Iv seen you can convert a genesis joypad to rotary for tempest 2000. Im wondering can you convert the genesis controller to work with the jag ?
I hate the dpad on the normal jag controller..
Thanks.

Any idea what kind of price your going to be looking at ? Also how many do you think you'll be able to make, I mean I'm expecting a big demand for this, I can see massive fire sales on eBay incoming too.
-
Thanks guys, I think I'll give it a miss. I can't justify 360 dollars than import costs on top for a controller..
-
Hi guys, really want a pro controller for my jag. But the prices on eBay are plain crazy.
From those who use them are they worth the high cost ?
Thanks..
-
Yeah it was me who posted about it, it's been working like a dream since I got it, that one from Germany looks a bit cheap tho.
Saying that, I have purchased there csync RGB scart adapter for the Atari jag which allows you to use any normal scart lead. I can post a link if anyone is interested.

I can't remember the thread I found this one on, but some of the users said it was a good supply.
https://en.retrogamesupply.com/products/power-supply-all-in-one-for-atari-jaguar-cd
(Edit: Just found it http://atariage.com/forums/topic/263739-jaguar-jaguar-cd-2-in-1-power-supply/?view=findpost&p=3737337&hl=%2Bpower+%2Bsupply
A single user has it, I really need to get better with the search feature)

Bought one myself, it ships from France (took a while to get to the states). Haven't done much testing besides verifying it would run the systems at the same time. Universal 110-240V input, 9V & 3A output, and a lot smaller than it looks.

no worrys

Iv Got one and it works perfect...I got it from here...
Im very happy with it.

Nope, you need a DPDT switch, so it can switch both lines at once.
Ok thanks for the advise.. Been a great help .
-
Can I ask what switchs do you use would any on off switch work ?
-
Ok, so here are a couple pics. One is of the pcbs with the correct connecting wires exposed for ground, left and right; in order from left to right. In other words 1,2 &12. The same as the solder points that would have been used.
The other pic is of the rotary/switch assembly attached. Ground from the rotary and left/right from the rotary, to the switch then to the correct wires.
Hope these help!
Wow thanks, how easy is that, you don't even need to solder just use crimps..
Is this the same for the black keyed joypads ?
-
I'm actually building a duo front mounted dial version with switch for a customer this weekend. I'll snap a pic before I close it up and post it here. Probably tomorrow morning.
That would be great thanks
-
I had The same problem when I try to use the solder points as well. That's why I only use the wires connecting the two separate circuit boards. I just remove the covering of the wires a little and connect the rotary leads there.
Why didn't I think of that.. lol how easy is that. Can you share A diagrame or pic please ?
Wonder how easy it would to put a switch on that way ?
-
Thanks guys, I'll open her up again later and desolder and start again

Need a little advise guys, iv done a tempest 2000 rotary mode, everything works well, apart from buttons B & C dont work unless i press both together.
I guess iv got a trace or solder touching each other. But doesn't look like it.
Its hard to make out what the correct solder point is on my diagram for B & C so im asking kindly can anyone point me in the direction of a clear picture of the jaguar circuit board points (im using the grey button controller)..
thanks

I'll just say this again... I get it completely. If I was you I would want faster communication too.
I apologize for it. We dropped the ball. :-(
Game came today... Well it's at post office but no Biggy.. Thanks for the quick turn around..
-
Yes. Protector SE always tries to boot a CD if the CD unit is present and a CD is inserted, regardless of whether the CD is encrypted or not. See this page for more details:
I don't think I mention this in the manual, but if you press and hold Option it will skip the CD boot and start Protector SE instead.
Thanks for the info
-
Before I try do I just pop the protector se cart in and cd and turn on Jag ?
-
I never knew Protector se could be used as an bypass card ..I'll have to try it

Yeah it bites us in the arse big time. I had a friend in the States pick it up for me and bundle it with a load of other stuff to lessen the pain. I will say it's worth it though. I reckon it's up there with Tempest as one of the best games on the platform.
Hi, yeah it sounds really good.
Think ill wait a bit tho, as iv spent loads of late building my collection.. Dont tell the wife.
Not that big yet, just chasing Rayman currently ...
-
It's the Jaguar if you're not used to being bent over by now, you're doing something wrong. OR obscenely right!

Too right, spent loads all ready, but I'm pretty happy with my collection so far ..

Yup, those guys are crazy.
Oh yeah, I'm one of them. :-\
What others have said is basically correct. We've both been swamped getting the Midwest Gaming Classic together, but that's only half the story because if it was just that, we would have a note up on the web site and all that. It's also the last few days have been insane in our personal lives too. Sick kids, sick me, a tree that fell over, a car that had to be taken into the shop, some work deadlines that I didn't realize were deadlines, and about twenty other things no one else really cares about. And that's just me, Gary has had a similar last couple days.
If anyone is paying close attention, the mgc Facebook page had no updates whatsoever for the past two days either. When that happens in this season, you can tell something is up.
The good news is, if you still want your order, Gary and I are getting together in about twenty minutes to hopefully dig through email, reply to everything from the last few days, send get on top of it. Gary is planning on a half day at work tomorrow to catch up on packages I believe, and he did tell me he intends to have them out tomorrow when I spoke with him this morning to try to figure out what we can do.
So, greatly apologize. I won't pretend we are the fastest guys in the world for replies - as someone else mentioned, this is a hobby shop, it isn't a big money maker, just more something we do because we love sharing the joy of retro gaming. We try, but we also, perhaps stupidly, try to manage too many things at once sometimes and end up playing catch up top much.
Expect an email back from Gary or I within the next two hours!
Hi no problem, why some feel the need to attack me over this is unreal.. Atleast I know I'll think twice about asking for any advise on these forums again. But thanks for your post, it as explained a lot..
Welcome to retro gaming, Jesus.

Firstly why are you attacking me ? I was seeking advise from this site, which Some offered. After less than 2 business days you're wanting to reverse payment? People really should do their homework on who they're buying from A) before buying, B) before posting things like this. As BassGuitari mentioned they run the MGC, one of the largest retro gaming shows. They're not scammers, they're a great part of the retro gaming community.
It's a business and after Iv paid I just kinda of expected an email update..Nothing wrong with that.
Secondly I rasied a ticket because I coulndt check on there web site (kept getting an error), but yes sadly after 2 working days I did expect some kind of response or order update not error screen ?
An update was really all I wanted. Which as now happened..
