  1. Not TOO shabby for the first couple games playing this. I see me spending a LOT of time on this one this week! Thanks, Spiceware for such a great game! (Again! Lol!!) Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  2. Where's my H.E.R.O. patch?! Lol!! 109,945 points. Not sure why it says level 50. I was only on like 17 or 18. Weird... Don't know why my Atari likes going black & white at random intervals, either. Mostly it does it just before I'm planning to post pics here on AA. Any thoughts on this? 3. I love that game! You can really burn through men quickly on this one. Pun intended, of course! Lol! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  4. Jin, thanks for mentioning Lock N Chase! After about 5 games, I broke 30,000. Definitely a great game! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  5. I'm surprised no one has mentioned any Imagic games to throw in the mix. Maybe Demon Attack, Atlantis, or possibly even Cosmic Ark. Dragonfire is always a ton of fun, as well. Even if I make it through a few levels, once I start dying in the dragon's treasure room, I can burn through all my men in a matter of 20 seconds or so! Lol! 6. Cafeman, 2 MONTHS?! And you didn't die of withdrawal? Lol! Kaboom and Circus Atari have got to be the 2 best paddle games in the history of Ataridom! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  7. Finally almost broke 4,000 points on 2600 Pac-Man on game 1. One of these days... Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  8. +1 on the Slik Stik. Finally broke down and bought a second one a few months ago. Hard to beat for precise and comfortable gaming! Sent from my iPhone directly into your brain using Tapatalk
  9. If you want to see a perfect example of Shovelware, fire up Springer. Atari's Pac-Man & E.T. have nothing to compare to the sheer awfulness of this game. AND it actually came out in '82, making it a prime candidate for plausible scapegoat for causing the crash! Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. And here I thought, "I think I'll actually give the HSC a shot this week", since I saw the post so early. Fired up Springer, got like 100 points, and then decided, "Nah, not worth wasting more time on an amazingly awful game like this. I probably have more important things to do with my evening, like, say, watching grass grow." Who exactly picked this game, anyway? Lol! Springer could definitely be the poster child to answer newbies who ask, "What is 'shovelware'?" Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Just tried Fast Eddie for the first time last night, and it is a very addicting and fun game. Astroblaster is pretty fun, but makes my thumb tired trying to kill all the rocks on the screen. Every time I die cracks me up, though. The spaceship (?) explosion is pretty spectacular! Makes me laugh almost as hard as the poor clown on Circus Atari when he kicks his feet after hitting the ground! Lol! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That Arlington store is pretty cool. I especially liked the back room that's like a mini museum showing the history of home consoles. Alas, I am in Charlotte, NC now, and it would be a bit of a commute to go peruse their stock! Lol! Thank goodness for my Harmony cart! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I actually love THAT Pac-man. I find it challenging and very enjoyable to play. It usually gets a spin just about any time I fire up the Atari. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. So does anyone has a Slik Stik they're looking to sell? Lol!
  15. Why, oh why didn't I look for this thread 3 weeks ago?! I just sent this to their website a few minutes ago: I placed an order with you on 12/24/2014 and have yet to receive anything from you. I have tried to contact you by email and haven't heard anything in response. I find it rather convenient that I sent you payment for my order securely via PayPal, which hit your account instantaneously, and then it seems everyone in your company fell off the face of the planet. My order # is ORDXXXXXXXXX. Conveniently, I can no longer even log into my account on your awesomely built website, as my only access to the Internet is on my iPhone, and your site keeps redirecting me to a non-page that informs me my connection is not secure. The exact same connexion was plenty secure enough for your website to allow me to create an account and then order product. If I don't hear back from you or receive confirmation that my package has hit my PO box within the next 24 hours, I will open a dispute through PayPal, and will post my experience of abysmal customer service in every forum I can think of on Atari Age, which, I'm sure you know, is the largest forum concerning Arari products and games in existence. Thank you for your PROMPT attention concerning this matter. Aaron Thompson Guess I'll have to resort to PayPal to resolve this. Disappointing, to say the least. Ridiculous.
  16. Great find! Did the storage system come with that, too? Sounds like you stole it. Thanks for sharing.
  17. Maybe not 100%, but I'm already almost there. The only console I currently own is a 2600, and even there I play everything on my Harmony Cart. I don't own a single original cartridge. I sold them all when I moved out of my apartment. Living full time in an RV, space is at a premium. That's why I'm currently in the process of setting up an Android stick computer that will be dedicated solely to retro console emulation(NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64), using Blutooth Playstation 3 controllers. Extreme limits on space cuts down the options a bit, but even if I had the room, I would have gone this route. Cartridge prices have taken quite a jump in prices, especially in the last few months. Besides, when is the last time you saw a game like Little Samson or Battletoads & Double Dragon in your local retro shop? With emulation, I have the opportunity to play these and other ultra rare/hard to find titles, as well as the old standbys like Super Mario Bros. and Metroid. I have no problem with the purists who only want to play on original hardware, though. It's all a matter of personal preference and the options that are available to you. Besides, I consider myself to be more of a gamer, and not a collector.
  18. Have you tried downloading Retroarch? I recently bought an Android stick computer and plan to use Retroarch for all of my emulators. Only reason I haven't done it yet is I'm living full time in an RV in the middle of the oil field, and have no wifi to download the app. From what I've heard, though, that's one of the best all around emulation platforms for android. Good luck in your search!
  19. Don't you just love the laser cannon of DOOOOM!!? Fairly addicting game that brings back great memories of when I was a kid!
  20. Been playing a lot of Missile Command, Pac-Man (Yes THAT Pac-Man! Lol!), Alien and Solar Fox. I've been trying to break 2,000 points on Pac-Man, and it hasn't been coming very easily. Just achieved a personal best on Alien, though. 40,748 points. Prior to that game, I don't think I've ever even made it to the 6th maze. Must have gotten lucky!
  21. I tried to hook mine up to my hdtv and even used the adapter that converts the rf cable from the back of the console directly to coax, so I could bypass the RF setup completely, but the picture was still terrible. Finally got a 13" Magnavox CRT TV that is now my dedicated Atari setup. The picture is beautiful, and it has that retro feel that I love while playing a classic console like my Atari 4 switch woody. Found the tv for free locally on Facebook. They just left it on the porch and messaged me the address.
  22. My wife and I discovered the joy that is Circus Atari a few days ago! Phenomenal what some of the early 2600 games offered. This one keeps us hitting the game reset switch again and again. Paddle driven fun is guaranteed for all with this game!
  23. It's a pretty interesting homebrew. The first time I tried it, I thought,"That was BORRRINNG!" Picked it back up several weeks later and gave it an honest go, and after the first few stages, it really amps up and becomes pretty challenging. Make sure you have a responsive joystick with a really good fire button, though. I use a SlikStik, and my hands get tired after extended play. You should try it out. I think you'll be pleased you did! Sorry for the DELAYED response. Haven't been on here in quite a while. Been too busy actually playing Atari! Lol!
  24. I find I've been playing Taz, H.E.R.O., Ms. Hack, Seaweed Assault, and Adventure more than my other games lately. Even with the Harmony Cart and an extensive collection of ROMS, I keep gravitating back to these few games. How about you guys?
  25. I remember watching that movie in the theater. Even as a kid, I wondered why a Christmas movie came out in the middle of the summer... I had forgotten the tv reference in the movie. Pretty sure it's been over a decade since I last watched it, though.
