No it doesn't. I realize I probably need to hunt down a keyboard for it, as all I have are USB keyboards.

So this Geneve 9640 came up for sale on eBay at the same tolime I got a bonus at work, and so I thought, Why not? And I got it. I remeber wanting one badly as a teenager. Im looking forward to delivery, but now I am looking for tips on how to get started with the Geneve 9640. I really dont know how to get it set up and use it. Thanks for any help! Coolio

I actually wrote a game like this back in the mid-80s. Even got collisions with the edges worked out. Never released the game, as I never really finished it. As I recall, I never was really happy with how the game locked. The scrolling wasn't smooth like Parsec, and I wondered how they did it on Parsec.

Thanks. I will look into these ideas and see what I can do. I may be asking for some help once I figure out a path.

I have been creating some LED matrix projects being driven by an Arduino ( example project ), but I was wondering if I could drive the LED matrix with my TI instead. What I am seeking is advice on is where would be a good point to get a controllable +5V digital signal? I am using 74HC595 shift registers to control my LED matrices, so I would just need 3 digital line: the serial signal, a clock signal, and a latch signal. Can this be done via the side port? The cartridge port? I remember from the 80's there was a project to create an RS232 device through the joystick port, is that another option? Is there an design for a GPIO-like card for the PEB? Thanks for any pointers to help me get started with this project!

Wow ... that's just horrible. -
The one thing I would like to see improvement on for the HDX is a server for Mac or Linux. However, in the mean time using Wine works just fine for running the server app (just the file navigation is a bit rough on the Mac platform).

Ha ha ... I actually immediately offered $25 when I say it listed. My offer was also rejected.

Will the game take advantage of the SID Master 99 card if installed? -
Here is a relative cheap (low starting bid compared to past listings) MBX game system with some games.

That was a self-built SID Master card. I like the music. Someday when I get the time, I will program it too.

Woo hoo! Got mine: And here it is in slot 2:

Possibly because of poor platform identification, there are currently no bidders on this $100 P-Code card with disks: http://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/181991873916

Um .. yeah. That's from many years ago back when me and my wife got engaged. The drawing above the TI 99/4a monitor (the left one) is my daughter's impression of my more recent appearance. What the years will do to you -

OK, I finally got around to doing this. Here is my TI 99/4a setup. This is my desk with both my TI 99/4a and my every day Mac (I am a programmer by trade, but mostly "big data" and machine learning stuff). The TI 9/4a is the original unit I bought with my paper route money back in 1983. I have since enhanced the console with a F18A, and enhanced my PEB with both the flex card tune up and the 2 amp power upgrade, though I haven't yet installed the second disk drive to justify it. Inside my PEB: There you will find the upgrade flex card, the standard 32K card, a P-Code card (old style without the power switch), an RS-232 upgraded with HDX (purchased from Arcade Shopper), a SID Master card I assembled (love that SID 6581 music), and my original Myrac disk controller. I have a decent collection of carts, but they are in storage, so no pictures. I like having carts like the 2048K Games 1 so that I don't have to have a pile of them on my desk. Also love the HDX connection with my Mac. Also in storage is an MBX unit, an OSCAR Data Bar, a Super Sketch, a non-working triple tech card (need to fix that), a ram disk card, and some other oddities. I would love to pick up a Geneva someday. I remember wanting one of those when they came out, but was headed off to college and they had fancy computers there to play with, so my TI went into storage until about 5 years ago when I brought it out to show my kids what computers used to be like. I also remember wanting the CP/M card when I was a kid because I somehow had the belief that it was the best language to know. I also recently picked up some beige units that I let my kids play on, and a nanoPEB. I use the TI these days mostly for nostalgia gaming, teaching programming to my kids (TI Logo II and TI Basic), and enjoying the currently vibrant home-brew scene going on here at Atari Age. If I ever get time (day job and family keeps me busy), I intend to (re)learn assembly language and see what I can do. I probably would be most interested in messing with the SID Master card. -

This is my desk with my TI 99/4a and my every day Mac. The two are connected through an serial HDX connection. -
I found I had to upgrade the firmware of my F18A for this program to work correctly (I had v1.5). But once I did ... OMG, I did not think this quality of gaming was possible on the TI. Just wow. Great job Rasmus!

Sorry to hear that, Greg. I hope things work out soon for you. What kind of field are you in?

Just curious, what is the status of this project?
