  1. I can see the desire to have a controller with more buttons the the one they chose, if it's still the Wii knock-off one, has not reviewed well.
  2. The update is interesting. Looks like they are at least attempting to make it rightish.
  3. I actually just used a Belkin adaptor I had from my Pi and it worked well. It was just something I'd picked up for 20 bucks (so not like some steal of a purchase) a while back so I was happy it worked. EDIT: oh, I already posted that here. Well, in case you just REALLY WANTED TO KNOW.
  4. Hey hey now. It's more like competitive paint by number.
  5. Maybe that's what they used to draw Spiderman's outfit. I hate that my 3 year old loves their Spiderman game on my Wii.
  6. Eh, I freaking love wireless controller and the media functions of the 3 are great. PS2 had an amazing library though. As a console I pick 3. For the library its tough but I lean 2.
  7. I suspect those that have gamepad tilt controls on in Mario Kart Wii U also have dungeons in their basement.
  8. I played a good amount of the Wii Mario Kart but I feel nothing for it. Not sure if that's anyone else's experience.
  9. I never cared a lot for the SNES version. I really fell in love when 64 came out. I still like the battle arenas and a handful of the tracks a lot. I'd have trouble saying it's a better game in any way than some of the more recent releases, though.
  10. I think double dash was the the iteration where I fired a blue shell then passed the number 1 guy and got hit by it, losing the race. I was pretty much done with it that day. (regardless of it being my fault)
  11. http://www.gamestop.com/browse?nav=16k-3-Vintageconsole,28zu0,136 Just noticed them up. Edit: http://www.gamestop.com/games/chrono-trigger/122665 Looks Ebayish. I see most SNES titles are about what I'd expect on ebay.
  12. I never experienced this on the N64 from gameshark or NES from Game Genie but I rarely played savey games with it. It's messing with running code so I don't doubt it can have any number of totally unexpected side effects.
  13. The definition postings make this feel like the very long discussion about the word 'collections'. I hope we can avoid that. We all use words differently in different contexts, the definition game is just a path high post counts and tears.
  14. Now that I think about it, it may have been Maxius or Hyperspin. I know something had it. I sort of avoid the admin buttons out of personal preference. I ran an external PC power button to the top of my cab, which works since it's one of the prefab kiosk style deals and some old PC inside running some linux. I think I'd be more interested in the GPIO ideas floating around but I don't really know much about that aspect of the pi. Learning! http://www.raspberry-pi-geek.com/Archive/2013/01/Adding-an-On-Off-switch-to-your-Raspberry-Pi While typing this I googled for that and realized I'm over my head with some of the ideas at my current knowledge level.
  15. Hmmm..... It changes but here's mine currently. 1. Dreamcast - Due to my memories and time when it was current and how well it's aged for me. 2. SNES - Mostly due to memories of it as current. Only a few games do I still actually play. 3. N64 - I just have a softspot for the quirky early 3D and controller 4. Wii U - I really adore this console and how well it's held onto some core gameplay mechanics without a lot of BS. 5. PSX - JRPGs!!!! Cool old platfomers. Cool Borders 3. 6. Genesis - Mostly the sound and arcadyenss 7. Gamecube - Loved the controller as much as anything. 8. 3DS - Just good games. Big fan of the clamshell. 9. GBA - Probably could be higher but I really only had a few games when it was current. 10. Vita - It's new to be but a beautiful screen and set of controls. Sad it's support didn't seem very good from Sony. Games - pff, 10? Sorry, I'm pretty typical on these. 1. Earthbound 2. Chrono Trigger 3. Mario 64 4. Quake 3 (DC / PC to be fair( 5. Goldeneye 6. FF7 7. FF9 8. Castle Crashers (loads of fun with my wife) 9. Snowboard Kids - I can ALWAYS pick up and play this. 10. Bust-A-Move Ask me tomorrow and those will change. Honorable mentions (I'll stop at 5...): 1. Body Harvest 2. 7th saga 3. Mario Kart 8 4. Animal Crossing: New Leaf 5. Bravely Default Lots of just great games but some games I can always pick up and play again. EDIT: And yes, no Atari. I just like you guys for some reason.
  16. Just played a few rounds for the first time in a bit. Had an absolute blast. They've continued to unlock maps and add items. I'm nothing but impressed.
  17. I really liked Double Dash in coop mode. Solo it was just good on the scale of Mario Karts.
  18. I want to say wah!cade as a shutdown by button combo option, actually. Seems like if I rolled a pi2 I could swing that as a front end. (It's what I use now on my mame box) Not sure all the libraries it uses. I need to get off my butt and start hacking on it...
  19. I might check that out and toss it in my extra gray pad just to see how it is. How was installation?
  20. Yeah, SNES is far and away top of my nostalgia list but not for the cost. It's also just too heavily ported from / emulated well to touch some of those carts at the price. I did get another one last year and I've picked up 7th saga, Mario Allstars (was like 15 bucks, that's a fair deal) and Super R-Type. Everything else I come across is just not at all worth it to me when it can be had so many places for such little money. If I found some box of carts for cheap, though, I'd be ludicrous speed back to my TV.
  21. I think of hard as it takes a lot of resources. With gaming my resources are usually time and focus. Usually I think it's a high amount of attention to accuracy or memorizing patterns which requires a lot of repetition.
  22. As a user I feel that the interface does a great job of allowing me to filter around for games that fit my taste. No matter your marketing I'm not going to want a lot of the games just because I don't care for their genre. For each of us I'd argue the library is effectively a lot smaller than the whole. There are so many means for sharing preferences and watching friends likes etc that it makes a lot of smaller microcosms within the ecosystem.
  23. That setup is a dream as long as you work out shutting it off.
