Just made it so, My Captain. Green screen on verification. Isn't that helmet a bit tight with the brains you got??

FYI Just loaded up the 5/9 version of Gazoos fabulous software. Did the verification process - grom and rom verified good, green screen. I prefer my boot to load from disk 3. Using a sector editor I change the dsk1 to dsk3. Reloaded 5/9. Ran verification. Grom unhappy. Rom happy. But we know why, don't we. Just shows that verification process works awesomely just like the cart itself. Gazoo is the man!

Commodore 64 Black Screen
sparkdrummer replied to Oldschool80skid's topic in Commodore 8-bit Computers
Hello All, First post to this part of Atariage because I am a TI'99er first and foremost. However, I enjoy all vintage computers/gaming machines and have 2 C64 computers. One is an SX64 and works just fine. The other is a 64C and does not - black screen. I have plugged in a kickman cartridge and get the screen attached here. I have opened the computer up and I reseated the chips - no change. I did a touch test and found u10 and u22 (ram) too hot to touch - replaced the ram chip in u10 (socketed) and could not in u22(not socketed) Somebody must have been in the computer before, right? Anyway, Do you think replacing the hot u22 ram will fix the issue and get the computer to work properly? Thanks for any tips you might be able to give me. -Ralph... -
I believe tigervision made the side carts to override the 2.2 console lockout.

I have found that using BOOT is the easiest way to view a file. You cannot however edit.

I cheated and looked up the call for it.

Ive got one those ti pros, with the original color monitor. Sure would like to find an mfm hard drive controller for it. It only has two full height floppys right now.

Tony Could the problem be in the console itself? I know there were different consoles made with a different clock crystal so the turbo mod could not be done on them. Could one of these consoles effect anything?

Thanks pal Bummer that that source code never turned up.

Just wondering why a corcomp dsqd EEPROM was never produced?

Yeah, I've got a couple black flex cable cards.

I'd be interested as well. Has anyone ever come up with a method of saving/loading programs without a hexbus? Amongst the collection of cc40 computers I also have one that was put out by a horse racing company. Maybe the cartridge for it is something special?

I'm not sure if the dip switches are set correctly to couple with the ti. I believe I have them set to a default setting. I see two of the LEDs light when I try a atdt command, but I get no response back on the screen. The cable I'm using I marked years ago "modem" but that's no guarantee it will work with this modem. Thanks for your help on this guys.

I am trying to hook up a US Robotics modem to my TI system so I can do a little local BBS'ing (HEATWAVE). The model is 0701. Can this modem work with a TI? I have tried a few things but have pretty much forgot how to hook a modem up successfully. The software I'm using is TERM80, which is the last I used when I did BBS'ing back in the day. Any help is much appreciated. -sparkdrummer

Yeah, figured that.

I have a myarc 512 card in both of the systems I presently have set up. I have noticed that when I use the the xb27suite module that mdm5 will not load, I just get a glitched blue and white screen. If I put in the 2048k games 1 cart it will not come up in the opening menu at all. I pop in a ti 32k and all is iwell. Is there something funky about the myarc 512?
