Based on my communication with Best, I'll order a new mobo from them. As per this motherboard, it may be useful for parts, or maybe I can practice removing the ICs, who knows.

does the converted NES controller work on a Genesis?

If only I saw this before. Just ordered a 5.25 floppy last week. There is some market for these things. Do you have any info on the 5.25 drive? brand? is it high density or double density?
