yeah, he claims since he was there he knows what it was better than people that saw pictures. even though it was in a glass case so he couldn't see it. he also said that it was just a proof of concept to show retailers and developers. so really there was no point of showing it at the toy fair since its going to kickstarter and they are not selling it retailers. there was no point of it being there other than to make some videos showing that they have a "prototype" that was shown in public. since he also said it was the only video game related thing there, cause i think that is not what the toy fair is really for, then no developers were going to be there either (besides Piko I guess who was already on board anyways).

Crazy that a podcast for a magazine owned by Mike Kennedy would make that claim.

Yeah, lots of the SNES mini scandal evidence was probably noticed by a ton of people simultaneously as it was so blatantly obvious. I still cannot believe there are people saying it wasn't an SNES mini.

We do the discovery and they present it to a wider audience. Glad it gets out there to more people that would miss out on the info.

That would be pretty funny. the front of that cart shell was his maybe. they also had to remove some plastic from the inside of that jag case to get the snes to be up a little higher too. you can see in my pic, it doesn't line up 100% perfect cause they cut some out of their shell. so a little dremeling and some tape.

So he could have made some test runs, before the clear, in black. so that is maybe where this black shell came from. I think we are about running out of stuff to debuff now. They need to release some new footage or something for us.

haha. true about the bag. it looks like the back is open to me though. but yeah, the picture is bad and its probably the only one we will ever see of the back.

I dont think it has the back panel on it though. some were speculating that there was a black plastic bag or something shoved in the back along with the tape. If it had the back on it, the snes mini back panel would not fit out. Is it possible he ran some black ones before having the atari logo removed from the mold? also, im not sure we know that is why the tape was placed on the front. there could be some other reason, like was mentioned maybe just to hold it together. edit: never mind about the logo part. i think the dental company removed them IIRC now.

there is no evidence of it. i personally dont think its painted cause it looks too good. they would have had to have someone professionally do it like a person that paints cars if it was painted.

he posted a video stamping the logo on the black shell. It appears to be a little higher resolution than the toy fair videos. So it looks like it took a month for that electrical tape work.

You are correct. I was seeing the vents. Maybe they just had a little bit of tape left on the roll and figured they might as well use it up.

I'm wondering if they glued some USB ports to the front or something. Looks like there are some pins under the right cable. It looks like something was added to the exterior as the tape doesn't look flush.

Haha. they could not even wire up an LED. im sure the heat sink is still on theirs.

yes, a ton of room. i lined up the cartridge slots of the consoles. not going to take them apart again: they were not hardwired. unless they are calling "plugged into the connectors" hard wiring.

glad that Pat made that video. Lots of his subscribers are the target audience for this thing. They summed it up pretty well.

when the console is in the clear box, the extra slack on the cable is under the console so its hard to see anything

It was stated that the controllers were hard wired to the board by Mike so I was just making a light joke. I guess the extensions could maybe have been but I think we all know the likelihood of that being the case is pretty much 0%
