  1. For female card edge connectors I use the cheap 99 cent store q-tips. They must be the ones with the hollow plastic tube. I squeeze the tip to flatten it out, dip it in alcohol and scrub away until one finally comes out clean. You'd be amazed of the gunk that I've gotten out - especially the cart port. I use a regular good brand q-tip to scrub the male part of the connector with alcohol.

Try it, you might like it!

  2. Since this topic already asks the question "What is it?" I figured I'd post it here.

Yet another item dug up from going thru my cart pile. The device below I acquired from a former member of the VAST Users Group here in Phoenix, J.R. Klabunde. Jan was an exceedingly intelligent individual and usually spoke way above my level of understanding. He even wrote an article or two for the defunct Arizona 99 UG - which really wasn't a users group but a private business of sorts that sold newsletters and other TI stuff. You can read one of Jans articles on the WHT, under Arizona users group Feb-Mar 1984 - "The Secret Assembler"

Anyway, I got this thing from Jan and I thought it was a non battery backed supercart, but I'll be damned if I can remember. The SPDT switch is toast so I'll have to replace it. Anybody have any ideas on this thingie?

  3. I've been painfully sorting out all my TI cartridge "spares" and came across this Munchman cart with the pop riveted clip attached to it.

How many on here remember going to your favorite TI retailer and pulling down a chained cartridge to try before you buy?

Brings back memories of going to a local store to buy TI-99/4A stuff.

  4. Hello there,

Yes, sounds very reasonable. Is this the cart that comes with the other utilities on it as well? If not, I can do the 20 carts plus cash or possibly all carts if you wish for the larger cart - I have a lot of spare carts - not counting my private collection I have 3 to 4 banker boxes full.

Also - I'm assuming your main criteria is the screw bottom cart?

I will probably take you up on the removal of the boards - just to save a penny or two when I ship.

I am going to unearth my cartridge spares this weekend and see what different titles I have. I will need to post the titles for Ciro because he asked first for any possible trades before I left the post for you.

Thank you for your reply, I'll be getting back in touch.

  5. Hello there,

Let me get back to you. I'm going to try and dig out all my "spare" cartridges this weekend as well as cartridge manuals. I looked at your list and believe me, you and I are running neck and neck on cartridge count - amongst other TI related stuff...

  6. Gazoo,

How many sacrificial carts would it take to get an XBv2.7 gratis?

I have a TON of carts that have come my way over the years. I was going to eventually list them on Ebay with no sales for sure. Besides I'd rather see them re-purposed for stuff like you do.

  7. I've read a post or two in other messages about fellow TI'ers that do not have a disk copy of Alpiner. Very suprising, because I have a ton of cartridge to disk conversions and I don't have it either. I'm pretty sure a conversion must have taken place because they are available on Ebay. I'd buy one but I think the seller asks too much - I think $5.00 shipped is a fair price. Does anybody have this game on disk?

  8. Hello all,

New member here although I have visited and read posts and such many times. Very nice site.

I am looking for any possible help to repair a Myarc MPES system that I have. I purchased it off eBay many moons ago and was told that it works - and of course it doesn't.

Supposed to have 32k memory - when I do a "SIZE" command from XB it only show the console memory.

When I try to access a disk drive the stepper motor click a couple of times and then quits with an error.

I have checked for voltage at the memory chips and there is none. I am limited in my knowledge of electronics so I'm fearful to go further without

    some advice.

Or is there anyone on this site who could repair for me?

    Thanks for reading
