I am happy with mine. I got the nanoPEB F18A model.

Hey MadDuck, how are you with a soldering iron? Just curious. I've gotten better since I have gotten back into my TI these last few years. I decided that one TI I keep as bone stock, and one is my "modding" TI*. I plan on modding the hell out of my mod TI. Next thing to do is solder the speech module inside the console.
Darryl
* Actually, I have four consoles: a stock black/silver one, a stock beige one, a beige QI with 1981 firmware, and my beige mod TI.

Yeah, the Mitsumis can be identified by a smooth brown colored back. The green ones with solder points are good. You can usually see enough of the keyboard through the vent holes if there is a halfway decent shot of the underside of the console.

All 3 still work but none of them has very good soldering work.
Have you gone and re-flowed the solder on any of them or do you wait for a failure before considering doing that?

Welcome to TI paradise, MaDDuck!
Sad news about the NanoPEB. I must've gotten one of the last ones he made. I sincerely hope somebody else can carry on making it, and maybe even improving the design someday.
Highly recommend the F18A, and even though mine has not arrived yet, the FlashROM cart.

I desoldered the audio/video port and put a standard 1/8" audio connector.

OK, so I have removed the white LED and replaced it with a nice blue LED. Wow! I love it. Here are some photos.
Here are photos of the process:
Thanks to OLD CS1 and Omega for some dandy blue LEDs. The while LED was just too bright. This blue matches the blue color bar on the switch.
Now correct me if I am wrong here. I am no electronics expert. But I believe replacing that resister with a stronger one will dim the LED even more.

I replaced mine. make sure you get a low profile battery holder. The first one I got was too tall and would not fit inside the cart shell.

I made some slight adjustments to the VGA plate in the back of my TI. And I thought I would share some more photos.
These two show the VGA plate with audio in the back all finished up. You may notice new screws holding the plate in place. These look a little nicer and are flush mounted. You can't mount the audio too close to the video otherwise, the plug may not have room.
Here's some photos showing the plate as the console is taken apart. One of the photos shows the old screws holding the plate in place,

So I am ready to tackle this problem again. I am convinced my friend and I were using this code that used either the corcomp hardware or the myarc.
I'd like help changing this loader code. I haven't worked with this ti stuff in a long time.

I wound up desoldering them. I'd still like to identify the bad chip so I can throw it out.

Today, I saw a munchman diskette (official TI) on eBay. I didn't know that existed. Says loads with EA or XB. I'd be interested in checking out the load program.

You can also get the same exact cable for $9.00 less by clicking << HERE >>
It ships from the same exact place, only the price is lower.
Geez! The shipping! $9.82 to ship this thing! Must be in a solid gold box.

You crack me up. LOL. I appreciate both of your offers. I sent you both a PM. I want to try them both out. Also, if one of these turns out to be perfect, I'd like to somehow find out who the supplier is so maybe I can order some... and perhaps even pay it forward someday.

Nice! Did you get a 16" cable or something shorter?

I would like to make an extension cable for my NanoPEB. It currently plugs in so tight that I feel like I am damaging the NanoPEB when I try to unplug it. Can I have some help finding the parts I need?
Darryl

It must've been the threat of a heat gun that did it.

What is the mcd value? Do you remember?

Thanks! I took a long hiatus. Life got me busy. My TI was taken apart all this time waiting for me to finish the VGA mod.

Green is good. I will use a diffused blue if I can find one easily. The bright water-clears seem to be the easiest blues to find in the stores.
Did you ever find the blues? I'd like to get some. I don't like the white. It's just too bright.

Thanks guys! This forum rocks.

How much work would it be to make a sidebus version of this card? Could this be the start of new type of nanoPEB design?
