I'm going to throw in my $0.02 on the idea of an SD slot for the Intellivision and Atari flashback systems of the future. If it were "easy" to play any cartridge image that one could download from the internet, I could see lawyers scrambling for their place in line to sue AT games, claiming their product openly allowed the playing of licensed software. If there are any lawyers on AtariAge, please step up and comment. Disney could in theory sue (win is a different story) AT Games for selling a product that allowed playing of Disney licensed games. While the suit might or might not be legitimate, it would tie up AT Games in court so long it could kill them. However, and to address the concern about "buy a new version of the product", the SD card slot could be advertised as "Download home-brewed games created at the AT Games labs". The company, for a fee, could allow downloading of in-home written games to the SD card slot. AT Games could claim "oh we didn't realize people could copy cartidge images and play them on our systems". Just random thougths from a first-time poster
