I think some of you have a near 30 year lead on me. I'll bide my time. Yesssss. Yessssssss.

I voted for a squad from General Chaos. I thought it'd be a cool complement to the pikmen / olimar.
-
What about the butler in Tomb Raider 2?
-
That's much cooler than I thought it'd be.

I haven't noticed a brightness issue, but the display my N64 is on tends to be a bit dark. My only real issue with Mario 64 on the Wii U is that I have hell hitting the triple jump.

I got a cold.

Holy.. shit... That's about 114 hours less than me.
Have you tried the Japanese voices? It may be a little more ambigious instead.
I definitely felt like someone that wasn't as irritated by the voices would really just find joy in the game. I'll try the japanese voices. I tend to dislike most voice acting in RPGs. I actually shut it off in Bravely Default about three hours in. I seem to remember that not being an option in this one. My son just relinquished Peggle. Time to check it out.
Good call on the Japanese voices. This is much better.

Hmm.. How much time have you put into it? (This isn't a "Well, you should like it *THIS MUCH BECAUSE YOU PLAYED IT THIS MUCH* post, it's more or less just out of curiosity).I think around 6 hours, heh. The voice clips irritated me pretty quickly and I just tended not to return to it. But I did really love the sprawling world and battle system a lot. I may just reboot it on the Wii hooked up to the other TV.
-
When did you see that? I actually picked up their last copy a couple of weeks ago.. I plan on surprising my [rpg hungry] brother with a Wii system + Xenoblade Chronicles for his birthday in August.
On a side note, I can't state how much I feel it's worth more than a $75 title. I spent so much time with it I can't even begin to value it. I had fun the entire time (120+ hours).
BTW, side topic I suppose, where are you located now? It's not often I find AA'ers located near to me.

I just checked their site before I had posted that and it appeared to be stocked at that price. I still have a lot of the shops from the Virginia Beach area followed so I might have crossed my streams.
I keep telling myself to give the game more time but I often lose access to that TV so I tend to play games on the Gamepad (the Wii U has my save...). I have a good opinion of the game so far but it hasn't settled into a classic for me yet.
As for location: We ended up settling in Ashburn in one of these gated apartment community clones for now and are still very much getting acquainted with the area. It's by far the nicest area I've lived in before. I haven't heard one gunshot yet.

Yet, if it is a older popular nintendo game, that is exactly what has happened to the price even if they are not all that rare....
Or you can always just call them rare...

So I parsed the codes off this site:
http://niwanetwork.org/wiki/index.php/List_of_Nintendo_64_games_by_serial_code
Built the URLs and requested them all.
Only got these back:
Donkey Kong 64:
http://m1.nintendo.net/docvc/NUS/EUR/NDOP/NDOP_E.pdf
Super Mario 64:
http://m1.nintendo.net/docvc/NUS/EUR/NSMP/NSMP_E.pdf
http://m1.nintendo.net/docvc/NUS/USA/NSME/NSME_E.pdf
I return you to your normal foruming.
Now what to do with my day...

So that's a neat aspect of them being online now.
Which appears to be the
manualgame serial code...well I'm sick today...time to start trying them for...fun?http://m1.nintendo.net/docvc/NUS/EUR/NDOP/NDOP_E.pdf
Donkey Kongs!

I checked my local GameStop's in the last couple of weeks for this game and it seems all but one have sold out. Seems like the game's availability is about to dry up again (and thus a price hike is likely to follow).
Just moved to the area (looking at your location) about 2 months ago for work and I see estarland has it for like 75 bucks. Pretty sure I've seen it on their facebook a few times with the trade in photos. I got it at around 40 and it's great, I'm not sure it's 75 bucks great.

I find the TV ads to be sort of weird but not in a good way. I'd like to see them doing a bit more media than 'It's Mario! Mario is awesome!' As far as products I love them. My Nintendo gear remains the most stable and easy to access of any of my devices. Right now my main TV has an Xbox One, PS3 and Wii U hooked up and I have the least issues by far with the Wii U.
-
The VC treatment of DS titles is pretty surprised for me. The new titles on the Wii U have blown me way with their polish and overall value. I expect better.
-
I had 10 dollars credit and my son loves Mario 64 so I picked that up. It looks quite crisp on my 48" TV in the living room.
I also love Mario 64 but the second vote pushed me over.

I bet upgrading the kernel is really painful.

There are loads of kiosks for these things. If you play it and can't see it it's not there.
-
So we found that it's nice to toss on a kid's show and play something sometimes. Other than that's it's for me being ultra lazy and just flipping from a game to live TV.
-
I'm avoiding this game and will continue to boycott Mario Party games until they get it right. Hudson no longer makes these games its a group called ND Cube CO.
I...actually I should say we.... can't stand vehicular based progression where everyone playing is bunched together in a car forcing everyone to move together on a map and doing the same things and fighting the same bosses. I hated Mario Party 9. This review pretty much sums up how I would probably feel about Mario Party 10.
Anyway, I'm not trying to rain on your parade, if you like it that's great but these games are divisive. Some people like them, some people don't and prefer the older games.
One reason I still have my Gamecube/Wii around.

I had more or less classified them all as first party driven shovelware, to be honest. My wife likes them so I figured eh, I don't get to control all the gaming. I'm pretty sure the board game amiibo mode doesn't cluster you, I only played it once before my post. Since then we played the Bowser mode. I definitely don't consider it any sort of timeless classic but I'm really enjoying the heck out of it, myself. I get why others wouldn't care for it, though.
-
So I haven't played a Mario Party since 2 or 3, but I gotta say, as much as I hated motion controls they are a thousand times better than the old 'rotate the stick as fast as possible' that used to dominate. Actually really enjoying this iteration. The Wii U continues to have my favorite iterations of so many of Nintendo's franchises. The board game Amiibo mode I find especially enjoyable.
-
I don't like that they said "new hardware system with a brand new concept"... They said the same thing about the Wii U.
To a lot of gamers in like 3-4 years a regular game focused system will be a brand new concept.
That's probably not what they mean, though...

I think it's likely that this has more to do with their whole 'unified experience' thing they keep toting. Or the life improvement things they seem to have a lasting love affair with. I find that conversation to be confusing since they already seem to have the infrastructure for it all but have thus far failed to actually commit to it.
-
Luckily I just didn't notice the HDMI in at first or I'd have surely made the same error. I didn't realize it did the pass-thru thing at first. It's actually a pretty handy feature.
-
I'm about to grab a NUC for this purpose. My franken PC MAME machine is functional but I'm tired of the fan noise and stuff. I think I want a bit more connectivity than the sticks offer, personally. But it's probably pretty sweet overall.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection coming this fall
in Microsoft Xbox One
Posted · Edited by omegadot
I had played Halo when it came out on PC years ago and I didn't recall as many random nade deaths or walk out door and die moments as I've run into this run though. I've also raged out a few times.
