  12. I would recommend adding CHECKSUM to any type in programs that may come to pass. It was used in MICROpendium for quite a few years. It sure helped out on debugging programs that were typed in. Of course, you have to load in the CHECKSUM monitor program before you start typing, but it was no big deal.

  16. I wish you were in Phoenix so I could have a look at the TI recorder. I can’t help feeling that it just needs switches cleaned.
  17. Since the QFX recorder does not have a MIC jack I am assuming that the mic should be disabled by setting the switch to LINE IN, but who knows.
  18. Looking at the first image I noticed that 2 of the jacks are LINE IN and LINE OUT. I did a search for a manual on this recorder - found it and it states that the LINE IN is just that - It is set up for a line level input - which means it's looking for a signal that's much louder than a MIC signal. The TI puts out a MIC level signal which is probably too low for the LINE IN input. I'm assuming that's why it won't record properly. One thing you could try is open the recorder up and find the built in MIC, clip the leads and attach a 1/8" phone jack to it and see if it will record a good tape for you then. I know that sounds kind of hokey but we TI'ers are known for doing whatever it takes to make something work.
  19. Well, no success - I used John Birdwell's Disk Utilities and searched in BOOT and BOOU for 633B in hex and found nothing.
  20. Thanks Rich I'll give that a shot tomorrow morning and report my findings.
  21. Hey Rich, Is there any way RXB can be made to be recognized by JJ's BOOT program? Or can BOOT be modified to recognize RXB? I use BOOT exclusively as a start menu and have for many years. Using the "[ get menu" and "] put menu" I have ALL the software I use to compose Yesterday's News available very quickly. I also have many other menus I page in when needed. For me, it's the greatest.
