  1. Got two today. Kinda late to the party around here! Lol! Mark me down for Chopper Command and H.E.R.O. Made it to level 14 on H.E.R.O.! Used to make it to like 18 or 19, I think, but it's been months since I even fired up my Atari! What's wrong with me?! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  2. Threaten to file a dispute and have the charges reversed. You'll be amazed how fast your order will be shipped. That's he only thing that motivated them to actually get the ball rolling when I ordered a SlikStik from them a year and a half ago. I got tired of waiting after about 2 1/2 weeks. I will NEVER use them again. Ridiculous way to "run" a business... Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  3. K-Maud, very true statement about Jr. Pac-Man. If any 2600 game induces players to rage quit, that's the one! Lol! I think I've cleared the first board ONCE. pretty sure that was on kiddie mode, too... Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks, guys! Figured out I had to unzip each file, since it was a full rom set. I've since discovered the link to Everdrive sets on another forum, and they've been working great! Played a TON of Little Samson for NES today. That game is really polished, fun, and punishing after the first stage. A real gem for the console! 5. I received a JXD s7800b smart gaming tablet yesterday and have been trying all morning to get games to play on it. I downloaded a full rom set of NES games here on another site. And then downloaded the gamesome app to use as a front end, successfully imported my ROMs to it, and then downloaded the NES.emu app for my emulator and set it as the default emulator for NES games. When I try to launch a game, it goes to a menu in NES.emu, but won't launch the game. When I click "load game" inside the emulator, it pulls up a dos-looking interface. I'm at a loss as to what I'm doing wrong. I downloaded retro arch, downloaded all the emulators and updates and everything. Actually found my ROMs within the app, and it seems the list isn't incomplete. For whatever reason, it looks like Gamesome randomly relegates some ROMs to the ether to never be heard from again! Lol! So I could select a game to play, but every time I clicked on any games, the app would crash. Every. Single. Time... Then I downloaded individual emulators from the play store, and now I can't find my ROMs within the emulators when I try to select a game... Just call me Emulation Clueless in Charlotte! As you can see, I'm completely new to the emulation game, and can't find specific enough info on the web to hold my hand through the process of getting this thing up and running. Any ideas? TIA... 6. I enjoy the first two game versions on Adventure. The third game quickly becomes "OH, YOU STUPID BAT!" So for me, the bat kinda sucks the fun out of it for me! Pretty cool that you started a score binder, though! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  7. Space Instigators, Donkey Kong VCS, Space Rocks, and Pengo this morning. Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  8. Thus far today, I've logged some minutes in Ms. Pac-Man, Moon Patrol, Out Of Control, Pengo, Gas Hog, and Telepathy. Definitely need to spend more time on Telepathy to figure out exactly what I'm doing, but I'm liking what I've seen thus far... Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  9. You're 14 and you have a Commodore 64?! That. Is. Awesome! There is hope for the future, after all! Lol! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  10. Played a bit of Out Of Control today. Passed the levels up to level 6 on under 3 minutes. Not TOO bad for a newbie to this game, I guess! Lol! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  11. Pretty sure the world would be a sadder place if Atari would've done only sports titles. All of their sports titles were AWFUL!! And where would we all be without Yars' Revenge or Missile Command? Seems the OP may be a Made a profile, then one post, and then apparently fell off the face of the interwebs planet. Oh, and way to regurgitate the whole "Pac-Man and E.T. caused the crash" tripe...Do you even play, bro? Lol! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  12. Discovered Moon Patrol tonight, thanks to the No Quarter podcast. Yes, I am 2 years behind on their episodes!! Lol! The first level is pretty easy. I've yet to make it past the 2nd rock on level two, though...[emoji15] Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  13. Sramirez2008, that Ed Laddin joystick is legit! I tried out Pengo for the first time tonight and made it to stage 11 (continuing, of course! Lol!) I could see this one becoming very addictive! I also tried Mines of Minos again. I played it once or twice not too long ago, but couldn't really figure out what to do. Read the manual, and it made a world of difference![emoji15] Then I played Galaxian and had to wonder how in the world I hadn't played this recently?! When I saw the title screen after being decimated by the aliens the first time, it brought back memories of playing it some time in the past, but I don't think it was on the 2600. Made it to the 3rd screen twice and broke 5,000 points each time. My wife, who is the Galaga queen, saw it and wanted to give it a go. She made it to the 3rd screen on her first try, and broke 4,000 points! I was impressed, to say the least! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  14. I'd have to give Double Dragon a D or lower rating. I personally feel the game play on the 2600 version to be abysmal at best. Pac-Man, on the other hand, gets a B or A- in my book. Yes, Ms. Pac-Man is better from a "More Pac-Man-Y" perspective, but the original Pac-Man isn't nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Try getting 5 or 6 thousand points on that one! The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly, but sometimes I can get in that zen zone and play for quite a while. Of course, my opinions are worth about what you paid for them... Lol! 15. Try CouchTuner. We don't have cable or satellite, and use CouchTuner to keep up to date on all of our current shows. And as a bonus, it's free! Lol! I'll have to check this episode out later today if it's up on the site. Elementary is one of my wife and my favorite shows. Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  16. Turmoil is a hidden gem for the 2600. Definitely lots of fun to be had every time it's played! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  17. I just downloaded the rom for this one, and I'm quite impressed. It will never cease to amaze me what the "graphically challenged" 2600 is truly capable of. Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  18. This is a pretty fun game. Never even heard of it before, but I have it on my Harmony Cart. This is my 2nd attempt. This ramps up pretty quickly! And you don't have much air on the later stages! Thanks for mentioning this game, AtarinDave Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  19. I've always really liked all of the sound effects in Atari's Pac-Man. Guess it's a nostalgia thing, but it just makes me happy every time I hear those 4 notes just before game play begins. And along with several others here, Missile Command definitely makes the top of the list. I also just recently discovered the amazing game that is Kool-Aid Man. The bouncing sound just cracks me up for some reason. I like to leave the game running after I die just so I can hear the bouncing around sound over and over. I just read this post to my wife, and she laughed and said, "You're such an Atari geek." Yes. Yes I am! 20. Nice snag, Opry99er! I think Turmoil is one of, if not THE hidden gem of 2600 games. Hectic gameplay, colorful graphics, great sound, and a great selection of enemies combine to make an excellent gaming experience. Hard to believe this one came out so long ago! Thanks for sharing your find! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  21. More Kool-Aid Man today. Broke 30 grande at 35,500 points, which is a personal best so far on this game! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  22. Playing some Kool-Aid Man (OH YEAHHHHH!!!) and Rocky & Bullwinkle tonight. Can't understand why M-Network killed the Bullwinkle project without releasing the game. It's really pretty fun! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  23. I found that goop in one of my Slik Stiks. The other one didn't have anything. Any suggestions for keeping these joysticks going for longer time periods?? Cleaned them both up a few months ago, and now one doesn't go right reliably, and the fire button on the other one is hit and miss. Both problems are pretty frustrating when playing Space Invaders! 24. The newest 8k version is simply spectacular. Finally made it to the 2nd cut scene, and was amazed that a piece of Blinky's costume actually tears off. Brilliant!![emoji106][emoji106][emoji106][emoji109] Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  25. Downloaded Dintar's Pac-Man 8K today, and it has officially unseated Pac-Man Arcade Enhanced, which I have been playing a butt ton of lately. After my initial foray into 8k, I fired up the original Atari release of Pac-Man (which I continue to vehemently defend as a great game for what it is), and it's incomprehensible that this is even on the same console! Good stuff, good stuff, indeed! Now if I could just make it to the 2nd cut scene... Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
