  1. Have you reserved your low-serial-number edition yet? #001-100 $749 "Beta Developer-companies only" — only 91 left! #101-250 $649 "Influencer Edition" — only 93 left! #251-500 $549 "Deluxe Edition" — only 145 left! #501-750 $449 "Special Edition" — only 146 left! #751-1000 $349 "First Edition" — only 227 left!
  2. @Clint Thompson @Flojomojo The campaign-proper ended June 30th. We quit updating June 15th because I no longer felt I could trust the numbers. I think it was because those numbers were too high. We just didn't know how many cancellations there were. Here's a link briefly explaining the caveats and then linking to the original posts that Flo and I made: I show 10940 backers on that day, which I think I got directly from IGG at the time of the post. IGG says (see below screenshot) there were 11,216 backers when the campaign ended, and 11,624 when the campaign really ended (June 11th, 2019). So even if every single person who became a supporter (from donation to joystick to tribue edition console) that's only maybe 700 more supporters--bringing the estimate to 9293. I believe that's the maximum number and probably quite a bit fewer. Like Flojo said, not everyone bought consoles. I believe even a few people here paid $1 just to be able to post.
  3. This is still one of my favorite posts and still more real than AtariVCS. If I created the new AtariAge magazine, it would've been my first-issue centerfold:
  4. "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today." Which is oddly fitting for a Vladr thread.
  5. Nice detective work! Even the font matching tools I tried didn't show that one. Here's Aban Regular if bold is too thick: https://www.whatfontis.com/Aban-Regular-naghachian.font
  6. Keep in mind this is mocking a user on the insular Atari VCS Supporters Facebook group who accused @ColecoJoe of being @Tommy Tallarico(TT). It's not really about TT:
  7. So, has the microphone been memory-holed? I saw that rumor in the Register article. They thought I was crazy when--toward the end of the IGG campaign--I laid out why Atari wasn't going to do multimedia apps. Who's laughing now? WHO'S LAUGHING NOW?!?
  8. Anyone who questioned Rob Wyatt's motivations to speak about Atari, please pick up your prize at the front desk: Gameboard-1 digital board game console launches Kickstarter campaign Pretty bold for him to list working with Atari on the Kickstarter. 😂
  9. Oh I think Faith may be fitting if Atari is like a bad girlfriend:
  10. I'm sure you'll recall that they also started threatening other users with banning. But sure: Technically they only did that much.
  11. Yeah, my mistake. I was referring to your question about Wyatt going to ElReg instead of other places. I should've double-checked before putting quotes. Apologies!
  12. Yeah, I think he removed that and possibly more about the financials. Someone on Twitter asked him specifically about profits and number of employees, then later put up a screenshot from the financial report showing twenty employees, profit, etc. So far they are a better source of information than the "reliable" places you like. So much so, some of those have been quoting ElReg lately!
  13. It was definitely in the article at one point.
  14. The only thing in this thread even moderately resembling something like Road Rash is @VladR's tall tales. We're currently stuck on the snowy track, even with our Jeep. Will the Pacific Highway track be next?
  15. I wondered that too. I think he's since edited that out; at least I can't find it anymore: https://www.theregister.co.uk/2019/10/08/atari_architect_quits/
  16. I think it's rampant speculation and a convenient scapegoat for delays. Tin Giant has 4 employees. I doubt more than two are paid to sit around and remind Wyatt to pull his hands out of his pants. So, maybe work could progress even while he had some downtime. He was well enough by June to be in a seedy Atari hotel room across from CGE. This is like trying to figure out which is the cleanest pig in the pen. They're all muddy. Wyatt is problematic. Atari is problematic. Using the term "problematic" is problematic. There are no heroes here.
  17. How's that December shipment to backers looking?
  18. Don't be like me and forget AtariArtist is the "AtariAge Magazine" dude, Montgomery "Monty" Gabrys. 🤣 Monty might be broken-clock right about Wyatt leaving, but just over a year ago he did a sexy four-page copy-paste about Wyatt and Tin Giant in his very first "'zine" issue. Literally just a copy-paste of the Medium.com Q&A: You can find the magazines archived over here, but be warned: Clicking on them might nudge the readership there from double-digits to triple!
  19. Screenshot for posterity's sake. The word "starting" is problematic but the Indiegogo page still says backer shipping "starting in December 2019": Eduted fer proper quote.
  20. ☝️ Whippersnappers today, amirite? 👆 (I'm 51)
  21. Inasmuch as it'd be fun to dance on the shambling corpse wearing Atari's skin, I'd like to think that we at least try to look at it honestly. Wyatt is no saint, and we were happy to point that out back when he was the Atari rock star (my, how quickly pigeons forget). OTOH, Atari has been completely awful throughout this whole ordeal. Neither are heroes, and I'm not sure either can be trusted completely. Which is why tacos are a still a better use of money than NuTari.
  22. I don't understand why I keep getting kicked when I turn the crank.
