The pocket does come with a microSD slot. Didn't Kevin release a bunch of FPGA cores for one of their other systems to load through the SD card?
-
I don't know if he's made an official announcement yet, but it's spotted in the wild at the @Songbird booth: Same high-quality print stock as used with his other recent Lynx box print run.

I'm not sure UberStrategist is being paid enough:

The Leaker strikes again! Real classy, Fred. Real classy:

It really makes me wish I could remember my BASIC coding skills from decades ago. @Songbird still occasionally encourages me to pick it up again.
-
Is this still true? If it is, it really showcases the toolset. If it's not still in Raptor BASIC+, then it still shows how one could prototype a game.
-
It's been great to see this progress. 😄

All of the Internet: There goes Fred with his non-working Ataribox. Powerdubs: We don't know for sure what's in the inside. 🤪🤪🤪😂

You folks are on a roll. Busted. It was actually Fred and Stewart Varney.

Wait, what? Not all heroes wear capes.

He's holding the joystick, too. Poor diehard pigeons were expecting a big reveal today. 😕

That's pretty dry and clever--if you get the joke.

FPGA Based Videogame System

ExtremeTech and ArsTechnica are both reporting this: -
All text version of The Oregon Trail
PlaysWithWolves replied to mozartpc27's topic in Tandy Computers
This is the version of Oregon Trail that I remember. In the thread about a handheld Oregon Trail, I was surprised to find how different it was. It had me wondering if I was thinking of another game! It was more of a typing game than anything. I was thinking the school computers were TRS-80s with monochrome monitor circa 83/84. Maybe it was the Model 4, but I may have killed those brain cells a few years later. I was thinking it had ASCII graphics though. -
Not sure if this has been posted anywhere, but ExtremeTech lists which FPGAs they're using:

In a strange way, Vladr actually benefits from his posts being deleted. It allows him to play the victim; pretending he didn't instigate plenty himself. Over in the Lynx forum he threw plenty of shade in the Jaguar forum's direction. I know one of his posts got deleted, because I reported it. How I regret now ever doing so, because it should be on full display in its full naked glory; the Emperor's New Clothes, so-to-speak. Anyone walking into this thread and just see a bunch of meanies attacking a guy who wants to have fun with the Jaguar is missing the big picture and a lot of history. I think most of us even want to see these wondrous things. Like CJ once did, and perhaps still does: Vladr didn't stop sharing code--he never started. He may have shared some rough ideas. But when confronted by knowledgeable people that the finished product wouldn't work so well, he'd get angry ... and not prove anyone wrong. People were initially helpful toward him, but his giant ego got in the way every time. He claims he doesn't do all of this for the attention, but what happened after he posted that screenshot? Three hours later he was complaining he didn't get attention. Go figure. Nobody wants your code that doesn't exist for a game that doesn't exist. I truly hope you have a safe trip and you actually show at PRGE. Proving people wrong should be as simple as knocking out a 40-minute Outrun.

-Cheddar is the only place reporting Chesnais is attending. -AtariVCS has nothing about the conference today on Facebook and Instagram. On Twitter, only a retweet of a Cheddar post--and Reddit, a "Thank for sharing!" to someone for posting the Cheddar video. Chesnais did announce he's headed out there. -DesTechAZ has no live stream as far as I can tell. Expect a big nothingburger for dinner tonight. Or go get a taco.

For legal reasons, the ATARIpocket will now be known as the "ATARIpox Pocket". Previous picture changed. For uniformity, Atari will now call its moddern console the "ATARIpox VCS". It may also be called the "ATARIpox Box".
