack would most likely not have had the caps you needed anyway. Sounds like you or the previous owner blew up the power regulator. What power supply did you use when you plugged it in? you can get a cap kit here: http://console5.com/store/atari-jaguar-cap-kit.html power regulator: http://console5.com/store/mc34163dw-soic-16w-package-step-up-down-inverting-switching-regulator.html this sometimes goes at the same time: http://console5.com/store/so-8-package-5-volt-regulator.html You should be able to see if the IC is burned out by looking at it. -

No, you are wrong. Someone could just get an PC Engine AV Booster if they wanted. Since you have never seen a turbografx before im not sure why you were trying to argue with me about it not fitting. I cut off some of the extra plastic on the connector on one with some dykes, since you guys seem to be having trouble picturing it. -

it can be made to fit. just need to remove a bit of plastic off the connector of the tennokoe 2. Other than that, the fit is perfect. Just might look a little odd. -

The Admin at the pcenginefx forums sells 3D printed ones. http://www.pcenginefx.com/forums/index.php?topic=18661.0 They are $6.50 a piece if you buy 24. I'm not aware of any other source. -
Coleco Chameleon .... hardware speculations?
mickcris replied to phoenixdownita's topic in Modern Console Discussion
think that's why they disabled the youtube comments. I'm sure they would have been amusing so its a shame they did that. although, i looked at their facebook page, and their fans seem to be pretty happy about the video. -
I think there would be enough demand. especially with the 2 new screens coming out this year. You would just have to get the word out that you were selling them. I already have a GG and Lynx screen. I am planning on getting at least one Turbo Express screen when its out.

you could buy one of these instead http://www.ebay.com/itm/SCART-audio-breakout-box-for-SCART-to-YUV-component-video-converters-/161612341108

NES looks like crap on 4k tv...
mickcris replied to 0078265317's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If you want it to look good on that tv, you will need to get the NES rgb modded and get a descent upscaler like the xrgb-mini. -

hes not making the external version anymore. http://3do-renovation.ru/How_to_buy.htm I dont see why you couldn't run a cable out the back.

that psp cable is not high enough voltage for the psone. you need to get the correct cable. you probably didnt break anything.

Super Famicom NTT pad + PCB for Colecovision conversion
mickcris replied to CoLethalVision's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
nevermind. didnt notice for some reason the colecovision PCB was included too. I was thinking of doing this at one point and probably would have bought it last year if i had noticed your thread and read it properly. good luck with the sale -
I have been using one for quite a while: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/233873-quick-question-about-two-different-jag-power-supplies/?p=3155769

why did they not learn their lesson last time? they should have waited till they actually had something before doing any kind of announcement. Just gives people months to speculate. -
You cut off the first part of the quote. Its the early skunboards that will be damaged by higher voltages as they were connected directly to the power supply. I think it is possible to cause damage if the power supply current is too low. Have heard stories about people burning out their Sega CDX consoles from using a Geneisis 2 power supply. Just use one with the correct amount of amperage or higher. No reason to try and find the lowest it will work with.

I wonder how many of the backers (there were about 150 individual I think) had a financial interest in this coming to life. Seems to me like there were a lot. -
