  1. Its funny to me considering the topic is "its alive"... Right now there's a fully open source intv core on github that's part of the mister FPGA project that could be ported by an enterprising individual as a base for a diy cartridge. Or heck a complete system.
  2. I'm wondering if you can use the mega everdrive on the Mega Sg to run master system and SG-1000 games without the adapter modules. Or even game Gear games if krikkz added support..
  3. It might not be the way kevtris works but theoretically any company out there can put together an FPGA TG16 using the open source core and a cyclone V if they really wanted to so long as they honoured the open source license. Mimic the case design for a core grafx or PC engine, it'd probably do well. That said anything kevtris produces is also top notch so who knows what the future has in store. Analogue portable devices perhaps . Or Nintendo switch style dockable systems..
  4. Well I wonder if kevtris really needs to do a TG-16/PCE core if they did release an analogue TG as the one used in MiST/MiSTer is pretty good and open source. Would it really be cost effective to reimplement his own from scratch or for analogue to just reuse the open source core that exists.
  5. I'm surprised they don't just make a new model using the SuperNT shell recoloured with NES/famicom colours and controllers
  6. I have no idea what's going on anymore since I ignore most of the comments of people saying "I want this" and "Sign me up" and "when is this coming out", something about a lottery now? and double sided cartridge? Did I miss something or have people just gone mad.
  7. I'll give the retrovgs people credit, they don't give up on trying to get this thing made. They really seem to believe in it. They're the only ones but hey. First, ditch that controller. If that's the controller they're going to include, just don't include a controller at all. Make it so that you can interface with any generic bluetooth controller like the 8bitdo controllers. Or at least let it work with a bluetooth dongle add on. USB is not enough. If it's a retro system, you don't need an analog stick. You just don't. why not add gyro's while you're at it then. I'd make the first target system for the FPGA something like the Gameboy Advance. It's relatively recent enough that companies can port their old GBA IP's to this thing, and maybe make use of a 4 face button controller. If they want to add future features through firmware upgrades, that's fine too. Finally, I'd include some sort of online component to it. 32 bit games with online multiplayer could be interesting. But that's just me.
  8. also interested in one of these whenever it becomes available.
  9. interesting. if people cant wait for a third run of the sgm, they can hack something together if they really want to. Wonder what other kinds of expansion slot things people could do. NES adapter would be amusing. RPi style computer option would be doable.. probably better if you do the vga mod to the coleco first, so kind of limited appeal.
  10. I've been thinking lately about how Coleco designed their Atari adapter for the Colecovision. Since the Coleco has a 30 pin cartridge slot and the Atari had 24 pins, certainly they couldn't reuse the cartridge slot and had to have another one, but couldn't they have done something like Sega did with the Genesis Power base converter? Or like those retrobit converters for the SNES? Would it possible to design an Atari converter that clips on the cartridge slot rather than the expansion slot and simply reuses the colecovisions controller ports? Maybe using something like the chip in the Atari Flashback 2? I know even the NES can do it since the retrovision gameboy adapter exists. I know there was a rumoured Intellivision adapter for the Coleco that never made it to production.. Would they have made it in the same way as the Atari Expansion adapter? Have any prototypes ever been seen? Is there a technical reason the Atari adapter that uses the expansion port can't use the coleco joystick ports? Or did they just figure it'd be cheaper and easier to throw in the atari parts into one device and use the expansion port since it exists.I mean
  11. Thanks for the direct link. I tried it in Google Chrome and it does show up there, but in Firefox it only shows the second line. I wonder if it's just my system that's screwed or something firefox related.
  12. I don't see an option specifically for Harmony Encore. Are you only selling the Harmony Encore revision now? Is the $59.99 price the price of the encore?
  13. Two Colecovision Adam controllers, a bit dirty but whatever easy enough to clean. Also for some reason I also have the instructions for Moonsweeper and Omega Race. I was going to put it up on Ebay but I figured I'd put it here first if someone wants it for a reasonable price. I'm located in Winnipeg Canada though so keep shipping in mind. **edit controllers are sold. manuals still available as of 11/06/14
