Do I open it? Sealed Demon Attack for O2
omegadot replied to ScottyDont00's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have no sealed items in my 'collection' but I do think they are kinda of a neat snapshot in time. If it's cheap easy or free (emulation) to play the game then I'd leave it sealed. -

Googled that, I see it does. I'll be damned. -

I agree for the most part, but I've had random launch failures on the xbox one that I tend to ascribe to all the things it tries to do each time. As far as the games themselves, we just have loads more options than I ever recall having, at least for recently released titles at any given time. For every MGS4 there's a #IDARB or whatever. And then there's Nintendo chuggling along with their thing. -

I bought Kirby for Wii U today. After dinner I let my son open it and we put it in. Minutes later we were greeted by a wonderful clayful Kirby game. It's not all terrible. Last night, not today... but yes. -
Nice, I was wondering about the pi 2's emulation ability. I know my pi was a little disappointing outside SNES.

When I was younger I had a blue CCFL in my tower. It was fun to have the blue glow radiate out. To me at least. I really hate blue LEDs that face me and I always electrical tape over them.

Not only is messages sort of quiet, the reasoning behind the naming scheme is just a mystery to me.

Oh gosh, I didn't even realize there would be different poses. I'm with you on that, no way do I collect all versions.

That's looks pretty cool. My wife and I love going through side scroll fighters so if the screens are any indication it's a candidate soon.

"Hm, according to this, 45% of all crashes happen with this plugin load and patch level. Interesting. Randomly pick someone from the sample and send them a cupcake." I'm not insulting you. I think that'd be awesome. -

I only own I think 4 BDs but they all have the option to hit top menu or some such and skip past all the previews. -
The last game that really wow'd me was Mario Kart 8. Just so much pizzazz and color! Nothing on my Xbox One has done that yet. I've only played a handful of games, though. Forza Horizons 2 is a pretty cool experience to be just drifting through the fields and stuff. I can't imagine that looking as good at the right framerate on the 360 but I'm not sure that's a huge deal for me.

I do grant the industry and other fans the fact that for me games are a more permanent thing. I don't just consume them and move on. For that reason things like stability and long term availability are a big deal. I think a lot of people consume games the way I consume movies and books. I rarely revisit either and don't worry much if they go poof. Games I waltz through and feel more connected to, so I want them to remain and I want them to be simple escapism from life. I also find I prefer a sort of wide and shallow complexity where my games are organized laterally and are not in a sort of decision tree that modern consoles tend to place them in where I'm often navigating through screens and menus to get to my goal. There's nothing that makes my enjoyment superior or anything, it's just a different goal. -

I agree with a lot of the discontent with content hoisting to a point. I like that I can have one less device hanging off my TV, though. I really like streaming my own media because I can leave my discs far away from my children and Plex and the other inbuilt dlna etc stuff allows me to do that. We had a roku that we used for a while but that's not really necessary at this point. I think the PS3 had it right. There was functionality but not a boatload of ads and what not all over. -

I just got an Xbone last weekend and I'm still not entirely sure how to use the interface. I can get where I want but I'm often surprised by what buttons do. It has some very nice features. Like when my daughter decided to crawl over and turn it off I was was able to boot and go right where my since and I left off, but the first time I had to actually close an application was a nightmare. And finding the settings was also not immediately obvious at all. Over all I'm still in the judging phase but it's way more complex than I'd prefer. The Wii U is like put game in, go. Now you are playing a game. That I like. -
What is the Worst Game you Ever Bought?
omegadot replied to Classic Pac's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've very risk averse in game purchases, but now I recall: Devil May Cry 4. I loved the demo and then when I got the game I realized that a good portion of the game was backtracking around the demo. And timed jumping puzzles with a freaky camera? Piss off. -
This was a fun surprise for me. I got it just because I just got an Xbone and it was on the game for gold section. It's quite a bit of simple fun.

Good lord I gotta stop foruming during kids + coffee time. Mario 3D land and pokemon heart gold. I own MK7, I make no sense.
-
Huh, this was free on the FireTV and I have a 360 paddle for that but I ended up ditching the device because the entire experience was terrible. I figured these games would be meh at best.
-
Sorry, I used the first MK7 and Heart Mario 3D Land. I got excited then my kid woke up with a cold.
-
It's worth noting, ROMs tend to work in specific MAME versions. Getting them together is ideal. But realize that there is no 'arcade console' exactly. You are emulating a ton of hardware configurations so it's understandably less simple than zsnes.

The comment folding and overall structure makes Facebook difficult to use for much more than glorified comments. -
What is your favorite NES Super Mario Brothers game?
omegadot replied to Shawn's topic in Poll Forum
3, but really because of my memories playing it with friends. For gameplay I liked 2 because it stood out, even if it was a hack for us lowly US gamers. -

Any experience I've had with gaming groups on Facebook has been awful.
